I spent last night reading through this group's messages. It's so special how encouraging you all are.

We found out last week that we are expecting our 1st little one. Excited and nervous!

Will be joining a March/April group as soon as we have some other preggie fairies to join.

Thanks Bea. We also got sick in Cape Town DH went to the GP, he has bronchitis. Also got LB an antibiotic. The two of them will stay home the rest of the week.
I am getting flu symptoms. Trying to boost with honey, lemon an cinnamon but I doubt that it's working
Will see how I feel tomorrow. Will try get to bed early....

Are you taking normal Panado pills cos I have a killer headache and it worsens when I cough?

I spoke to the Drs and it seems they may still do a biopsy either tonight or tomorrow on my Gran... Thanks for your thinking of her. I think we will need all the prayer/thoughts we can get....

Spirited mama, I'm so sorry to hear that you and your family must go through this. I can just imagine how stressful it must be. You grandmother is in my thoughts.

AFM: Hubby's 40th birthday was great thanks. Yes, we're in Cape Town and the weather was just perfect for a change. Unfortunately we are all rather sick. Took my daughter to the pediatrician on Monday with a fever of 39C. Because I'm pregnant he sent her for tests and it came back as Influenza A. I also got sick very quickly and went to the GP this morning and she phoned my gynae. I'm now on Tamiflu. It makes me extremely nauseous, but she gave me a syrup which helps for the nausea - the other option would be to go for an injection to stop the nausea. Besides the Tamiflu I'm taking Panado only and Sterimar for my nose. Uuurgh, it really sucks being sick

Sorry if I left anyone out but my mind is in a thousand places....
AFM, we are good. just waiting for the results from the blood work....DH and LB is ecstatic because they were rooting for team blue. I'm just happy that we having a baby

So we flew to Cape Town on Friday. Now a brief history...
2014 - My mom's younger sister, aged 44 at the time, was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. She had a mastectomy and is up until today in remission.
2016 - My mom's youngest sister, aged 44, was diagnosed with breast cancer in Mar/April. . Double mastectomy in May and is now cancer free and in remission.
In 2015 we had a huge family celebration for the one sister that was in remission. Last week the family decided to have the celebration for the younger sister but we missed it as we planned to go down 5-8 Aug....
My gran has been complaining about flu and suddenly gall stones. It got so bad she went to a dr. Well lets just say that we visited her on Saturday evening, had a lovely time laughing and chatting. Then Sunday we get the call that she has been admitted with a pain over her bladder. So we all rush to the hospital and find that her liver is enlarged and pushing against her lungs...After some tests...its seems they suspect breast cancer, found a huge mass in her left breast and it may have spread to her lungs. So I spent as much time as possible with her and we left for Pretoria on Monday evening. Now we wait for the last of the results as they will hopefully be doing a biopsy soon.... At this stage we are all still in shock.

And now it seems we no longer need to do a genetic test for cancer as they suspect that we have the cancer gene in our family. I have discussed this with my Dr in April , after i had a Mammogram and scan, and she advised that we can boost our immunity but the chances that we have the cancer gene is great! So now the women in our family have to be monitored very very closely....

Sorry for the long post...but I am feeling very emotional as I regard my gran as my mother....
