Almost 3 years ago I gave via c-section at Cape Town Medi Clinic, which was not by choice. I was induced the night of the 25th, I only dialated a few cm's by the next afternoon, the evening at about 5pm the gynae said that I would have to have a c-section due to being in labour for so long. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 4kg. I lost alot of blood during this and had to have a blood transfusion the next day. I am thinking of having a 2nd baby soon but would like to explore my options first. I know that VBAC is possible but I would like to know if it would be possible in my case. Are their Dr's at Medi Clinic or Vincent Pallotti that would be pro-vbac?

I am also hoping for a VBAC after a rather traumatic first birth. I am seeing a midwife at Genesis and everything was going really well. However, at the 36-week gynae check-up yesterday I was told that the Caesar scar was 2.9mm at its weakest point and that chances of success weren't great. I've done a lot of research on scar thickness measurements and VBAC success rates, and there seems to be a lot of conflicting advice on this. I'm seeing my midwife again on Monday, but I am a bit despondent after yesterday's appointment.
