Shew I have been quiet again, and now must catch up on everyone's stories! Sorry if I miss out on anyone

Joanie - wow Nicholas is a big lad, going to be a sportsman So wonderful about your new place, I'm sure it is going to be amazing and what a fab time to have a fresh start - everything is new!

MommyMe, there's still time to do that shopping spree hehe! I did mine last week We're just missing one or 2 luxuries now - like a baby rocker and a play mat, but those we will be getting with next months pay check We had my baby shower and got wonderful gifts, and then my hubby's sister also organised a 'man baby shower' for all the guys. Basically they all came over and watched rugby and had a braai but they all had to bring nappies. So it was hilarious seeing the nappies these guys bought because they have no clue! Some of them bought sizes big enough for a 12 month old But we have a seriously good stock of nappies now! I hear you with the heartburn, mine started last week and I am not a happie chappie about it haha!

Nadia, good luck with your exams! Almost there! Can't believe how time is flying! You're right, from next month we will probably be seeing some birth stories I think! You are so lucky you have a set maternity leave date. I am literally working until I pop I work 1km from my hospital and work with a bunch of doctors and one is actually a fertility expert so I reckon I'm in the best place anyway haha!

Ok I've probably missed out on a lot of stories - my apologies! Also I am REALLY bad at afrikaans terrible I know. But it happens when you have a mostly british family and grew up in Durban....I try though. haha!

AFM, my gestational diabetes is going alright, just battling to get into the swing of things and my sugar levels keep dropping and I get really dizzy. I am still having natural birth, unless there are complications, but they will monitor me and all should be good. The only thing is that he may have to come a bit earlier to prevent any complications. So will know in December! I was shopping for stuff for my hospital bag on sunday and started getting serious pains that I haven't had before and really thought I was going into premature labour - so rushed to hospital and they monitored me and it was minor contractions, and it was caused by a bladder infection! Apparently that can cause prem labour! Anyway, was pumped full of meds and stayed in hospital for 2 days and all is good now! So that was quite scary! But luckily little Nathan is staying in the oven for a bit longer hehe!

Otherwise nothing much else, I am just ALWAYS tired Work is really crazy, but still loving it!

Speaking of, I just realised I'm late for a meeting. OOPS! Pregnancy brain!

Hi everyone!

Glad to hear everyone is still doing well.

I was at the doc today, Nicholas is weighing in at a whopping 2.5kg and I'm only 32 weeks along, so he's pretty massive. He seems to have hubby's big feet but he has my toes (second toe longer than big toe) so cute! We tried to get a profile but he was squashing his face into my uterus the whole time, haha.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one nesting! I'm feeling a bit tired at the moment and my back is hurting a bit, but I shouldn't complain. We spent the weekend working on the baby room, painted the one wall and we're gonna be doing a little whale pattern on it next weekend. We also bought a bouncer chair for babs, assembled it which was quite the task. We've pretty much bought too much for Nic already, so everything is just kind of waiting on his arrival now. Even my (.)(.)s are ready (been springing a couple of leaks lately ) At home my mom is doing some last minute renovations for us before we move in, going absolutely above and beyond, so things are just busy busy busy. But we're looking forward to meeting our little one and settling into our new life, it really will be a completely fresh start for us.

MommyMe glad to hear the bleeding has stopped! We also got a few hand-me-downs from my cousin, and other than that everyone gave us cute outfits so we really have a lot of clothes. I'm also with you on the light heartburn, I keep the tums handy on my bedside table

Nadia I feel your pain. Even though we have a TON of baby things, it still feels like the list never stops! But getting there slowly, also still need to get my things for the hospital.

Alicia goodluck met die eksamens! Ons het albei lekker groot seuns lyk dit my. Ek gaan maar ook keiser, want 'n 4kg baba gaan verseker nie dit verby my ou klein heupies maak nie. En ja, hoe lekker is suiker nie nou nie! Ek probeer maar die gesond ook inkry maar ek kan nie help om stout te wees nie haha.

