Hi all

Just got back from my appointment!
All looks good, baby is sitting upright with legs crossed right on top of my bladder :P I was hoping to just get a 2nd look at his boy parts, just to make sure, but it was impossible.
We got some creepy photos of him looking like a skeleton and we saw him opening and closing his mouth a few times, Dr said he was swallowing fluid! So we got some pics of him with his mouth open.
DF says he looks like a dinosaur because his nose and mouth look quite prominent... lol. I'm sure it's normal though.
He didn't give us babies length but estimated that he weighs 118g! When I got home I weighed some things, and that's about as much as a smallish apple
My placenta has also lifted off my cervix, but it's now anterior, directly in front of baby, so I might not be feeling any kicks for a while   Anybody had an anterior cervix? When did you feel baby?

TanyaS - Our MrP has a maternity section, but you can also do online shopping. I usually do that because they have a bigger selection than in store.

AnaB - I'm sorry that you're having such a rough time! I really and truly am. Please don't feel bad to vent and complain on here, that's what we're here for! I really hope that the worst is behind you now, and that hubby will find a new job soon. I'm so sorry you're going through all this, just take it day by day, and soon you will have your precious bundle and it will all be behind you. enjoy your scan on Friday!

Bea - It's a pleasure, I'm glad it helped a bit. I'm not sure why this hip pain is happening, I also have no discomfort during the day. It seems a bit early for it! But it's all worth it for our little ones. I can imagine having to buy for 2, that must be quite expensive! Are you getting the same clothes/blankets for them both or different? Enjoy the scan tomorrow!

Pokkeltjie, I'm a bit jealous that you are showing... Haha. I think I just look a bit chubby on the belly region.

My next scan date is only 21 September, so in 5 weeks and 1 day  I don't know how I'll wait that long!!
I'm not sure why, but OB is only seeing me in 6 weeks again, so that will be 6 days after my 20 week scan.
I thought you were supposed to be seen every 4 weeks.
Anyways!
Have a lovely evening ladies!

PS- My laptop is on my tummy as I type this, and I had a feeling now, like light tapping from the inside a few times. Now I'm very skeptical if it could be baby or not because I saw that the placenta is literally in front of him between him and my uterus. Could it be?! :woohoo:
Maybe it's just gas

5 June '16 - BFP!

Hi Ladies

Sorry no personals   but I have been reading the posts...my gran's condition is getting worse. She is not holding any food down so right now we take it day by day. I am on antibiotics as well as DH. LB is on the mend thankfully. We hope the final results will be out on Thursday. This will also be the day that the Drs decide on the way forward. I am feeling very hopeless at this stage as I am not sure if I should just go to CPT or perhaps wait til we know the way forward....it's hard being in PTA right now But I think it's also best cos as a family we may cause more harm than good....if that makes any sense...we are very hard headed and stubborn and yes we all want what's best for her but I think we all still have our own idea/agenda as to what is good for her...

Keep well ladies

Morning Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well.

@ SimmyBunz - ooohh....how did it go with your scan?

@ Bea - good luck with your scan tomorrow...sure you can't wait to see how the boys are doing :)
Mmm...I should get some of those comfy tights! Lucky you @ people saying your tummy is small....everyone seems to feel the need to tell me my tummy is huge,my ass is getting big and my clothes are starting to get tight     I have a small build (size 6/8) and at 12 weeks I already look like I'm about 4.5/5 months

@ AnaB - I am so sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time during your pregnancy. Can just imagine the amount of stress and constant worry you have to go through. All I can say is try and take it easy and try not to worry too much. (I know it is easier said than done), but you have to try as it will only benefit you and the baby. Sorry to hear that you are battling so much with the nausea - it must be horrible :( You can cry and complain to us any time - we are here if you need that shoulder to cry or vent on! ;) Hope your hubby finds a job real soon & congrats on reaching that half way mark!
Thinking of you x

Have a lovely day ladies xx

AnaB, I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling down - you can complain as much as you like and please do! What you are describing doesn't sound like fun at all and I don't think anyone will blame you for feeling the way you do. But well done on reaching the half way mark - wow that's great! Good luck and I hope your husband finds a new job soon. Thinking of you xxx

SimmyBunz, good luck for your scan today. Thanks for the advice re the sore hips - weird how every pregnancy differs, I've never had this problem with my first, but now my hips are so sore during the night I almost want to cry. The half moon pillow is not doing it for me, so last night I tried the normal below between my ankles and knees - I must say it did help although I woke up once with bad pain - but it was definitely better than the nights before. During the day I have no discomfort whatsoever - so weird. I also checked out the Spree baby boys clothing last night - oh my word, they are cute! But I'm really trying my best to only buy things that are on sale - seeing that we have to buy double of everything. Luckily most of the online "designer" shops have frequent sales.

