Jan/Feb/Mrch 2012 Momies to Be

Hi ladies!

Glad to hear all is going well with everyone! Not going to do personals, as it will take me ages...

AFM - Went for my check-up yesterday at 23 weeks 1 day. De Wet is still a boy and doing sooo well. Hy weighs approximately 741g and his little foot is already 4.2cm long. Everything else is super fine. With mommy all is good as well. Lost 2kg since the last appointment and Dr was impressed. Just said I musn't loose too many weight, but as long as baby is growing nicely no harm done. Bloodpressure also fine.

Have to go for the sugar tolerance test at my next appointment (6 December). Dr says if I get through that, then all is clear for a very good and healthy pregnancy. 4D is booked for 14 December.

Zelf so you are going into party planning again? Hope that school works out or you find another great one...

Carolsch sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Maybe see if you can get some help - these maid services are quite professional. Although i feel you on being controling.

Simone my LG didnt use a dummy for the 1st 4 months - then she went to my MIL and she gave her one and she took to it. She is obsessed with it now but I am strict and she only gets it for bed. Her school also dont allow them during the day so that is good. Not sure what I will do with the new baby.

Mandy so exciting that your mom is coming to visit. You also have a few busy weeks ahead before the baby comes. When do you start Maternity leave?

Carlene so exciting about the 4d scan - how did it go. Did you get some lovely pics?

Joburg is soooooooo hot!!! I feel so dizzy during the day - have been trying to drink lots to stay hydrated.
I have my next scan on the 15th of November - cant wait, we can hopefully confirm the gender so I can get started with the room and do some shopping

Simone, I bought the dummies but Ruan wouldn't use it. It would have helped a lot. At times they just look for something to sooth them. But no such luck. I was a bit afraid to use it because my cousins daughter still had to sleep with a dummy till she was 5!! so like ZelF said you need to limit their usage.

Mandy, I know what you mean. I want my baby to come, but I also want time to slow down. So strange, but you feel kinda sad that this is the last time that you would carry such a special little miracle inside of you. You just want to hold on to it for as long as possible. But not so long for you anymore hey!

ZelF hope you find a great school! I must start looking for Ruan as well. I just so scared to leave him with other people! He has been at home so long I think it would be really hard for ME!
Good Idea moving the party earlier. You will have a newborn around that time!

Vision, good to hear from you! Yes christmas has come so quick this year! I think every year is going by quicker than the last... Scary...

So tired now. Feel like I got too much on my plate. Wish I could be superwoman. My husband wants me to handle all his admin work and I do not mind...Just feels like when I try to do so much I always neglect something. I hate a deurmekaar house. And if I stay in office whole day, try to spend time with ruan then my house looks terrible. When I clean, and do some work. Then I neglect my son. And he offered to get someone to help me, but I am a bit of a control freak. I have to do everytjing myself to make sure its done right. Maybe we should get someone to come in halfday and clean?? Especially cause I cannot do as much now with pregnancy as I am used to do... Ai enough of this now. Just had to vent a bit!

Feeling a bit dizzy, probably tiredness.

Vision, sounds like you have been busy, hopefully you have a more relaxed time ahead?

Simone, I used dummies with both boys, but I'm strict about when they use it though. It's only for sleeping, therefor no walking around with dummy when they're awake. Took Ewan's away about at 18 months, Janu is barely using his anymore now at 13 months, so I told DH we must take it away now as well. It helped me in the beginning,but I could have coped without it as well.Will use one with Millay as well, but just limited though.

Mandy, your time is near, can imagine you are getting uncomfortable. Enjoy your sons birthday on Sunday, are you having a party?

Carlene, enjoy the scan tomorrow - hopefully we get a picture afterwards??

Had a look at the one nursary school today, and it was not too bad. The baby class was a bit too full to my liking, but they are busy building, and will be finished January, then I think it will be much better. Will see how the other school lookes like tomorrow.
Ewan's birthday is 09 January, so we decided to rather have his party now on the 03 December - now to get a venue for that date!

I'm going for my 4d scan tomorrow. Chat again tomorrow.

Hello Ladies, Hi Amanda, although I am new on this particular thread, I am really thinking of you often, Hope little Vica is doing alright and well done on getting her off the oxygen for now! wow thats pretty amazing for being so tiny. How many weeks were you when she decided to make an appearance?

Zel f, so nice that you had a baby shower, I am sure many of us still going to have one are holding off on buying anything until that day, so must be a relief, now you can get on with getting all your STUFF ready!

hmm simone, yip, it sounds like your shower was very GRAND!!! Ive got a friend organising mine in two weeks time, just like you, its my first childs 3rd birthday one week end ( this week end sunday ) then my shower the next week end.. luckily my friend lives in the same estate as us so its literally 2 minutes away My mom arrives from PE on this friday, cant wait, and she will stay for 10 days so been getting her room ready in the new house..

Maureen, wishing that all is okay for you, glad you are going to be seen to, even though you are so hectic, let us know how the ent appointment went. We had grommets fitted and adenoids and tonsils done when my son was about 18 months so we have done it all! and it really helped !

Mummoo - couldnt have been nice to have a robber in your yard, or to have to have him beaten up.. regardless of whether he deserved it or not, that would have FREAKED ME OUT completely!!! glad they managed to catch him though! I can imagine your hubby is in a state to get more security concious! at least your family didnt get hurt!! or robbed!

anyhoo - Im feeling a mix between being uncomfortable and keen on this big tummy to finish up now, and then feeling that i know this is my last pregnancy and wishing i could slow it down and just enjoy my little girl kicking and staying safely inside me for longer!!! aah well, life DOES GO ON!!!

Vision thanks re: shower...my sister and friend put alot of thought into everything....so I was just glad everybody enjoyed it:) I feel youre: being tired....I am counting down to December....I need a holiday already!

2nd time moms...did your first kid/kids use dummies? Will you be using them this time round? Addison never used dummy or sucked thumb and she turned out fine....but i know a few kids suck thumb and that is apparently hard habit to break...so perhaps dummy for back up??? Personally I'm not a fan of dummies....so would prefer to gow ithout, but of course if my child wants it i would give it.
