Hi Ladies

@Nicola - hope you are feeling better today. There is a tummy bug doing its round in Durbs also, so I hope I dont end up with it.

@Ayesha - I also have a tablespoon of the plain maca root powder. I never seem to find the time to make smoothies these days so I havent been too consistent. Took a while for me to get used to the earthy taste but it definitely is an energy booster. I also noticed my cycles days got more regular so I am guessing it does help with hormonal imbalance. I wonder if its possible to get empty capsules from the pharmacy and put the powder in it?

To those ladies expecting AF this cycle, I hope she stays away.

Enjoy the rest of the week. Stay positive and keep smiling

Hello Ladies

I'm new to this forum. I am looking for advise from every forum, every person, everything .

So here is a bit about me... I have been ttc for about 2 years maybe in these 2 years we have naturally for about a year. I have been off the birth control pill for about 4 years now and we have had unprotected sex but have never fallen pregnant. After getting married we decided that that we will now seriously give it a go since i so badly want to become a mama

So we tried naturally and nothing has come of it so my husband i consulted with my gynae which advised that my DH go for a semen analysis and myself for some tests when the results came back we were then referred to a FS because the results came back saying that my DH had a low sperm count and the chances of conceiving naturally were very slim.

We met with a fertility specialist which read the results and didn't think that my DH had any issues... he feels that DH is perfectly fine and then proceeded to examine myself... He found that my ovaries and everything else seemed find and decided that for 3 months he will assist with putting me on Famara pills for 5 days of the month and thereafter the pregnyl injection for ovulation... this was going to happen for 3 months... So on the medication i developed very nice size follicles and ovulation happened but AF came each month on time.

The FS then decided on a laparoscopy to decipher what other underlying issues there are since no pregnancy happened and everything seemed in order and working. We found out in the lap that i have very sever rectovaginal endometriosis which the FS was unable to remove because it is deep infiltrating endo. I was then referred to a specialist that is able to do the removal.
I met with the specialist on the 01 March and he did confirm that i have a very sever case of endo and that may be the reason for me not conceiving... In order for me to fall pregnant the endo must be removed and it is done but cutting it out... cutting out as much as possible and cleaning out as best as possible.

I have a follow up appointment in April but because I am a smoker i must be one smoke free for a month before the Dr will operate or assist me. So yes i have stopped for a few days now, very difficult but i am trying and doing my best because I want this so badly. And come April i know that i will be smoke free for a month so i know that i will get assistance.

I have endo in my pelvis, bowel and vagina in order to remove this it will take about 2.5 hour to operate and about 7 days hospital stay and about 6 weeks recovery. I am all for this I will do whatever it takes to have my own bambino.

The risks to the surgery are as follows scary risks though but i know and i am positive and i believe in a living God that all will work out.

Risks: Damage to the bowel results in a colostomy bag
The biggest and worst complication is a fistula that can develop between the vagina and rectum meaning that you pass stools through the vagina with no control. The chances of these risks are around 0.5% and 0.7%.

So yes this is my story and i am looking to hear if any of you ladies have been through endo surgery and what you experiences were... what the pain was like... how long did it take for you to recover... how long did it take for you to fall pregnant after surgery... Any and every piece of information that you ladies can provide please.

Where about in the east rand? I know there's a doctor in life springs that's really good I just can't remember the doctors name for the life of me

@Nicola how are you feeling today?

@mamak fx for you. How are you feeling today

@mesh good luck for this cycle hun

AFM spotting has completely stopped today, but I have had a couple of cycles previously that had spotting then nothing the AF smacks me in the face a couple days later so not getting too excited.

I am loving this cacao maca powder, have it every morning and it's giving me such a boost to get through the day which I really need desperately. Our fasting starts in 2 months and preps are underway which means alot making savoiuries which I hate doing. So I'm glad for the boost and if it aids fertility that's a huge bonus.

Sore boobs and nipples still a pregnancy symptom too so hold onto that positivity ladies! So frustrating that AF symptoms mimic BFP symptoms arghhhg!!!

I had incredibly sore nipples last week. Very very very. My period came Sunday. So it's definitely hormones related to AF unfortunately :(

MamaK wrote: Hello ladies,

@Ayesha anything else since the spotting?

@Nicola Sorry about the BFN test, it ain't over until AF arrives, we therefore remain hopeful.

@Hope You go girl! It is always good to spice things up every now and then. Wishing you all of the very best.

@Petit Enjoy Durban, hopefully you will have some good news when you get back.

When is everyone whose AF is due this week testing?

AFM, CD 28, I have done extremely well this cycle in terms of not thinking about ttc too much until this week. *Sigh* I just want to know already. I don't really have any symptoms besides for extremely painful boobs. I also had what felt like lady pains yesterday and a sore lower back every now and then. However I am not too excited as all these could very well mean AF is on the way. The waiting continues.

Mamak I'm keeping my finger and toes crossed for you and all you ladies this cycle

I still have light spotting. It's onlky there when I wipe so I am not counting it as a period I guess or should I? I have slight nausea and heartburn and slight cramps in my ovaries with lower back ache n seriously sensitive nipples (can't even wear a sports bra)

Have any of you read about maca root? It's apparently really good for balancing hormones and aidingv fertility, bought some from dischem this weekend, adding it to smoothie and yoghurt and whatt mmm it it's actually yummy
