Well, I'm home alone, and not in a Macaulay Culkin kind of way - Emily and her dad are hanging out at Grandma's while I'm supposed to be hard at work on the big fat albatross. While it's nice having some time on my own it's surprisingly lonely. It's not often that I've been alone since becoming a mother - Emily sleeping doesn't count. It's something that I was a lot better at before the Emily Era. Which just goes to show how much Motherhood can swallow up the woman. This will be remedied. As soon as the albatross has been let loose, that is.
Other than that things have been moving along at a cracking pace. We've had an offer on the house, so if the bond is approved we'll be house-hunting in earnest. It will be nice to not have people in and out of our home. And to leave the kitchen in a mess just because we can.
Emily finally seems to be warming to the 1 - 3 years milk, and I'm hoping that she'll be off that budget-smashing Nan HA soon.
We had a big of a crappy night last night as the power went out a midnight and only came on again at 5. Which is fine if you don't have a little one who wakes up like clockwork when her radio goes off (we put white noise on in the background because we're on quite a busy road). It was freezing, so we put her in bed with us, seeing as the heater was off. What a night! Madam lay sprawled out in the middle, and the two of us each had a tiny little corner. I definitely think she's gearing up to get out of that cot! Is anyone else thinking of making the move to a kiddies bed?
Enough scribbling. The albatross awaits!
