Hey ladies. I'm new to the forum but thought I'd give my two cents. Hopefully it can help someone. Firstly- be assertive. You have nothing to fear. A gynae wants to see confidence. Birth Options in Plumstead only takes on patients if you have a letter from a gynae that is prepared to back you. I am once again going to Vincent Palotti as I had my first VBAC there 9 years ago. I was with Dr Hinz previously but decided to go with Dr Dumbrill this time around as the maternity ward nurses let it slip that between them all- Searle, Hinz, Dumbrill- he does most VBAC's . He also allows as much time as a "normal" labor- trust me, that's amazing! Most of them give you a centimeter per hour. Do your homework and know the risks of vaginal vs caesarean and do not be afraid to take them head on and fight for your right. Your birth is your legacy, your life, your relationships- it shapes you and builds you- you choose to take that power vs withering away after being butchered to struggle on as a traumatized failure. My children deserve better, my husband deserves better and I want it my way. It healed me. After my first c section (I was 20) I felt broken and traumatized. Grabbing my little boy under his arms and pulling him out of me myself is my most beautiful treasured memory. Nobody touched us for an hour and a half. It was magical. I am currently 31 weeks. The fear never leaves you, but you know what? I not afraid of dying. I am afraid of what was left of me after my caesarean- I had post natal psychosis and I almost died. I wanted to die. I never wanted more children. I will post my births one day. What gives me strength and what motivates me- you can say NO. No matter what they tell you or what intervention they suggest- you can say NO.

Most importantly- 95% of all uterine ruptures (vbac and non) was due to induction and augmentation especially Cytotec- banned mostly now. If a dr wants to induce you knowing you've had a Caesar and plan for a vbac- he's a bloody idjit. Also- 40 weeks gestation is an average- my average is 38 weeks, yours might be 42. Why do we give strangers all power over our bodies? Your child is not just gonna crystallize because he's two weeks "overdue". Machines lie- my son weighed a kilo more than the best case scenario they gave me- all they achieved was scaring me. Induction is your biggest threat because the biggest risk factors against vbac stems directly from induction complications. Pitocin= unbearable contractions= too early epidural= stalled labor = higher doses of drug. Keep that in mind. I ended up with an epidural to sleep a few hours before pushing- DONT fear the pain. I had horrific back labor but for me it truly felt like tripping on acid when I was a teenager. Sorry if that's too much info. You go to a place inside that's probably your inner most core. You can have an epidural- I was dead set against it- if I can give advice- try to get to at least 5-6cm on your own to make sure you don't stall labor as we cannot get Pitocin. Please message me if you have questions. Educate yourself. A dr is no more or less a business man- I pay you for services rendered, I don't pay you to take my power. I live in this body and know my own soul and mind- I decide. You support. Trust yourself. I knew the alternative was not an option for me. I had to walk through the fire. And it is a fire. You're family, husband and friends might be afraid for your sake- educate them!!! If they do not support you- avoid them. You're stronger than what you think. Good luck to us all. Xxx

I am currently working on the Birthing Series for Moomie and have received SO MANY stories. Many of them VBAC's. I cannot wait to share it with you, it just takes a while to put it all together. Each story is so amazing, no matter what the birth.

Reading through the stories just made me realize again how strong women are. Amazing. Good luck to you all on your VBAC journeys.

Hello ladies
I have been following this post for a while and hardly get time to post. Dh and I have decided to ttc this year, have found a Gynea here in Pmb that has agreed to do a vbac when the time comes. Before dh and I to try for no2 I decided to look for gyneas who are pro vbac and so far I have found 2 within reach. Hopefully before long I will be pregnant and putting updates here and gathering as much info as possible. I must say finding a gynea that is pro vbac was a challenge but getting a second one for just in case was even more challenging. Have a great day ladies
