Jan / Feb 2017 Babies

Morning guys,

SimmyBunZ congrats with the engagement and the baby boy! So much excitement going around, it will only make the time fly by quicker for you

AFM, I am extremely impatient about having my first scan, jeez. Still more than two weeks away! Things feel so different from my first pregnancy in a way, so Im very nervous. When I got out of the bath last night it felt like I was pulling a muscle in my tummy! And in the evenings after a busy day (my baby is 14 months old), my tummy feels really tight and a bit uncomfortable, really almost like braxon hicks (I know it's not that, just how it feels sort of)....

I dont remember feeling any of this with my first pregnancy, but Im guessing it's because I'm more aware of the changes happening. I feel nauseous often, but luckily not throwing up - it comes and goes quickly, but all I can bare to look at for food at the moment is a KitKat (!!!!) and crackers....not very healthy!

I also feel a bit moody, so my poor husband is getting the brunt of it Also, unlike with my first pregnancy when I couldnt wait telling people, I now feel very chilled and calm about it, Im thinking that Ill only tell most people at around 12 weeks. I think it's because it's still sinking in, and because my baby (and my dogs!) are keeping me so busy. I do feel a bit emotional about it because I suddenly started to get a bit worried about finances etc. We really need a bigger car now and we will also need extra money for another baby in daycare, clothes, nappies etc etc etc. Im also feeling so bad for my eldest baby, now my attention will have to be shared! I dont know why I am feeling this way as I really want another baby and I loved being pregnant with the first. I feel guilty for having these conflicting emotions!

Counting the days to reach our 13 week mark....just another 9 days to go!!! Whoop Whoop
2.5 weeks to go for our next scan....feels so far away

DebbieF - I am in Durban. Sorry about the constipation. I am already preparing for a few tests, one assignment and 1 exam next week. It can be very difficult especially now. But good luck with your studying and all the best for your exam on friday.

AFM: Today we are 13 weeks Really so happy about it! My MS is behaving for a bit. I am praying it stays this way. My brothers wife is also pregnant she is 17 weeks today. And It is so exciting that her baby will be born in January and my baby will be born in February. And we bought go to the same gynae lol. She will be finding out the gender at the end of this month. As i said before our doctor doesn't tell the gender but the sonographer who does the detailed scans for baby did tell us at our 12 week scan that she will be doing our 20 week scan so she will tell us the gender. My brother is hoping they have a boy and my DH and I are hoping we have a girl. So I got 7 weeks more to go in order to know the gender!

Mrs Gov, sorry about your dog. We also treat our pets like our children, mind you the dogs actually still lie in our bed Will have to keep an eye on them when LO arrives.... Our one pitbull, she is 11years old this year, lies in LB's bed all the time. They have such an amazing bond....

DebbieF, good luck with your exam on Friday. I'm also studying and just finished exams in June. Next round is Nov
I can relate to the constipation. It's a killer...

AFM, tomorrow is scan day. Can't wait....And I hope to get an all clear again cos we want to go to Cape Town tomorrow evening I am actually hoping its cold in Cape Town cos I want to take LB to see the snow Well let's hope there is some snow....

Spirited mama - congrats on the 13 weeks , sorry the MS is still with you lets hope its over soon, I am still deciding if I am going to let LO stay at home with our domestic for a bit before I send "it" to nursery she is very good with our animals
and I am sure if I send her on the necc training she will be good with our LO too. Not sure which route to follow.

SimmyBunZ - Congrats on the engagement , I can also feel a little bump above my public hair , it seems to come and go.
Congrats on the little Boy excellent DS odds, now you can relax a little and enjoy the rest of your pg.

NnitaN - congrats on your anniversary , I am glad you got a spoil , hope the MS clears soon

Bea - I am so glad everything is going well with the twins and your scan , our gym used to have yoga for preggies but I dont see it on the schedule anymore think I must go in and ask . I also see that there is a program called preggie bellies just not sure if I will make it to class in time and of course it is at an extra cost.

MrsGov - Sorry to hear about your doggie that is such sad news but glad to hear that Lo is doing well , naughty LO that didn't want to reveal team blue or pink. Did you go to the Fetal Assesment Centre at Pretoria East Hospital?

BellasMom - your description of a little alien is so true , I battle to tell one end from the other unless the Dr points it out
to me.

AFM - Sorry I have been so quite been reading your posts just havent had time to answer, writing an exam on Friday so trying to prep for that. Hormones are at the best even found myself crying at a Facebook post, also batlling with constipation so trying to drink as much water as possible and eat fruit and veg hopefully this too shall pass.

Thank you ladies, its good to hear everyone is doing well. Our journey is long with lots of challenges but we are blessed to get an opportunity to bring a child to this world. In the mist of every thing lets try to enjoy the pregnancy at the same time.
