Elamsmom technicians who do the detailed fetal analysis scans at 12 weeks tend to be able to tell the sex at this point. But gynae's wont do so until at least 16 weeks, and even then they never say 100% sure.
I found out at 16w that we were expecting a girl, and it was clear as day there was no doubt in my mind.

BTW have u ever seen the comparison used between a boy and a girl?
A girl looks like a hamburger from the side, a bun, patty, and bun.
And a boy looks like a turtle with the little head sticking out of its shell.
So by your next check up you should be able to find out and then you can keep an eye out! When will you be going for your stitch?

I'm very sad the weekend has come to an end already I am really looking forward to the long weekend ahead I really hoped DH would take some extra time off but he wants to take an entire week off work when the new Diablo computer game comes out so that he can play it straight for a week! He got the pre-order take2 voucher for his birthday so he's super happy about that.
I think I will ask him to take the 30th April off so we can go away for that long weekend.

It was DH birthday yesterday so we arranged a braai for today cos the weather was much nicer. Last night we had dinner with friends, and K slept by granny and grandpa so we could sleep through and have a little lie in this morning.
Then we got home and cleaned house for possible tenants to come view the house but then the agent forgot to tell me she'd made it for tomorrow instead. Oh well the house is at least clean.
Kaylee was exhausted from all the playing and a relatively short nap today, so its 7pm and DH is getting her to sleep quickly. Normally her bed time is around 8pm.
Just before bath time she fell and cut her lip with her teeth. Poor girly, her lip is now swollen and she was really unhappy. The tiredness didnt help much.
Yesterday she stood on the end of her little broom and it caught her just below her eye. So she has a scratch there too. Poor girl really in the wars this weekend no wonder she's tired!

I'm still not happy with her chest though, although we cant take her to the hospital again. So I'm giving her ACC200 to help keep it loose, and telfast to dry it up.
Will let her go back to the daymom tomorrow though cos she's not contagious and she does better with other kids around.

I am now 10 weeks along yipee!!! Really tends to drag on in the beginning. But only 3 more weeks and I'll be out of the first trimester! Still 2 weeks to go until my next scan though, but hopefully everything will be fine till then!
I have lost 4kgs since conceiving! All thanks to nausea that still comes and goes. Some days its really bad. But my pants are pretty loose which is nice, even though it wont last long!

It says on your scan that you are 12wks 4 days. so, your technician was able to able already, before 16 weeks? That is sooooo cool. I am dying to find out! I went earlier this week at 13weks 1 day and gynae said he couldn't/ wouldn't tell me yet as it was still too early to be sure

So glad your scare was only that.

Robyn as with me, once I had the cramps and the spotting it was already too late. Baby had been gone for 2 weeks already. Guess that's what's scared me the most now in subsequent pregnancies! But I definitely had a decrease in symptoms from week 8 and it happened at week 9.
And then with K I had early spotting and i thought it was the end. Also had some drama with her towards the end of the pregnancy where her growth was slowing down and the amniotic fluid becoming less so had an elective c/sec at 38w3d.
But this time around none of that which I'm so very grateful for, although I am wishing away the nausea now!

Elamsmom I am soooo happy that everything is fine and that the baby is also fine!!!
That must've been SUCH a scare! Please schedule the stitch as soon as you can, usually they do it around 13 weeks. Once you have an incompetent cervix in one pregnancy, the chances are it will happen again, and so the stitch is put in in advance to prevent even the smallest chance of it happening.
Your gynae's stand in sounds very nice in terms of the info he gave you!

Belaine I'm so sorry about your loss. What a shock to the system!
The same thing happened to my gran. It was Christmas day. We saw her that morning and she looked fine, and by 7pm she had passed away.

Mandz I must say I havent bought any mags this time around. I do a little bit of research online, its nice to know whats happening week by week but other than that trying not to be too obsessed, but I do spend a fair amount of time with my hand on my lower tummy, imagining my uterus growing
How is Jordyn doing now? Shame it's really awful when they are sick! We had a similar thing with recurring ear infections last year until she got grommets. It's really not lekker
Have they decided whether to operate or not? It's really young for tonsils hey, I always thought they dont do it before 3 cos until then it keeps other bugs at bay?

So did u have your gynae appointment and how did it go? How far along are you now?
Re the MS I had none with Kaylee so definitely not true. This time I have it all day. Altho I joke that it means its a boy, I know its not making any difference in that regard. It's just a different pg to last time.

I have been in hospital with Kaylee the last 3 days. The daymom got a cold around Wednesday last week, and by Friday she was so sick I decided to keep K home. Went out shopping with a friend. But by Sat morning she had so much phlegm in her chest and was coughing a lot. Because she was only 5 weeks post surgery, I wanted to take her straight to doc to get it treated, but decided to try wait it out and gave ACC200 the weekend. Monday morning it was even worse so I got an 8am appointment with my GP. He didnt feel it was anything bad but decided to call the Paed and rather have her go to the paed ward to get it checked out and get physio while there. They did bloods and sputem cultures and all came back negative for any major virus or bacteria but she still continued to produce loads of phlegm.
I think doc started worrying about her exposure to other virus's while there so decided to send us home with cortizone to help break down the phlegm and a course of antibiotics to fight the germs in the hospital.
So we got home yesterday afternoon, and although she is still coughing a lot she doesnt have as much phlegm anymore and seems to be on the mend.

We were meant to move house this weekend, but the tenant application has been delayed cos they need to provide bank statements which they need to go into a bank for and havent been able to. So we told the agent we need more time to pack, since we wont move out without having a tenant we cannot pack until a contract is signed, and 2 days is just impossible for that.
So if it gets approved this week still, we'll probably be moving out over easter weekend. Can you imagine if it was Saturday. It's also hubby's birthday, and with me being away 3 days this week and not able to send K to daymom till Monday, it would just be impossible!

Still suffering with MS. Luckily its not all day anymore, but seems to be worse in the late afternoon time. I lost all my breakfast and lunch today, and still felt queasy at supper time so didnt eat too much. Coke was helping last week but seems to aggrevate it now Same with the ginger beer strangely!
Other than that, I dont have any other symptoms. Boobs are normal, nipples are normal, I dont urinate frequently, and I am not extremely tired either. I'd rather have all of those than the MS but I guess I must be grateful!
I'm almost 10 weeks now Still another 2.5 till my next scan!
I can feel my uterus has grown. I'm sure if I had a flat tummy I'd already be showing. But I have a lot of whale fat hiding it so I just look fat!
