Hello!
Berry, you have my sympathy! Letting my daughter go to daycare was the hardest thing I've ever done. Lucky (or unlucky!) for me, I never had a choice in the matter. I had to go back to work after maternity leave, so there never was a time when I could've pondered and wondered about what I wanted to do. It was something that was going to be a reality when she was 4 months old, so I started very early in my pregnancy to find the right place. It was extremely difficult to drop her off initially, I cried the whole first week although she never did!
We moved and she went to a proper nursery school when she was 18 months old, that was almost worse because although I was used to the idea by then, she cried for about 2 weeks at first. It's almost another 18 months later and she's thriving, she's so social and learning so quickly. They learn and grow so much once they start going to "school". Her language development is far ahead of kids her age and I'm sometimes flabbergasted to hear the things she says.
Finding the right place is really difficult, but you'll know when you walk in if you'd leave your child there. Our new baby will be joining his sister (also at 4+ months) in their baby section, and this time around I'm much more relaxed about it. During my previous maternity leave I started crying around my 3rd month in, because I knew what was coming. And as you all know I'm a control freak, letting go of my child was the absolute worst (and best) thing that ever happened to me. It's insanely difficult to leave such a little baby with someone else, unless there is a grandma or relative you can lean on.
TCS I'm glad you're ok after your fall! That's so scary, just shows all of us how quickly things can change. Ladies, I'm feeling that it's time to get our bags ready in the next 2 weeks or so. I'm praying for a full-term baby, but once again the control freak thinks we need to be prepared! TCS being case and point. Shall we start a list for our baby-bag requirements, i.e. what to pack for baby for hospital? I'll start the list just now, and then you can all add what you think I've missed? I think I can remember most of it, being a "repeat offender"
Tanzie I still think about you often, and I wish you'd send us a proper update of how things are going with you. Are you trying again?
And as for me, doing great. Finally! Normal pregnancy aches and pains, but finally there's nothing that makes me stand out from you guys. EXCEPT that I've gained 9kg already. I nearly had a fit when I saw my scale. My previous gain was 20kg and I promised myself I wouldn't get that far again, but I'm only 25 weeks now and 20kg seems well within my striking range.
