i suffer from serious insomnia , baby has a tendency of moving alooot at night, i hope he wont be like this when he gets here, sleep during the day then up at night..

@Kimmy i never wanted to have a babyshower in the first place, wanted a intimate lunch with each of my close friends but then i got pressured into it and now they backed out Thats why I decided to just call off the whole thing and go with my original plan.
It is really sad as i think this was the last straw for our 15+ years friendship

On the sore nipples, maybe you should keep some nipple shields handy for the first couple of days?? I do know that they say if baby is latched correctly it shouldn't hurt but my nipples were so sore, and bleeding after 1 day I nearly gave up bf there and then. Thank goodness hubby brought some nipple shileds to hospital, was a real lifesaver!!

@juanita sorry mommy hugs , but don't you want to give them time to sort out their differences before cancelling?
Breastfeeding, the first time it hurt so bad!! My nipples used to be cracked, did it for 3 months and was done, lucky my baby didnot care much he was ok with bottle, this time around i want to try for 6 months atleast. Will see how it goes

@Aden - it's actually an antipsychotic. Either that or metoclopramide (usually used for nausea/vomiting or reflux) are often prescribed off-label to increase milk supply. But as Juanita said, it's a last resort.

Yes, we were told about Brewers yeast in our antenatal classes. So I have that in mind, what's great is that it's also cheap! Similac mom was also recommended as a supplement. Thanks LouiseM, Juanita and HVDB. I was just something I was wondering about. I think that since I've hardly had any breast changes during my pregnancy it's been weighing on my mind. I always find something to worry about

Thanks for all the info about the leaking and breastfeeding. My friend was prescribed eglanol for an increase in milk supply and it worked wonders. I was just wondering, is Eglanol not an Anti-depressant? I guess it's safe if so many mommies use it. I'll definitely try the Brewers Yeast, if necessary. Thanks for the tip LouiseMarie.

HVDB - it's magic mamma juice!!!

My friend who gave birth last week, was given Eglanol the day after birth... On Wednesday evening (48 hours after birth) her milk came in and it was a nightmare!!! Cause your milk naturaly comes in 24 to 72 hours from birth... now she had to deal with the extra supply due to the eglanol as well!!! So over the weekend she developed mastitis...

For the life of me I don't know why her dr gave her Eglanol before her milk suply came in...

But as a future reference if you struggle with milk supply - Brewers Yeast tablets works magic!!! But first wait to establish your milk production...
