heart March to May 2010 Mommies

Pinky, Emily is at home this week for the school holidays and it is killing me to leave her behind while I go to work. I nipped back for lunch now, and it was so cool being with her - even if it's just for a short time. We're not planning a second one. It took me a long time to "warm" to Emily, and now that I have I sometimes think that we could have another one. But then we have a bad week and that usually puts me right. Reading this back I sound like a selfish old hag :) but it is hard work, and the older you are and the more set you are in your ways the more of an adjustment it is.

I wonder if Elamsmom is quiet now because she's in labour....?

Wow Nicky!!! Congrats!

Our 2nd little one is now just passed the 6 months mark! Much more busier than Karla ever was and so frustrated because he wants to move... think he might be crawling soon!

@ScribblingAl - when is your turn for the 2nd one???

@Elamsmom - how far along are you? are you going for a VBAC?

I took Karla out of school this week because of the Holiday, and it is HARD work with the 2 of them on my own! But it is fun and she is getting really big now and playing on her own so well!

So nice to hear from this thread. I get the notifications on my phone, and can't always see which thread it's from. I'm following one of the VBAC threads as well, and when I saw your post, Pinky, I thought you were posting on that and of course my mind went into overdrive.

Nicky, it's great to hear from you. I often wonder how the "old gang" is doing. Congratulations on the twins. I can relate to what you're saying about you being more relaxed than with the first one. I was trying to do the juggle and work from home as well as be the perfect mother, and that combined with post-natal depression did not make for an easy baby. Retrospect is a wonderful thing to have - there is so much I would do differently if we were to do it all again, which we're not. Twins - what a blessing. Can you post some pics?

Elamsmom, I am following your progress with interest. I will post a reply on the other thread shortly. But please keep us posted. They are so cute at this age (the toddlers) and I think they are at the perfect age for siblings, especially when I see Emily with her dolls.

About the Bumbo recall, I wonder if half the problem isn't that people use them as a babysitter, leaving the kids unattended? I read somewhere that there was a hoo-hah because babies were falling off counter tops while in the Bumbos.

Hi mommies *waves!* Long time no chat!

OMW Nicky! TWINS! That is so exciting! Yeah, must be quite bittersweet when you know this is the last time you'll be using those tiny onesies etc, but I''m so ready to have all my kids already so they can start growing up together. I really wanna get this child-bearing phase over with already. We have one LG and one on the way (due yesterday actually but showing no signs of being in a hurry to come into the world. Gah! The wait and anticipation is killikng me!) We want to try one last time for a little boy then the baby making factory will be officially closed forever (I'm getting my tubes tied).

@ Babyshoes: Toddlers are really hard work! Shoo! But also so absolutely adorable with everything they are learning. Ours is currently taliking our ears off from the second she opens her eyes in the morning to the time she falls asleep:laugh: Thank Goodness for creche. I take my hat off for teachers!

Other than waiting for baba no.2, nothing new on my side.

Hope everyone is keeping well!!!!

@Babyshoes: I agree! No more for me either! Katie's 2 years &5 months and the twins are 3 weeks old
I am a little sad about that though - the last little babygros I'm ever going to need.
Just wondering if you ladies heard about the Bumbo recall and repair? If not, google it & request you safety harness.

26 April was the date my life changed forever - I heard the sound of Katie's voice for the first time.
