Eek Joanie that's so exciting! Hope all goes well and contractions aren't too painful!

Mommyme I hope the bleeding stops! Best to go to the doc tomorrow, right decision!

Well my doc was unhelpful. I phoned and explained everything and her secretary said if I feel bad I must just go into maternity ward and they'll admit me. So I didn't even speak to the doctor.

I decided to stay at home and just relax and monitor things. I am really nauseous and sick and constant backache and braxton hicks, but for now I'm just lying down. I'm so tired as well!

Anyway! Good luck ladies! Seems things are happening all around!!! Xxx

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick update. Just got back from the doc and I'm in early labor! We scheduled a c-section for thursday morning, if I even make it that far, as I'm having quite a few contractions, but still very low intensity. Very exciting! Will keep you guys posted from my phone, and forgive me if I drop off the face of the planet for a while

Thanks for the replies :)

I'm going to phone my doctor now - even though she never actually talks so me it's always her secretary telling me what to do. So I'll see what she says. Otherwise I will just go into maternity ward.

MommyMe - so glad to hear your baby shower was great! I'm sure you'll get the room done in time :) These hormones and emotions are crazy hey! Feels like a rollercoaster every single day.

The reason why I stuck with my hospital and gynae was because I had been through so much with her, 2 miscarriages and quite an eventful pregnancy thus far. My hubby has never liked her and never felt comfortable, says she's too clinical and has no warmth. But I always insisted we just stick with her because ultimately I was too scared to change from someone who knew my history so well. But now looking back, I should have changed. Anyway!

It's not so much that I mind being admitted if something is wrong and baby does need to be monitored - but the problem comes in when they treat me like an idiot and don't tell me what's going on and then admit me and literally leave me there for hours before even coming to talk to me. That's happened twice as well! It's making me super stressed, which can't be good for Nathan.

Anyway! sorry for the ranting! Emotional day haha!

thanks again for the replies xxx

Morning everyone

Wow what a weekend, had my baby shower on Saturday, total surprise. Was planning on doing the hospital tour and hubby had arranged with them in advance if we come in they should say its cancelled or something, so they did and I was livid!!! :headbang: I ranted so much really wanting to do the tour and ask some questions, but shame they just tried to help. haha.

Got some really cute stuff, not much cleaning products, but I have the very sensitive eczema as well, so will go buy myself.

Very very busy with preparing the baby room. total make over happening, eish, was very emotional last night panicking we wont get everything done in time, but hubby is so relaxed.

Busy doing last filing and stuff at work this week, hope I make it, trying to take it real easy. Getting very sharp stinging pains in tummy (middle) then goes away again, hope its nothing major.

Blessed wow amper daar, jy moet elke oomblik van Desember geniet en probeer beslis update op jou foon. So exciting!!!

Joans glad the BP is stable. When is your c -section again?

Robs, my dear, that is not nice. you need to feel completely safe and happy with your gynae and if I were you, make a plan like today still to move. I asked someone once when is the last you can move and they said, never. you need to be completely relaxed and feel secure with your gynae going into your birth. Otherwise you take that fear with you and it can cause a terrible experience.

I don't think you are overacting or over emotional, I think you have all the right to feel like this.

Why don't you consider a midwife in hospital? I feel so relaxed after deciding to go with the midwife, and gynae as back up.

I can refer you to someone that would be able to assist in getting the correct midwife. She can do the delivery as they are very capable and I promise you she will look after you since the moment you call her. I also felt my gynae was just rumbling off every appointment and I felt to stupid for asking something im not sure about or noting them every time I have the bleeding etc. I mean at the end of the day you just want your baby safe and will do anything to have that and look after yourself at the same time. you are not supposed to feel you are doing something wrong or being a hassle.

Please please consider going to someone else. it will really be good for you and baby not to have that stress. if you transfer, the new gynae/midwife will just get all the info on your file.

Let me know should you want some contact details and what area you are in again, I will help you find out if you want. Big hug!

Hi Robyn,

don't worry, you're not alone with the hormonal thing, I've also been quite a nigthmare to deal with recently :P I've also had some pains on and off the past two weeks, I've noticed it's when Nic moves in a certain way, it causes like a stabbing pain either in what I believe to be my cervix, or a shooting pain down my leg. Assuming that it's some nerve points he occasionally touches on. Other than that I've also been experiencing some discomfort leaning forward and turning around at night. Also been having slightly uncomfortable braxton hicks quite regularly the past 2-3 days. So I'm defs insisting that my doc do an internal exam again tomorrow to check what's happening down there. It does seem like the doctors are REALLY busy at the moment in general, so I can imagine that they are a bit side-tracked. I'm very lucky to be with hubby's aunt, but even so I can see that she's running around much more than usual and struggling to be as attentive as usual. I know it must be frustrating when they always admit you to the hospital, but if your gut tells you the pain isn't normal then I would definitely call the doc, even if that means another stint in the maternity ward. Rather safe than sorry!

Nadia with the hospital pj's I have one button down set from woolies which was my splurge, but as it's summer and really hot I've also read that spaghetti strap tops work really great for breastfeeding, so I have two sets of those as well. They're cheap, easy to find and nice and cool, also because they are sets of tops and pants I can't see it being an issue when the doc needs to inspect stitches/incisions and so on, so I reckon that will work. (but I might still put in some yoga pants regardless, love them so much!)

Hope everyone is doing well and not too uncomfortable!
