Hello Pregnant Fairies ...
Wow this thread is thriving! Lovely to see! I must admit I am still trying to get used to the idea of being pregnant again. Its amazing how much more relaxed you are about it second time around (And this does not mean I don't buy preggie mags

) I think there is pandemonium about how we will get everything together in such a short time I guess. We were very blessed with our son because we had almost everything we needed. So now its just wants really.
My LB is almost 17 months. Jordyn is the light of our lives and has been an extra easy baby (Thank the Lord for the easy transition into parenthood). He has just fallen ill about three weeks ago for the first time and even then we only realised when he was at the Ped how ill he was. He had tonsillitis, after one course of antibiotics he had to go on another and now ten days later its back again (well I dont think it cleared hundred percent!). I am so grateful for a Ped who doesnt play around and makes everything easier to understand. We had a rough Saturday night- Jordyn was unsettled in the start of the night then he woke screaming at 1am and puked his heart out which is scary when you have a kid that never even spat up as a baby. He cried and cried and cried.......Had no idea what was wrong. Anyway long story shortened- took him to the ER on Sunday morning as I didnt think it was an emergency to phone Ped. Well I will never waste my time or money again. I paid all the after hours fees blah blah to see a GP that said its probably a upper respiratory infection/virus. He gave us a script that was as long as the bible and I walked out angry. He didnt listen let alone look into Jordyns throat(especially after I told him he has recurrent tonislitis). So I reluctantly phoned Ped who said meet her at the Ped ward in 20 minutes which was really sweet of her. So after all that it was tonsils again and now we have to see an ENT. She says he is still a little young for the op but if they need to then they will operate. So I have that hanging over my head next week. Any of you second time moms have advice? I agree if it needs to be done, why wait.
I am trying to read back to the beginning of the thread and will post as I can remember.
As for me, I have a gynae appt on Wednesday next week and I cant wait to confirm how far I really am. I think I may be 8 weeks as I had what seemed to be an oddly light AF last month. I am also not really happy about going off the Glucophage as Gynae said because a month ago I was diagnosed with IR and my insulin was 30 which is really high.
Some of you are almost past first trimester already! wow! I am lucky as I have had no MS, and I hope this is a follow on from first pregnancy. Do you think there is any truth in the fact that it will probably be a boy again? I dont really understand the logic in that. I think every couple would love a pigeon pair and a girl would be divine but we really dont mind either way.
Bottle advice- I think I agree with the wait option. You really dont know if baby will need a bottle or take to a bottle. I only realise now that I took a chance buying it all. Luckily J took to Avent bottles and I did BF and Formula together( Yeah I know its a crime). But Avent are nice besides the leaking issue from time to time with these rubber rings.
Belaine- I must be honest I had a BF pillow and you can really get value out of it. If I had it before bubs was born I would have used it to sleep with. I then used it for feeding-which is great when you had a csection. I have still not packed it away because before J sat nicely I used it as a safety net and now I still put it down on floor for him if he wants to lay in front f TV etc. I was lucky cos one of the midwives made them for R150 and they were made with a little more thought process. The preggie rolls are quite pricey.
I also had a emergency csection first time round so have opted for the elective C section second time around. Easier when you know what to expect.
So now just the wait for the scan next week!!! Hate waiting. Cant wait for everyone else's updates on their visits. And I am sure we will all have healthy pregnancies.
