Help- I'm officially a cloth nappy user!!

So where are all the cloth nappy Mommies hiding these days? How are all of you doing with your LO's and the Nappies?

the Mother Nature liners are great ones to use but If you would like to you could also try the Bambino Mio liners that you can buy at Baby City , they come on a roll and are also quite nice. I personally just use the Cherubs liners from Pick 'n Pay and also wash them once of twice.

As far as washing, well the best products are the soap free products and I also want to say that the GNLD range of laundry products work great. I have discovered ProBac now which is a stain treatment available at Pnp which works like a bomb, it's Chemical free and therefore great for your nappies. You could also use the Woolies baby Detegent which is also Soap free. Because you have the Bambino Mio squares if you feel you want to but it isn't really such a great idea for the fear of sensitivity to the baby you could use Vanish in your wash once a week as it is Chlorine free bleach but will just freshen them for you.

I personally prefer to use a Solution of Bicarbonate of Soda and Vinegar in my Rinse cycle and then Tee Tree oil in my Dry bucket.

W.r.t. Liners - Mother Nature's liners works best for me.

They are flushable and thick (for those soft/runny newborn poo). You can also wash them and re-use them which is great. (I have tried others like Cherubs and Stegi's but prefer Mother Nature's.)

I wash my cloth nappies using Bloublommetjieskloof laundry liquid or Earthsap laundry liquid (half recommended amount).

Don't use any detergent with softener in it. Softeners are bad for cloth nappies.

Morning Ladies...hope some of you can help me out.

I have teh bambino Mio nappies, A few questions tyo anybody usinh them:

What liners should I use? (would need to buy as I am hopeless at sewing!)

What should I wash them with? Should I dry natruallu or tumble dry?

Baby due in about 3 weeks...Have dispaosables to get me through teh first month and then cant wait to start using my Bm's!

I used the GNLD washing powder for a while and it worked well - worked out cheaper than the washing detergents from supermarkets. But I'm now using Mary Ann Shearer's washing powder which I buy online. It's also expensive (R153 for 2kg) but for regular washing I only use 1 scoop and for my nappies 1/2 a scoop. It lasts for a long time. Below is a cost comparison from the website as well as the link to the website.

The tub says 1 tablespoon which is equal to 15ml (as per above) -
I use 30ml as I have boys with very dirty clothes most days - and it is still cheaper!

Our soap contains: Sodium Polyphosphate, which we let run onto our veggie garden and flower beds and results in wonderful produce. I have copied and pasted from Wikipedia, it is a natural ingredient that is safe for human consumption, so not sure why it cannot be in grey water
