Morning Ladies

Sorry you couldn't see anything on the 4d scan Maries. Ours didn't go completely according to plan, she is a bit behind the placenta and her head is buried in my pelvis (no wonder i have been in so much pain), but we go her out a little and got a few pics. She looks exactly like me when i was a baby. The lady we went to was so nice, she scheduled us another appointment in 2 weeks for free so we can try and get another few pictures.

I have no idea how much my Dr charges for delivery, but we are also on CAMAF and so far with every hospitalization we had everything was covered. But it probably all depends on what type of plan you are on and probably your savings as well

I haven't really bought any clothes, but between the two grandmothers it hasn't been necessary for me to buy anything. All my cupboards are overflowing with clothes, from newborn till she is 1 year old event the fleece blankets and towels. But i have had a look at the clothes at Ackermans and its gorgeous.

About deciding on what type of birth. I have been wanting to give birth natural before i got pregnant. Did so much research and for me its all about the recovery afterwards and for that natural birth is best, but i will be using epidural. Im not so brave as to go without it. I just want to refrain from getting an induction. I feel you put baby through so much more stress, its better to opt for C-Section in that case.

Nixy its bad that the CT expo so late in the year. Durban where i am is luckily not to long after baby born so we will wait for that one. But they do say its worth going to the Joburg one and its the best there is. We will try to arrange a trip after baby is born to go to the second one in Joburg later in the year as well.

All my nesting is done and dusted luckily, baby room is completely finished and all the hospital bags are packed and ready. Which is nice because with all my aches and pains i have not had energy to do much, but they say it changes the closer you get to your due date. Lets hope so.

I'm doing great, just get really tired some days. Carrying really small again this time, happy about that. Trying to drag my ass to gym but it's so difficult, it's also starting to get really cold...

I ordered some clothes from this awesome website I found, check it out ladies it's quite cheap - za.nextdirect.com/en/newborn Almost bought everything on there... lol

Hi Antz... Glad to see that you have started getting things ready and in nesting phase. How are you feeling?

I'm also not having a baby shower. So need to buy stuff. I'm sure I will have one at work though.

Nixy, it would be great for you to come to the baby expo. I take the kids for the barney show as well. Keeps them occupied.
I think you should get 0 to 3 months clothing to be on the safe side...

Where are you ladies buying clothes from? I haven't been looking at all.

Maries, my boyfriend is in that line of work so I'm on his medical aid. They seem quite good and they cover 100% rates for hospital so I'm hoping it's all covered!

I've bought baby's coming home outfit and a pair of panda booties/shoes/slippers (not sure what to call them!) Baby clothing is so cute but I have no idea what sizes to buy as big babies run in our family

Sara, I tried to get my boyfriend to agree to us flying up to Joburg for the expo but he won't let me All the expos in Cape Town are only after my little one is born.

Glad to see everyone is doing well expect for the heartburn, I have heartburn too but its not that bad.
I am exactly 28 weeks today, went for another checkup today and everything is looking great. Healthy and happy baby boy!

The nesting phase has hit me hard, I have turned my house upside down sorting all the crap, reorganising and repainting too. Waiting for my nursery furniture to arrive in about 2 weeks.

I have started buying baby clothes and some essentials, not having a baby shower this time...

My due date is 23rd July but my csection is scheduled for the 16th of July, it will be my second and really anxious about. Not looking forward to the pain so you not alone Sara...

Thanks for the reminder... I am definitely going for the baby expo. Nappies are always a real bargain there.

I am also nervous about the csection. I even dream about it. Not looking forward to the pain!

Nixy, isn't CAMAF for CA's? They should cover 100% hospitalisation at least!

Has anyone bought any baby clothes? I haven't.... Feel like time is running out. My hospital bag hasn't even been thought of. Think I will start this weekend.

i have also been having sever heartburn, Gaviscon does help, but i have heard an old wives table which states if ur baby has a lot of hair than u'l have a bad heartburn, with my first born it was true, she was a very hairy baby

also especially at nites i have been getting cramps in my legs while sleeping they r quite painful, i guess these are all blessings of 3rd trimester

I would like to remind you guys about the Mama Magic Baby expo at Coco-cola dome, Jburg 14th - 17th May, i have been there when i was expecting our first child and personally liked it, maybe some of you would also want to go there to pack baby essentials.

Most of you ladies are lucky to have 4 months maternity leave, i am an Independent Consultant thus no formal leave structure for me, but still m finishing my current project in early june.

My doc has booked me for c-section on 8th July, and i must admit that though this is my 2nd csar, i am really getting nervous a bit scared too...anyone in the same boat as me
