Elamsmom,

I used Dr Mia for my LB (2010), and at that point Dr Maasdorp was assisting him. I saw him (Dr Maasdorp) for my 36 week check-up.

I can't remember much (preggie brains at the time ;)), but had no problems with seeing him instead of Dr Mia.
Even though the appointments were running late, he spend as much time with me as needed - wasn't rushed, and he answered any questions I had.

Dr Maasdorp is one of the Genisis in house gynies, I'm sure he will be supportive. Maybe go see him and check it out, or make appointments with a few of the docs there and then choose one.

Anni I'm so stoked for you that's awesome news :D :D
Cant wait to hear the story!

Elamsmom I dont think I'd go back with my old gynae who declined allowing me to go for vbac.
I would say contact Genesis directly and ask them who are the backup gynae's they use, as obviously they have a working relationship with them and get support from them. You could also ask your midwife for details on the gynae she is suggesting and ask whether he is generally good and supportive of VBAC's. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't recommend someone if they were not going to support your VBAC and this way its a new person to you so no awkward feelings!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Elamsmom, I really don't know hey, I always refer people to dr Mia. So sorry he is full, what did your midwife say? She should be able to refer you to someone.

Hi all

I have a bit of a dilemma. Dr Mia who was going to be my new backup gynae at Genesis is fully-booked until October. Which would be perfect, except my baby will be born by then

Do any of you ladies, or Hasie, know of a good backup VBAC gynae who supports midwives at Genesis? I have been referred to Dr Maasdorp. Does anyone know anything about him. There isn't much about him on the internet.

Thanks. Will appreciate your responses.
