Ontong my fingers are crossed that you get to see your little one's face!

I'm with CAMAF medical aid and they only cover 100% rates and some gynaes are known for charging up to 400% rates. Plus he wants R6500 up front 2 weeks before my due date

He charges R14000 for both natural and C-section. I'm trying natural but if any problems arise then I'm not against a C-section.

My visits are also over R600.

Seeing the amount they charge makes me want to rethink my career choice LOL.

They say if you carry higher then you can suffer with heartburn.

I am having a csection. This will be my third one. Also tying my tubes at the same time.

I have no idea how much the birth costs. It is cheaper for natural birth. I am going through the medical aid, still need authorisation numbers.

My doctor visits are over R600. Takes a lot out of my savings!

I cant wait for my 4d scan booked on the 2 June only. Hope I will be able to see something as with all the other scans have not been able to figure out anything.

I had a C Section previously and I had a bad infection on my wound afterwards therefore the Dr Suggested it would be best and I also had my appendix removed in between the birth and now. He says the infection could have caused a lot of scar tissue which could have some risks if I gave normal birth.

Gaviscon is gross but certainly helps heartburn - milk is a quick fix for me. I find that my heartburn is the worst after eating white bread or tomatoes! I also think if baby moves a lot it causes heartburn? No idea.

I'm due the 25th of July. I'm taking 13 days annual leave from the 15th of July until the end of July and then my 4 months maternity leave starts on the 1st of August. I just pray that baby stays in there until after I start my leave!

Maries, I had the same problem with our 4D scan last week Our little monkey would not uncover his face and turned further away the more we poked him around. So I just have plenty pictures of arms, legs and his ears LOL.

How did you ladies decide on doing C-section or natural or are you still deciding?

Have any of you found out how much the gynae is charging and how much the hospital charges for the birth? My gynae is charging R14000 for the birth and that's excluding pathology or the anaesthetist

Gaviscon is not a nice taste, but it helps a lot!

I also have to take a month before my due date but I have been told that I can work up to my due date if I get a letter from my doctor stating that I am still fit to work. I rather have an extra month at home with the baby.

I went for the 4D scan this morning but could not see anything His hands and legs covered his face. Tried shaking my tummy so he could move but he didn't budge. So I guess I will meet him in person!

I haven't really been taking anything except milk, don't like gavascon, but I will try it cause its really getting painful.

Im taking 4 months Maternity leave, finishing off work on the 31 May and then will be at home from June but going in for my C section on the 10 July. At our Work you need to take a month off before your due date but atleast I"ll be at home during winter.

Ontong, what are you having for the heartburn? I take the pink bottle gaviscon. it helps a lot.

Hbwomen my 4d scan is also tomorrow. Let's compare notes when we done. Mine is at 9am. 31 weeks this week. Booked my bed and my csection for 26 June. Waiting till the end because I have so much work to still do.

How many maternity leave do you ladies get? I only get 4 blocked months. Wish it could be longer...
