heart March to May 2010 Mommies

Hello there everyone...

I have been a little scarce lately only because my life at the moment feels like a whirlwind!

I was offered a position with a previous client of mine - i set the hours, salary etc etc which seems to be a Godsend. So I start on Monday 0900 - 1300. And in the new year we will relook the contract and decide if I want to work from home part of the week, change to a more Product Manager role or just stay in the system implementation and training role that I am filling currently. So exciting times ahead. I was just saying how I felt so braindead and whalaa! The next week the call came in.

As for the house... we eventually found a lovely lovely home in an area called Monte Vista which is where I grew up my entire life really! Moved out when I was 30 and engaged :) So I know the area is quiet, decent, safe and has brilliant schools for Tayla. So anyhoo - we put the offer in, it was accepted... then put our house on the market.. sold in 4 days! Miracles do happen. But we are now patiently or not so patiently waiting on bond approval. We sadly got a call this morning to say we are on 72 hours notice as another buyer has put an offer in and has bond approved. So i'm stressing a little! So hopefully by Monday we'll hear from the bond originator and it will be good news!
Should all go well - we move mid November... MONTH AND A HALF AWAY! EEEEEKKKK!!!!!!! Going to be packing every night by the looks of things!

We just had a little family holiday in Gansbaai this week before Tyrel goes back to work and I start my half day job... we had such a nice time. Tayla LOVED the sea and couldn't get enough of the water. Daddy even made sure she was well kitted out.. little skirt, peak cap and sunnies... too adorable!

CONGRATS Bronz... wow!!! Another pregnant moomie! I'm starting to feel like I missed the memo ;)

Anyhoo - that is my update for now... Got only a couple of minutes left before madam wakes from her avie nap and then she'll want to play on the laptop!!!

Hope you all have a good Saturday and weekend!

Hi there Ladies

Wow... I haven't been on here for so long!! Life has been pretty hectic with me and my family! This pregnancy has not been one of the easiest... In fact… It is much worse than with Karla! The nausea has been horrible… luckily it has started to subside now… but it has been replaced with headaches, sinus, thrush etc… aaaaaggggghhhhh!!!! :S :S :S

Thanks for the chance to moan and groan with you girls!!! ;)

Actually it is going well, I am now 14 weeks and my belly is really pushing out now… much earlier than with Karla!
We went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago and he suspects that it is a boy, but don’t want to say definitely, we will probably be able to see at our next appointment!

@Bronz – CONGRATS GIRL!!!! I am very happy for you, hope your pregnancy is fantastic!

@Des – Oh, Cullen is too cute, and Connor also, they look beautiful on the pictures I see on facebook!

@ScribblingAl – Moved yet? How is it going, probably hectic I suppose!

@Beansmom- Yay for booking the date for the licence… hope it goes well!

I am loving my job, although I can only work until the end of Feb, and I am not even qualifying for UIF or paid maternity leave… Can’t blame anyone, I haven’t worked long enough for them to give me anything and it is the welfare, so… oh well!
Don’t know if I will go back after the baby is born, because my salary that I earn here will just pay the 2 kids to go the crèche… that is a bit of a downer… will probably look for something a bit different with more pay… oh well.
Also I am so finished with studying, everytime I am almost finished circumstances change and I fall back and back. Next year I won’t be able to do my practical as we start in Feb and the baby comes in March… I am a bit negative, but decided to take it one day at a time, and if I have to give up my dream for a while, so be it!

Have a great rest of your day girls! :woohoo:

Hello Ladies!

Sorry I don’t post much anymore. I do occasionally pop in to see how you are all doing but life has been hectic! Sounds like you are all well and that all the little munchkins are doing very well. So glad the patching is helping Babyshoes – good luck with the red cross appointment .
Congrats to Pinky and Bronz – so excited for you ladies – a healthy and happy pregnancy to you both!!
Scribbling – have you moved yet – moving house is such a mission but I’m sure you will be very happy in your new place. Let us know how it goes!!!
Bronz, going to the USA – wow, exciting but daunting all the same!!!
Nice to hear an update Des – hopefully things calm down for you soon. Your boys are both so handsome. I hear you on the attention thing, I’m home so little since starting working that it’s a nightmare when I get home – Lia wants up the whole time then Jordan also wants up – and that doesnt really work out well. Where are beansmom, Elamsmom, and I’m sure some other ladies are missing – hope you guys are all doing well!!!

