LADIES DUE SEPTEMBER 2015 :-)

Hi girls,

Feels liks a Monday today...

I had a productive day yesterday, I packed our hospital bags (except for a few items that I can't pack now or minor items that I haven't bought yet). But clothes and toiletries are in, felt so surreal to put everything together.

Dischem phoned me to collect my baby bag on Monday, I'm really impressed and received some great products. Apparently the bag is standard, but the content differs according to each branch. Anyways, I was happy and it was a nice freebie. The bag itself is of good quality and handy as a 2nd nappy-bag.

My little girl's 3rd birthday is on Saturday, been busy with party arrangements for 2 weeks now. I'm looking forward to it because we've really gone through a lot of effort, I'm just not sure how I'll cope with hosting 30 adults and 15 kiddies. It's a lot in my current "condition".

Who's started their nurseries? We are starting some building renovations on 1 July, our current study is going to become the new nursery. So I'll have to wait until start of Aug for building to finish before I can start my baby's room. I'm not great at waiting, but it can't be helped!

I think ill get all the big stuff now like cots,car seats and prams now then the rest ill wait for the expo hopefully ill find reasonable prices there.Does anyone know how much they usually charge the tickets for Mamma Magic and the Expo?

I'm due for my next dr's appointment next Monday, will be 27.5weeks then. Then at 32 weeks again, and at 34, 36, 37 and 38 weeks. Can't believe it's so few visits left, time has flown.

TCS84, I looooove Mama Magic, I've been going every year for the last 3 years and this year was the best so far. Not sure how it works in DBN, but in JHB the expo runs from Thu - Sun. I took leave on the Friday to go, best decision because the weekends are absolutely diabolical. Also, you get free entry on a Thu/Fri (tickets at BabyCity).

When you get there, go to the BabyCity stand first, it's enormous and it gets really busy to the point where people have to queue for more than an hour at the tills to pay. This is where you'll find all the bottles, nappies, and general baby stuff that you'll need.

I must admit that I never found that it was worth waiting to buy a pram/cot/car seat there. They have really great specials on the bigger brands like Stokke and Jeep, but those are your really high end items and I was never going to spend r10k on a pram (special or not!).

Things that I found was cheaper at the show: everything in the Carriwell range (cheaper by at least 15%), nappies, baby food, toiletries somewhat cheaper, lots of toys (fisher price, tiny love etc) are on special, the odd item like breast pads, angelcare nappybin, certain wipes, etc. My best buy was an Avent microwave sterilizer for R350, retail price is R599.

I have my Drs app today. 28 weeks. Does anyone else see there Dr every 2 weeks now that it's 3rd trimester?

Ladies, that Mama magic expo will be in Durban mid August I think. For those that have been, do they have good discounts on Prams etc? Is it worthwhile waiting for the expo?
