Hi mamas

If anyone is looking for a compactum, there's a Chelino one for R1500 on Groupon. Don't know how much of a special it is though 'cause I think they only cost about that much at Babies R Us.

Good Morning Ladies

I just came back from my 28 week scan and thought I'll give everyone an update.

First of all baby is doing great he weighs in at 1.4kilos  which is big for 28 weeks and the best part is my doctor mentioned when I stepped in that I am carrying very small and he has no idea where I am hiding the 1.4 kilo baby  I think I will start growing in the next month.

So baby is doing very well and I am doing very well (Except for a little blood pressure but we are monitoring it and the doctor isn't worried)

@HoopVirDieBeste - I did my hospital tour and they opened a file for me and they showed me around a bit and I got all my codes from my doctor and everything seems to be falling into place. :)

I was a little disappointed that Kloof only has semi-private rooms (Two in a room) but the rest was very organised and the staff seemed very competent as well.

I also confirmed with my doctor and he said that my due date for the c-section is the 10th of Nov (I will be 39 weeks then)

So 9 weeks and 3 days to Go :woohoo:

Hi ladies

Ah... those scans look gorgeous. I'm so eager/anxious for my next scan (two weeks from Monday). Won't be 4D since I decided that it isn't a priority in relation to other things for El, pity we didn't get a voucher or anything for one from the hospital.

@Juanita - thanks for the concern. I decided to stay home and rest out my cold. When I woke up my chest was a bit tight and the coughing followed again. So I slept most of the morning away and spent the whole day in bed. Feeling much better today. I'd rather not take the chance and risk getting more sick.

@Aden - sending hugs. It's such an emotional time! I'm feeling a bit better after the incident the other week, but still having so much anxiety and excitement in varying ratios! Hope you feel better.

For the mommies going to the JHB Babysense seminar this weekend - enjoy!

@Kimmy - it's probably just the normal preamble on package inserts. Because the product hasn't been tested in pregnant/breastfeeding women, most companies will cover themselves and say that it shouldn't be used just in case. As far as the probiotics go, there was a discussion a few days ago. HVDB said that they'd been mentioned in her antenatal class. Some mommies here swear by them, my recommendation as a pharmacist is to use them if there is a need such as irritable bowel, etc (I don't suggest just "sommer" taking them though). Just on that stance, I don't like recommending a lot of supplements, especially not to take "just because" as my honest opinion is that a lot of products available are not necessarily needed. The companies and marketers will tell you that you "need it", but a lot of them are very poorly regulated, the Medicines Control Council has only recently started to clamp down on them. I'm the same with pharmaceuticals, I don't recommend taking things unless you need them.

AFM, my SIL will be painting the mural on Sunday so the nursery will be that much closer to completion  DH bought our LG a cd/dvd player for her bedroom (so we can play the different lullabies and such for her) and set it up nicely. And we'll be taking her on her first "holiday" at the end of January 'cause we'll be going to Cape Town to watch Mumford and Sons :woohoo:

I've decided to try exchange the size 4 nappies that I have at Baby City for some smaller sizes.

Morning mommies,

@Kimmy i also use the cranberry tabs from dischem and it also says "safety during pregnancy hasnt been established" but my dr assured me its fine to take. since ive been taking them i havent had a uti which is very good in my books!

Our garden is so dry and dull and it doesnt help that our gardener has gone home for 2 months :S Counting the days till he gets back end Sept!! The place looked so much nicer when he was around. i think he's going to have a fit if he sees we've only been maintaining it   Ah well  Hopefully the rain will do its magic.

Yesterday and last night i suffered so badly from pain in my lower tummy (pubic bone area) i just wanted to ball up and cry it was so bad. thank goodness hubby organised Leandi and supper and and ... just chilling on the bed with a hot water bottle really seemed to do the trick and i feel so much better today.

Hope everyone has a good day, i love this weather but it always puts me in a bit of a depro mood :(

Morning moomies!

@Aden, the rain am sure yoyr garden will look better, atleast thats what am hoping for on my side, looking at it used to depress me

  the scans, cant get over them!!

Quick question, baby sometimes sits on my bladder, which can really feel uncomfy, i normally used to take natrodale cranberry, but now i cant find them anywhere, i cant stand the actual cranberry juice.
yesterday DH got me some tabs at the pharmacy, the pharmacist gave him holistic cranberry, it was plain, but it was written should be avoided when pregnant, i dont know why she did that, the last time she gave me wrong meds too when i had flu
and probiotics, but i dont know if i should take those, has anyone suffered that, if so what you taking??
am only seeing my dr next week wednesday.