Our move went ok and we are settled in and comfy in the new little place. Lia is only now starting to get use to school. She screamed blue murder every morning for over a month (bear in mind that she has never been away from BOTH myself and Andre for more than hour before). She did cry less and less each day and she was starting to settle and then she then got hand foot and mouth disease (must be the mildest case ever heard of because she was 100% healthy and happy except for a few random blisters on her hands) – she then had Roseola – also so mild – her fever was hardly even noticeable and only lasted a day, wouldn't even have realised if she didn't get the rash - she ate and played as normal and had rash for 3 days . So she was off school for more than a week and then when she went back again it was drama all over again. Last week she finally started settling in and stopped crying when Andre dropped her which is great. When we went to our first parents evening – the teacher told me that she hardly ever talks though, and just stands and watches when the other kids etc sing. Poor little munchkin talks our ears off and even comes home and sings songs etc so she is obviously not 100% settled yet. She can count to 10, she sometimes does 2-3 word sentences. She even says please and thank you on the odd occasion which is just so cute yet she doesn't say more than 3/4 words at school. I guess it will take probably a few months before she gets 100% confident with her new friends and teachers. I’m just glad that she goes there with a smile and comes home with a smile. My son was very happy at the school from day 1, I think going to school at 3 years old is the perfect age in that respect . Hes still misses us but loves playing with his new friends.

Sleep stills sucks though it has been better since Lia’s first eye teeth popped out. Admittedly she ends up in the bed with us most nights and sleeps there, then when she wakes up at night she yells mommy at the top of her voice she passes out again as soon as I cuddle her close and tell her I’m there – which is great as she doesn’t expect milk. I’m one of those people who don’t sleep comfortably with a child in the bed, but hey, I’m adapting and finding it easier than getting up a zillion times. She does still get breastfed mornings and evenings – amazingly my body has adjusted and there is still supply. I haven’t decided when I’ll wean her – I weaned Jordan at 20 months because I was 4 months preggies and it felt uncomfortable with my tummy and sensitive breasts etc. She only really gets mornings, evenings and naptime if we are at home on the weekends. I will probably wean her same time as I did Jordan, or start encouraging her to wean herself at this stage.

Anyway, too much blabbing. Must try and pop in more often. Sorry I haven’t sent personal message to everybody – but I couldn’t read messages further than a page back for some reason.

Just thought of ClaudiaB too - hope you and James are doing well too!!!

Hi girls...long time no chat, as u can i magine, things in our home have been hectic!

Cullen, now 3 weeks old is doing well. Already changing from the tiny newborn I brought home. Things 2nd time round are easier but what I am struggling with is dividing my attention between the two boys...thankfully Connor is at daycare during the week...so I can focus all my attention on the new baby......Hein and I each have bath and bedtime routines with the boys....and we swap over so we each get Connor and Cullen time.... Pretty hectic! But Im sure things will calm down soon.

Bronwyn, you know how thrilled I am for you......defsz want my invite to your state side baby shower!

Has anyone heard from Pinky? Wonder how she's Doing!

Glad u girls are all still here...when things settle down, I will post more often.

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Lost my post. Again. Bugger Moomie.

It's probably for the best though - was getting rather philosphical about the second-time-rounders ;)

Bronz, congratulations!! It's a nice gap - two years. I can't believe there are so many of us who are already second-time mothers (nearly) - Des, Bronz, Pinky - who else??? I hope you're all going to keep posting on this thread. A friend of mine said it was so easy second time round - like her body finally clicked what it was supposed to do.

Bronz, I also wish my mother was nearby. Keep us posted on the visa situation. You're so chilled. When next you're in Jozi let me know and I'll come out to you.

Babyshoes, excellent news about the improvement. All your patching seems to have paid off. Holding thumbs that things keep improving, and yay on the Red Cross referral!! Don't stress about the licence. Keep practising! We move next Saturday, so it's quite hectic here.

Copy, paste, submit.

Hey ladies

Well I have some news... I am about 5/6 weeks pregnant. Due any where between the 13 and 20th May. I really did not expect to fall preg this quick/!!!! We went off the pill and I thought it would take a good 6 months like it did the last time. Clearly August is a good month for me and conceiving!

We are just waiting on visas to go over to the States. It will only be for a year or 2. I dont want to go permanently!

Just spent a week in Joeys, It is so dry there. I would have arranged a meet up but I had no car. Great seeing mom again, but sad that it may be the last time for a while. I wish I could have her closer!

How is everyone else?

I must say I think me being pregnant is Desiree's fault for popping out such a gorgeous boy and made my ovary release an egg. :P

So Scribbling you can add me to the preg group, when should we add you?