BellasMom, I'm with you, the last trimester is no so bad!

Tanya, it's so cool that you are waiting for the gender until birth, I don't think I will ever be able to wait so patiently :-). Yes, I'm going for scans every two weeks, but alternating between the normal gynae and the sonographer - this is so that they can constantly monitor for twin to twin transfusion syndrome. But I'll check with the sonographer at 20 weeks, because the last time he said if all looks good I can maybe see the normal gynae more frequently instead of him.

Marykevs, that's good news, holding thumbs for the new month.

Pokkeltjie, haha, I wish I started wearing maternity clothes earlier - they are sooo comfy. The tights I'm wearing today are those really soft, almost saggy ones - and think they will be perfect for summer as well as they're not warm at all. I think I need to get a few more. My concern is that the maternity clothes might not fit me towards the end as I'm going to be huge with the twins... oh well, we'll just have to wait and see. Everyone says my tummy is so small... lol

Nnita, hope the MS is better today.

Lethuwam, how are you feeling today?

AnaB, I am sorry you are having such a rough time! Try not to feel guilty about it, it's normal to feel that way, especially if you're having a hard time! The only thing I can give my 10 cents on is the RH negative factor. Please try not to worry about it. It was the same for me, and it really is not a big deal. You get two shots later during the course of your pregnancy that protects you and baby, and then when baby is born and she is for example O+ and you are O-, then both of you will get a shot again. The shots are a bit of a schlep but it really isnt worth adding it to your stress levels! Good luck - my last trimester was the best of all three, hopefully it is the case for you as well!

Guys, i read all your posts and reply in spirit. Been staying off here deliberately so as not to risk bringing everyone down with my miserable mood.

Maybe i should just complain..get it all off my chest and be done with it. I feel a bit disalusioned i guess. I'm not allowed to complain about anything. We couldn't conceive. This baby is a miracle and please don't get me wrong. I cannot wait for January. I cannot wait to have my baby in my arms. But pregnancy sucks. I hate it. There i said it!

I have thyroid disease and it really sucks more now with no energy and constantly worrying if baby is doing okay. I'm also not immune to Rubella for some reason. Once Dr explained what could happen to baby if i were to get it, i freaked out so bad i didnt leave my home for the first 12 weeks. I kid you not. I was just too scared. Insisted that my husband get tested. Thank god he is immune. I can't enjoy going out even now. The risk is always on my mind.
Not that i had much strength to go out. My morning sickness turned out to be hyperemesis gravidarum. I vomited 15 to 20 times a day. I was heading for hospitalisation so i had no choice but to start taking Zofran. I cried so hard. Why must i put my baby at risk with medication thats meant for cancer patients. And Zofran only stops me from getting sick. It doesn't take the nausea away. Im nauseous 24/7. I've lost 7kg so far.
My throat and mouth would swell up so bad from vomit that i had difficulty breathing and swallowing. My stomach would pain so bad and i would regularly go into shock. Zofran is not to be taken in my view but its the lesser of two evils. Baby needs fluids and nutrition.

Then i was also put on more medication to control the bile my liver is producing now during pregnancy. I don't have a gallbladder so that complicates things just a bit. Not sure if its the medication but i have severe headaches daily. Panado is doing nothing. Headache and nausea is such a bad combination.

Then Dr told me that I'm Rh negative which i never knew and now that has to be monitored so i dont reject my own baby. I understand its really not that big a deal nowadays and easily fixed but it just added more unwanted stress.

I have stabbing pains across my abdomen daily. I've had abdominal surgeries in the past so lots of scar tissue stretching from my pubic area up to my breasts. It keeps me up at night. Im sleeping 2 to 3 hrs only at night. Nausea, stabbing pains, stress and severe headaches. Oh the joy. And then ppl tell me the worst is to come in last trimester. Really? I just can't imagine it.

My husband also lost his job. We are without income from September. So much stress. But it's okay. As long as i have a healthy baby that is all we care about. I have no idea whats ahead but i know my greatest wish ever has come true.

I reach the 20 week mark this week. Im halfway there. When i feel at my most miserable i put my hands on my bump and just feel so much gratitude. I know how blessed i am. Just gotta get through the next 20 weeks lol!!

Hope you all have a great week!
And thats me complaining for the last time i promise :)
