I think it's all personal preference, really. There's no "bad" product on the market these days. I don't think I'd use a Checkers/Pep bottle, but any of the big brands in the baby shops are just fine. Mind you, by far the bigger part of the population uses Pep (etc) bottles, their babies have no problems!
Bottle-type is actually a very tricky topic, you'll find 5 different women using 5 different bottles, and they each defend their decision by saying that their bottle's teat is the closest to mom's nipple. I find that so funny! It's preference and cost in my opinion, and bottles are all pretty expensive regardless the brand.
I'm a huge Avent-fan, used the products for my daughter and doing the same again. It really lasts. I bought 2 small ones and 4 big ones, the small ones are used for her dolls now, but the 4 bigger ones are still in use.
Car seats and prams is a big research topic on your end, figure out what your budget is first, then go and see what's available. Don't get distracted by something outside your prize range, the shop will always try to sell you the more expensive item. Depending on what pram you buy, you may get baby's first car seat with it, they can sit in that for the first 12 months. When you look at prams, consider the size of your car's boot and make sure it collapses to a size that will fit. A pram with a basket underneath is really helpful too.
