Congrts on the birth of your daughter LM! She is too cute!
Wow what a surprise that she made such an early appearance!

(I think this baby is here for the long haul so kind of jealous :O)

What is a semi-ambulatory epi btw?
The early weeks are really tough, a huge adjustment to the whole family.
Reflux would normally mean vomitting of what seems like full feeds up afterwards. All babies burp up some milk for a while after feeds, until about 4 months old.
Awesome how life changing it can all be hey! Life will never be the same :)

Robyn no news yet? Was D also late? Your gynae sounds wonderful! There is no need for an induction unless there are medical concerns.
Hope you are feeling better soon. I heard that women often get sick just about the time baby arrives. So maybe maybe?

AFM not much news. Baby still comfy. Started with my EPO and rasberry leaf tea yesterday. Seemed to get some braxton hicks which are apparently good for practice for the uterus. Baby still high up. Seeing gynae on Friday, will be 38 weeks, but dont expect much change.
I still have so much to do have been busy every day, so not much 'resting' going on here!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Good Morning Ladies!

A huge Congratulations to all the ladies who have had their little ones, hope all is going well!

I have been really quiet due the fact that I too had my little surprise on the 2 October 2012 @ 01.02am in the morning weighing 2.5kg - I had a little Girl and we named her Alexis Jordan Mayer.

I tried to go as natural as possible but the long labour and contractions were just so intense I opted for Pethadene which didnt help and then had an semi-ambulatory epidural which by that time of the night/morning was the best decision I had ever made! It has been a serious life change for me and DH, I think my LG has acid reflux will check with the sister on monday, I was unable to produce enough breastmilk at every feed which made things even worse so had to put her on formula! The upside to having such a precious gift is that she has really made me see another side to my DH, my lifes priorities have changed and further more Ive already lost over half my weight in a week lol.

Joybaby hope you get to have your VBAC.
Robyn Cant believe you still waiting hoping today is the day if its the most common delivery date!
Too whoever else hasnt had their little ones good luck!

Hi ladies
Congrats E'Mom, glad you managed to have the vbac you wanted.

Well, I'm 40 weeks today and still no sign-my tummy is just too homely
Went for a scan this morning but dr says she's still too comfy and happy
Discussed induction but she wants to wait for McK rather than interfering
Made another appt for next Mon so if she is t here by then we will def consider inducing
Oh and dr also put me on a course of antibiotics as I have a chest infection again
Scan said she weighs 3.6 but dr thinks she's more likely 3.4
Interestingly dr said the most common delivery date is actually 40wk2d which is Wed, so we'll see- will keep you all posted...

Hi again! Congrats elams mom! On the safe arrival of yr daughter, lovely name. I see im not the only one struggling with attention issues with the older sibling. It really is hard. Im definately going to consider the expressing in the next two weeks or so. Joy bany i had natural with my first baby and i did wrap my tummy as soon as i was home from the hospital, i wore the band for a month and my tummy was as flat as before the pregnancy, this time with a cesction, i cant do that so i wonder what my tummy will look like after.

Elamsmom that is great news! So happy that you got your vbac!
Re the challenges of a toddler, its bound to be hard as they dont understand that this little one is here to stay.
Does she go to school? I think I'm more convinced I need to keep Kaylee in school so that her normal isn't broken. It will be a hard adjustment, but from what I've seen a few months from now it'll be normal for them. Just try involve them as much as possible.

I wasnt intending on expressing milk, but reading your stories I think I may consider it, so that the feeding can be shared and I can give Kaylee some attention, for example at bath times, story times etc.

So I think there may only be 1 or 2 of us left?
I am 37 weeks now and seeing gynae on Friday for 38 week check up. Rather weird as I had K via scheduled c-sec at 38w3d and this time I'm hoping to wait it out till due date before agreeing to a csec.
First day at home, but havent done much relaxing yet. Got K ready for school, spent some time with her, dropped her, went grocery shopping, unpacked groceries and now catching up on emails etc. Think I'm going to have a nap now and then when I wake up must work on my tax return - medical cost recon, and then folding washing and cleaning up before fetching K at 5. Busy day!

Hopefully tomorr I can start taking it easier and get baby's clothes washed and packed. Also bought all the toiletries for hospital and the first month yesterday (R1000 later :() so can pack the hospital bag in the coming days :)
Just want to go buy a baby bag, and a new backpack for Kaylee.

Has anyone used those belly support bands for after pregnancy? My tummy was horrible after having K and it never really went back to normal, but R400 is a lot to spend on something that wont work.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hello ladies

Congrats to Betts and Emom(so happy you got your VBAC)
am so jealous but happy that God heard and answered your
prayers.Lovely and fiting names for your baby girl.

Betts I think stitches heal at six weeks but not sure. With my first
baby the healing was much quicker but this tym its taking forever.

@JB my babys birth weight was 3.9kg, he will be a week on wed
and we are still using no1. nappies

Yeah Monica glad all is falling into place, with time you will all adjust
to the new setup. I was reading your comment on bfeeding and
wondering for how long I can do it for. But yah its your body and
your baby at the end of the day.

Emom cant wait to read your birth story

Take Care all and good luck to those waiting.

Hi ladies

Kearapela (meaning "I Pray" in Sepedi) Mbasa Shogole was born on 4 October 2012 at 2:15pm via a Vbac weighing 3.41kg's. We call her Kea.

She is absolutely gorgoeous with long skinny limbs (like dad) and the tiniest little facial features. Looks a like like her sister did at birth but much skinnier and longer.

Was trying to write my vbac birthstory on the vbac support thread but my session expired  Will copy it over once i manage to get it all down.

She eats A LOT and seems to constantly be at my breast. Like, if she is awake, then she is nursing. The only time I rest is if she is asleep..I was not planning to express so soon, but now I am seriously considering it. so that she can feed using a bottle. My boobs are battered and bruised already! I did buy NAN no1, but i'll hold out on the formula for as long as I can.

The hardest part has been the effect on my 1st LG. She seems withdrawn and she cries a lot now, looking for attention I guess. it breaks my heart. I don't really know how to make it better for her. That's another reason why i want to start expressing so that Kea doesn't need to be at my breast all the time so that i can do more stuff with Elam. I don't know... :( Kea is just 4 days old :(

To those still waiting, hang in there and ENJOY THE TIME alone or with your 1st born while you can. I know the anticipation and waiting is frustrating but really, that's the beast advice I can give!
