Mil gave me already a lecture on how i must start saving i refuse to neglect my lo just to have money for the wedding!! and i told dh i wont go nowhere until i had my 6wk check up.
and i will decide on natural or c section no one else.

she already told me on how to travel with lo etc. and lecture on how i dont need to buy little things for my lo, we just bought the campcot all the other was gifts.
sorry for venting about mil im just frustrated feels like i can cry.

@Mandz: Good luck for gynae appoitment. You really do get nervous but it is also very exciting! Please let us know ASAP how it went.

Everytime the gynae puts the ultrasound thingy on my belly, I hold my breath because I am just so nervous! I look straight at the screen and search for the baby's heartbeat and look for movement. Sheesh! I am such a nervous wreck this time around. I think, for me, it is because I had issues with my 1st pregnancy and I guess i learnt from that not to just take it for granted that everything will be ok :( But I hate being so nervous! Even though I am passed the 12 week mark in my 2nd trimester and kind of in a much less risky period, I still worry quite a bit. I guess also because my "threatening miscarriage" happened at 17 weeks when I also thought that I was already home and dry. :(

@Joybaby: They phoned y'day to say I must go in for the stitch this morning but I asked them if I could re-schedule it to 2 weeks time. That way we can also hopefully find out the gender. I guess I'm just going to take it slow and hope and pray that nothing happens/no bleeding. So stitch scheduled for Wednesday 18th April.

Anyway, sorry to go on & on. I guess you gals are the only people who might just understand how I am feeling.

@Joybaby: forgot to say how GORGEOUS your pics are. You look beautiful and that black&white pic of Kaylae is absolutely lovely!

@RobynC: I hope you feel better today.

Robyn :( Sorry you are feeling so down about this. Men can be very insensitive sometimes. As the others say its not like u had any control of the outcome and he went in knowing there was a 50/50 chance of getting another girl. Maybe when the tension is not so heated between you, try find out why its gotten him so upset. Has he voiced his desire for a boy before? Is there maybe something else stressing him out and this is a way for him to vent?
I'm the type of person that wont let it just be. I dont like feeling mistreated and I will have my say about his crap behaviour cos if I keep quiet it'll become even worse. Think of a way to talk about this, its not on that he treats you this way when you should be happy and celebrating that you have a healthy baby. But you know your DH and how will be the best time to talk about it together.
I told my DH about your dilema. He said as long as I'd let the girl do things with dad, provided its things she wanted to do (he wants a motorcross racer child to live out his dreams) then he doesnt mind boy or girl. But that's why I am hoping for a boy so that we'd never get to that decision with a girl.

Nola ooh so exciting! Do let us know as soon as possible how it went!
To change ur signature you need to go into your profile. Its one of the grey tabs on the top of the page. Then there is an option to edit your profile, and update your profile. Under forum you look for the Board Signature box and then you can delete and add any info. Go to www.lilypie.com to choose a pregnancy ticker. Choose the forum format, and you copy the BBC URL code into your profile signature page to have ur new signature uploaded. Hope that makes sense :S

Isha everything is different 2nd time around, even the DH. I guess they know more what to expect now and to be excited for 9 months can seem bothersome.
I guess for them the excitement will come from knowing what to expect this time around and from the fact that there's less work to do to prepare for the birth.
Once they can feel baby kicking it will also help a bit but I guess dont get ur expectations too high.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hi Ladies,

I am having the hardest time keeping everyone and their updates straight in my head.

Anyhoo.... lets give it a try....

@Elamsmom .... What about some rescue remedy to help with the flying?
I am not all for drugging up our kids, but sometimes it does help a great deal.

@Robyn.... He will regret his actions very soon. And he will have to live with the guilt of his reaction. Let him be. Men are sometimes just not in tune with what is really important. Let it run off your back. If he wants a boy, he can fall pregnant himself.

@ Isha.... Welcome to paranoia central..... and a BIG congrats.

@ Belaine... Dont worry about not feeling baby yet. It also has to do where baby is lying and where the placenta is. I felt my son at 17weeks 2 days. TMI alert.... It was no bubbles or butterflies for me, it felt like my stomach turning to do a nr 2. Only realized after about 2 days, I do not have Irretable bowl sindrome .... that is my baby I feel.
Just want to say, that I am the most unnatural mother you will ever meet and everything just fell into place. The beginning is awkward and everyone tells you to do things differently and you are all confused. But years on you can look back and say... baby survived , I survived. I did good.

Joybaby - Beautiful pics!!!!
Good luck with the move and especially where you are moving to. We had to stay with my parents for a while and it was rather ...... ummmmm..... challenging. If you need to blow off some steam... we are here for you.

As for me.... my 12week scan tomorrow. looking forward sooooo much.

Can anybody tell me how to change my signature. I want to remove the weightloss ticker and have absolutely NO clue how to do that. Havent been here in a while.

Hi RobynC: I'm sorry. reading my post now, maybe I was a bit harsh on your DH. I was just really shocked at his reaction and I was just imagining how I would feel  I really hope that you two can work things out soon. Marriage/babies/family/emotions are a very complicated issue. I know that very well.

@Isha: They say women are complicated but Men are worse in my humble opinion. You might find that your DH is just nervous but he doesn't want to show it & he wants to be strong for you so pretends not to be feeling anything.Men often feel A LOT of pressure around such big events like having a new baby. Lucky for me, my DH is more expressive that the average male so I know that he is feeling a lot of pressure. He doesn't want us to go out for dinners or buy anything unnecessarily anymore because "there are bigger things to worry about" he says. For my friend's wedding next weekend, We were planning to stay in kzn for 2 nights and now that there's a baby on the way, he cut it down to one night so we are now driving there on the morning of the wedding and only sleeping over on the Saturday.

Shame, I do feel for them sometimes because they've been conditioned to always appear strong & brave & unemotional...

Anyway, to those who asked, we are going to East London in the Eastern cape. My mom lives there. I am really looking forward to it, the peace, the beach, seeing my family etc.

BIG HUGS ROBYN_C

Hopefully your DH comes around real soon. So he can enjoy the pregnancy with you.
Maybe his heart was really set on having a LB, but that still doesnt give him a reason to treat you and you LG like that.

And like Elamsmom said, he is the one that donates the gender determining sperm. He might not have control over it, but he has the deciding goodies.

I just wish my hubby will be alittle bit excited, i asked him how he felt after the scan yesterday all he could say was "normal". After MC's he didnt even feel emotional. He says the pregnancy does nothing to him, its only real once his child is here.
