Hallo ladies!!

Tomorrow is Friday thank goodness!! This week has been hectic! My whole pumping schedule was thrown off course with meetings galore and then Tuesday I was in a training class the whole day!! I had to pump at lunch time in a dingy bathroom  :S I had a minor panic lol as that day I forgot to put breastpads in and I started leaking! the quickest I headed for the bathroom to make a temp "pad" from toiletpaper hahaha!!

@Jay-Bee - you know I was thinking the same thing last weekend!! I have no idea what I am going to do!! But for sure it only be close friends and family! What I want to do is that awesome cake smash photo session!! The pics I have seen of other babies is just too cute so that is a definite for me!! :woohoo: My cousin's little one just had his 1st bday party and she send out a present wish list along with the invite...was wondering if I must do that as well! As for a theme...yeah...so many choices cannot make up my mind!!

@Maj - Connor's poo situation is getting better thank goodness. Still has one or two harder poops but overall its getting softer :woohoo: (this is when you know you are a mum...you get excited over poop hahahaha!!) I still breastfeed Connor to sleep lol its so much easier!! One or two nights that does not work then I am also on the rocking wagon trying to get him to sleep! Lucky when he falls asleep he stays that way till about 4:30am so lucky with him!

Connor has started sailing backwards now lol so funny! He gets so frustrated when he tries to move towards something and he just gets further away

Connor got a measles injection and Vit A drops at 6 months. Does anyone know when is the next one after that?

@Cuma, good luck with the last few weeks its all so exciting!! As for buying clothes I agree you will need a few newborn babygrows mine drowned in the 0-3 month clothes lol!! Just be careful of pep brand as their newborn stuff is very small! My hubby had to run to the shops to buy newborn clothes as I had just one newborn babygrow in the hospital lol!

I love using pampers wet wipes as they are allot on special actually game sells them the cheapest for their 4 pack! For the nappies I used the huggies 0 size about two packs of that then the size 1 I also used about two or three packs. From size 2 I started using pampers active nappies they worked the best for me. I used about 3 to 4 packs of that size. At the moment using number 3 nappy.

I just use soducrem its really amazing and dischem has it on special allot. I sometimes use bepanthem when I see he gets a tiny bit of read starting (but very rarely this happens)

Unfortunately I cannot really give formula advice as I breastfeed exclusively. I did buy a small Novulac premium tin just incase a day comes that my supply dips but so far not needed it.

I use tommy tippie bottles to give my baby breasmilk in when I am at work so far he is very happy with that brand. Bonus is that its not too expensive. he also uses a Nuk dummy.

As for medical stuff, a good thermometer is a must I believe. Clicks has good ones that does not cost an arm and a leg. Then telament drops and gripe water, baby buscopan for cramps, calpol pain med.

I would say don't buy too much stuff now wait for your babyshower if you going to have one. There you usually get allot of body products, receiver blankets, wet wipes and clothes.

Oh my ladies saying all this makes me nostalgic for that time just before baby arrived!! oooo how I miss being pregnant and that excitement of getting all the things together for baby!!

@ ladies, have you thought about what you are going to do for your baby's 1st birthday? I don't want a huge thing just close friends and family but have no idea

@ Cuma, almost time for baby to make its appearance, good luck and it's a wonderful experience.

1) I bought 2-3x packs of Huggies my first nappy size 0 and then 2x packs of size 1 if I can remember correctly. I had received loads of wet wipes at my baby shower but I buy the Clicks brand and really like them - I would say buy about 3-4x packs of wipes as you don't need to stock up too much. Although keep an eye open for any nappy specials and then buy a few bags. I use Bennetts Bum Cream now and again but use Sudocrem mostly and she has never had a nappy rash or even slightly red bum.

2) It all depends on your formula preference, do some research and see what will be best for you and your baby.

3) Seeing that my baby was going to be 3.6/7 kg as per the Gynae but was born at 2.8kg and left the hospital at 2.4/6kg, I bought 0-3 months clothing but something told me just to buy one or two newborn outfits and so thankful that I did as there was no way that she would fit into the 0-3 months - actually she only fitted into Tiny baby :) .
So maybe buy some 0-3 months, one or two newborn outfits and a few short sleeved body vests or Summer babygrows.

4) I use Avent the Natural bottles - and a Nuk dummy up until she was 5 months.

5) I also bought some Infant Panado, Telament Colic Drops, Gripe Water, Purity Pedia Kids antiseptic spray and a normal thermometer as a sort of medical kit.

If you need any other info, please ask :)

Hi Ladies.

I still can't feel any teeth! Although she has been sorta having diarrhea since Friday! She normally poos every 2nd day!
We have a teething necklace. It worked really well with my elder one. I took it off for a few days with her and noticed a difference. With the necklace we had a pretty ok teething process.
I'm
Hoping for a similar experience this time around.

We don't really have much drool, etc. I love the oh-life aqueous (very pricey) but works great!

@sonsbaby the sister might have said about the iron as you aunt giving him cereals- these are usually iron fortified. I have low iron, and iron supplements definitely constipate! Hope connor's poo issues improve.
Regarding preparing the food, just keep steaming and blending and mashing.
I added some cinnamon sticks to the apple just to add some spice (I love cinnamon)

I spent the better part of wed and thurs afternoon trying to get my daughter to sleep (she was rubbing her eyes) but she keeps fighting, and as soon as I change her position or put her down, she wakes. So I decided I can't waste soo much time making her sleep. So know she wakes at about 6:30, and has 4 naps: about 30-45 mins long, and 1 of them is over an hour. and then bedtime between 20:00 and 20:30. the problem is that my big daughter wants me to also put her to bed at the same time, and it's the only time she has an issue with the baby! Hubby tries, but the big 1 can be really headstrong.

@svd, we also do co-sleeping. Unfortunately we don't have a big bed so the cot is in line with the bed.
My elder daughter slept that way till about 2.5yrs, jumping in between us in the middle of the night.

I got so excited about the flipping, but now she only does it from her tummy to back, and not the other way! She is too big for crawling just yet, her muscles need to get much stronger!

I haven't been to the Pead since 6 weeks! That reminds me, is there a 6 months vaccination?

@jaybee, my daughter is also saying dada, but the elder 1 calls dad Pappa so he can't claim that she is calling him. But actual words don't start for a while I think. It's just sounds!

@jaybee, we shave the hair when the baby is a week old, but my daughter has a lot of hair! I'm considering cutting it because she gets sooo hot in the car seat, her head is wet!
