Hi Sonsbaby.
Compliments of the season to you and all the ladies.
How quickly time goes!! we wait for them to get to the next milestone, and then the first year has just zoomed along!!
I have given my daughter watermelon (oh how she loooves it!!) and egg (not too found of it), at about 6.5 months or so.
My daughter eats pretty much what we eat. I just mush it up for her. I just haven't tried seafood (even fish) yet. And she loves food. Starts screaming if we eating and she doesn't get any!
She eats when the family eats. So if we sit together and have tea, then so does she. She still has her breastmilk. About 5/6 times from 6:30 to about 21:00, and another 2 or 3 during the night.
I think go with what you feel comfortable with. Until about 1 year mark, they still get most of the nutrients from milk.
Don't be too hesitant to give him different foods, and flavors though. My daughter cannot eat anything bland- no rice cereal, etc.
About the clingyness, it's not too bad. She just likes being carried, as she isn't moving yet, but once she does start crawling I'm sure it will change. She is wary of strangers though, especially men with beards and deep voices.
The clingyness is a phase, and mainly due to the crawling and not being attached to someone all the time!
Birthday themes- my suggestion, keep it simple. At 1 there is no attachment to characters, etc. believe me when they get older, you would much prefer simpler while all they want is a character!
