Morning ladies!
Wow it has been busy here!
Firstly, Zandri, so sorry to hear you are stuck in hospital, and (possibly) for quite a few weeks. And about you Dr going on leave

Yes I know they have to take time off too, but I would also be very upset in your position. I am sure you will be in good hands though, and maybe look at it this way - if he was going to go on leave anyway, perhaps the hospital is the best place for you during that time so you can receive round-the-clock care even while he is away.
LouiseMarie, your pics are awesome, and looks like you had a lot of fun. Thanks for the info on the placenta! That is really interesting, I wasn't aware of any of this being an option in SA, when I had my LG 3 years ago it was definitely not discussed. I also had a calcified placenta, at 38 weeks, so never got to see it either. Taking into account all your info, I guess I will give it a skip as well. Going the capsule route might have been an option if, as you say, one can be absolutely sure all is above board, but I am NOT up for giving it the old home treatment

Will have to rely on Jungle Juice and Rescue as a first pass for my breastfeeding and to keep away baby blues.
Kimmy, I also have a bit of a loose tummy, but it seems to be normal for me. I had it with my first LG as well. As long as it is not diarrhea with cramping etc I'm sure it is nothing to worry about.
Lauz, your little girl looked SO CUTE! Really glad she had such a nice time! Our turn is coming up in 2 weeks time, just 2 weeks before my C-sect... I am a bit nervous but all the invites have gone out so too late to back out now.
PP, I also didn't know what baby oil was for until our antenatal classes last time. Apparently it is good to put a few drops in the bath water, so their soft little skins dont get dry. That's all we ever used it for, but this time round we might just use olive or coconut oil, much more natural. And for cradle cap we were advised to use olive oil anyway. Also, the midwife recommended "washing" a newborn or young baby only with aqueous cream, fragrance free. Nothing with any soap in, as their little skins arent mature yet, and dries out very quickly. Which reminds me, we got a massive fright when my first LG started peeling in the first week. Like what would happen to skin after bad sunburn, her skin just came off in little bits. And apparently that is quite normal, so if it happens, don't be freaked out like we were
PP, do you have cats or dogs? We also went through the routine of getting our dogs used to a baby last time, to the point that we were carrying a doll around in nappies. Massive mistake for my dog though (he is not the brightest peanut in the packet, poor boy). It was a "slaappop" with eyes that open and close, you know. When we picked up the doll so he could have a sniff, her eyes opened and he had the biggest scare of his life! He ran the bathroom door (a sliding door) right of its hinges to get away

It took us the best part of 4 months just to get him desensitised to dolls again, so that he wouldn't try to save the baby from her scary dolls. When my daughter did arrive, he never had any issues with her, even when she cried all night from colic. He would just give a loud sigh, give her a sniff and go lie down in his bed, as if to say "sorry, doesn't seem like there's anything I can do". Typical male.
AFM, was at the gynae for 24 week visit this morning. LG has picked up about 300g, now measuring 2.27kg. So all is well. We sommer arranged for sterilisation for me while they do the c-sect. That's one less thing
That's it from my side, hope you ladies have an awesome week!