Hi everyone

Nadia im 29 weeks today. See youre almost 31 . I cant wait for 30 weeks. And like you i actually havnt bought anything yet except for 1 or 2 outfits and some nappies. Eish. Big shopping spree starting from end Nov. Then i will have space to put everything. Hubby is going to build a cot and we decided on a pram.just need to go buy it. Other than that i have loads of clothes from my sister in law.just need to sort the sizes. And see what i still need. Some still have tags on.

Other than that feeling ok. Had ankle pain and left leg was numb whole day yesterday. Light heartburn that comes and goes. And some days feeling a bit more tired. Bleeding stopped now for a day.

Seeing midwife next week and doc only again in Dec.

when and how are everyone else going for scans from here on? 2 weekly?

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing? Can't believe that we are in the home stretch again! Feels a little surreal.

From next month it's a very real possibility that we'll be getting our very first birth stories!

I'm writing exams this week. Can't wait to get those out of the way so I can focus on baby's arrival. Feels like I have a ton of stuff that I still need to get!

Pretty much sorted on the big things but need to get mattress and bedding for crib, baby clothes, hospital bag stuff, pads, breast pads, feeding bras etc etc!

Seems like so much to do still! Anyone that still has a long list of items to purchase? Feels like I was much more organised the first time around.

Health wise how is everyone feeling and doing? I'm counting down to my maternity leave on 12 Dec! Not long to go now but rather exhausted!

Hoop die naarheid en bloeding klaar gou op. Ek is bly jy vat dit rustig.

Ek is n regsadviseur vir die hernubare energie industrie, so die laat aande is te danke aan groot son/wind/hydro elektriese projekte wat gefinaliseer moet word.

Ek keiser. My eerste was n keiser, en omdat daar so min tyd tussen die eerste keiser en ons tweede een se geboorte datum is, kan ek nie eers probeer VBAC nie. Ten minste weet ek die keer wat om te verwag! Alles was beplan vir normale geboorte met my eersteling, en dit was nogal n skok vir my toe dit nie so uitgewerk het nie. Ek was doodbang vir keiser.

AFM - al wat ek kan se is he n geboorteplan, maar wees voorbereid op alle moontlikhede, veral as jy soos ek daarvan hou dat dinge volgens plan verloop. Ek was so geset op normale geboorte dat ek alles oor keiser in die voorgeboortelike klasse en boeke ignoreer het, en toe is ek baie op my senuwees en heeltemal onvoorbereid vir die keiser.

Ek het nou die dag probeer om fototjies op te laai mar dink ons netwerk was bietjie stadig. Sal nou weer probeer.

Hoop dit gaan nog goed met almal, ek het gister by die huis gebly, die bloeding het weer opgedaag deur die nag Maandag aand/Dinsdag oggend so toe vat ek dit maar rustig, was ook so effe naar en net nie lekker gevoel nie. Nog ni heeltemal weg nie,mar darem weer beter vandag.

Robyn sorry to hear about GB. Thinking of you. Does it mean you will have to get c section or can you still try for normal? and do you want to try for normal?
Good luck and keep us posted. I have also done my hospital admission,but still need to book my bed, when are you supposed to do that?

Alicia,by ons 27 weke scan het sy 1.144 geweeg en toe 3 dae later 1.232kg. so ek dink sy groei normaal volgens die datums. Sy meet so 5 daggies of so vroeer,so ek verwag ook sy gan so biki vroeer kom. Maar gee nie om nie, net wanneer sy reg is. Ek het omtrent so amper 9kg al opgetel. tot en met laasweek (27 weke),so hoop nie ek tel nog te veel op nie. My maag voel redelik massive en kan begin voel my bene sit ook lekker uit. Hulle se mens tel die meeste in 3de trimester op ne

Joans,dit klink so bekend, die nesting het my ook nog ni gelos nie,ek dink dit raak net erger. Maar ek is nie so erg op die kos en bak nie,maar dat als reg moet springclean en geskuif en als moet word. Het darem goeie nuus,ons huis is weer terug na normaal teen einde Nov met familie, so dit maak darem n paar goed baie makliker. Sien baie uit.

Who is doing normal birth and who have already/are planning a ceasar? Let me know then I will make a list for us. if you want.
