I just want to say how sorry I am. I wrote out this long reply and posted it (well thought it had) and was cross cause not one single person had even acknowledged what I wrote. I will come write another reply once the monster is fed.

T G I F!!!

It was month end this week - HECTIC and then yesterday we were all informed how the company I work for will be going throu alot of changes in VERY NEAR future.. all I can say is WOW!!! But it does sound exciting too!!

@ ScribblingAl - Yes the patching can help to rectify the squint but its not 100% guaranteed. At the moment the Dr's main objective is to force Luke's eye to work before the vision in the left eye gets worse than it already is. I am also praying that he will not need an op in the future. The patching is going very well now - he is not pulling his patch off, so I am not using micro-pore plaster at the moment! YAY!!!!

Thanks Adri & ScribblingAl for the well wishes for Luke - it means a lot to me.

Did you find the keys for the fridge ScribblingAl? And congrats on the sale of the house even tho its not what you guys wanted... I am also sure you going to find something really nice.

I need to go look for a nice "puffy" jacket for Luke this weekend and new tekkies - His a size 4 now :woohoo:

Let me get back to work - leaving at 2pm to go for lunch with our Directors (they taking the finance team for lunch and drinks). :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have an awesome weekend!!!!

Oh, and @Des, I hope I did not offend you or came across insensitive that other night with our BBM conversation and my comment about how hard it must be having two little ones. Glad all is well with you, can't wait for your little one to come!

I have missed so much over the last couple of weeks on the thread I don't even know where to start...but this is good news as it means our thread is alive and kicking!

@Babyshoes - Awww, he looks quite happy with his patch on in the picture, what a cute little boy! And I'm glad he's getting more comfortable with wearing it. I really hope it works for him that you don't have to go for operations!

@ScribblingAl, I thought about the bed thing a while ago and then concluded that she is safer in her cot if she wakes up by herself than what she would be if she wakes up on a bed. She's way to mischievous, I can't even start to imagine the damage she could do awake on her own in her room.

Oh, on the comment about it becoming easier after the second one, that was a joke that obviously didn't come through....I know that it will be hard hard hard with two little ones around. But I usually make things difficult for myself (pregnant while writing first honors exams, 7 month old baby while I wrote the second ones) so I can just as well continue the trend and start my masters when I'm pregnant again :)

If I was a fridge key I would probably be in a bottom drawer in the kitchen ;)

@Pinky, I was/is (i'm not sure) also depressed after Kara's birth. It comes and goes, so don't feel alone. It happened to so many people I know - I am starting to think it's just part of modern living and all it's stresses. It just gets too much. If you and scribblingAl meets up with that bottle of wine, let me know, maybe I can sneak away from work.

Have a good weekend!

Oh Babyshoes, I meant to add that squints are really common - apparently they affect about one in 20 children. Are they sure about him needing an op? I see that the muscle thing (which you're doing with the patch) is one of the main forms of treatment, and often works. There are also eye drops that can treat it. I read up about the operation and it seems to be very simple, with hardly any risks. But it is usually a last resort, after the patch and the drops.

Ah ladies, the thread's been quiet the last few days.

Babyshoes, how's it going with the patch?

We accepted the offer - it was a bit lower than we wanted, but the agents cut their commission so we could get want we wanted out of the deal. But then the bank wouldn't give them the loan because the woman had a judgment against her from some arb doctor in 2008! It was quite an eye-opener because I didn't know that these guys can just blacklist you without you knowing about it! So they are working on clearing the judgment but in the meantime we've had another interested buyer, so we'll see what happens. I immediately went to the ITC website and did a free credit check on myself - you never know with medical aids these days (which was what happened with the woman - the doc didn't send the claim to the medical aid but to the wrong address so she never got the bill).

I just spent an hour looking for our fridge keys. I can't even remember what they look like - we've never had a reason to use them, but now, certain people have learnt how to open it, and love unpacking the freezer. Argh. If I was a fridge key, where would I be....
