@Carien - Ja it seems crazy to eat so much!!! We have been juicing our fruit and veg and it is much easier to consume those large amounts. It leaves you feeling so great too so that is my only recommendation. We just juice once a day and then eat our usual amounts of veg for the other meals. I'm also terrified of gaining too much. My boobs are also killing me!! Yay can't wait for your scan too :)

Morning ladies, hope everyone is well :)

@Reese - know the feeling, its not that bad for me yet, but definitely there. Agree with Chanti, can even try the prune purity jars, not sure if they taste very nice, but I'm sure they will help. Have also read that increasing your water intake can help, good luck :)

I am using this Ovia pregnancy app on my phone which seems nice and I found a nutritional guide now, they say there to eat 5 cups of fruits and/or veggies in a day, holy hell! I mean I am all for eating healthy but seriously 5 cups? And that is not even counting the dairy, protein and grains you need, I swear with what they have listed there you would be eating non-stop from sunrise to well after sunset. I really want to do better with this pregnancy, I felt so horribly uncomfortable with my last pregnancy and it had a lot to with not being active and not eating right and generally just not being in a good headspace. I will not do that again with this pregnancy. I am keeping up my boxing routine and will make a point of eating better. Do you ladies have any pregnancy diets that you like that you can share?

@Chanti - so excited for you for your scan, must let us know how it went

AFM - I am overall not feeling bad, just tired. I am getting between 6 and 8 hours of sleep a night, sometimes uninterruped sometimes not just based on if my youngest wakes up or not. My boobs are sore, but seems more so when I take off my bra at night. My scan is next week wednesday, I will be 7w1d, so should be able to hear the heartbeat of the baby.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well otherwise :)

Morning ladies,

@Reese - Perhaps try add some prune juice to your diet and also if you have a juicer at home, juice some fruit and veg and that will help with the constipation and give you a huge boost. Ah how sweet that your kiddies are excited hey! I can't believe people are asking you guys already if you are preggers!! I havent had anyone ask! I fortunately already mainly drink rooibos so that has kept me out of trouble at work but with the nausea getting worse and worse I'm not sure how long I will hide it for. I'm sure its quite natural to have a few things to worry about especially under the circumstances, but remember stress isn't good for mommy hey!

@Carien - I have no advice on how to handle the younger siblings but I'm sure your youngest will be okay. Try your best to get him to help with things for the baby and help him to feel important.

AFM, My scan is on Thursday, YAY!!! The morning sickness has officially hit, thank goodness I haven't had to go running for the loo though, I manage to keep everything down. I am really feeling flat today, just had some salty crackers and a piece of cheese and that has helped hugely. I had some bad pains on the weekend that lasted a little while but all is fine now thankfully. So excited to see our little sprout!

Morning Ladies, hope you all had a restful weekend.

@Carien - Yes there is so much to think about hey? But I am sure you will know what the right time is for you little one to go to school and everything will work out.
LOL - I also tell people that I am fat if they ask me whether I'm pregnant. Luckily only had to do it once. One of the ladies at work has a suspicion, but I just laughed it off. I'm so tired of trying to lie about it, but I also have no desire to tell the people at my work. I thought I might tell my boss on Friday when I go on leave, but I also don't know if I should wait until I get back in January because then I will be 12 weeks.

So I have been really sick over the weekend. I am struggling with constipation. I was in so much pain that I actually vomited and passed out. It was so horrible. I don't know what I can use to help me with this. I took 2 Soflax tablets and it just made it worse! I just cannot go.
And the nausea has become worse! I am really struggling at work. I read somewhere that it can be because the placenta is taking over and that can cause the nausea to increase so I am just praying that I get through this. :)

My girls are getting so excited for the babies arrival. My 3 year old keeps asking if the babies are still in my tummy and if she can take them out! When we told them at first, she asked if I swallowed them! LOL! So cute.

I know I am blessed and I am so lucky to be carrying twins, but I have to say that I am not yet excited. I am still a little worried about a lot of things. maybe if I find out the gender I would get excited.

So that's me for now. Just taking one day at a time...

Hello everyone, hope all is well. I did not get any notice of posts to the group this week so thought I would check in.

@Reese - regarding the salad, cant see why you cant eat it, my doc always told me that things I know are fine, its the strange new things (especially) that you need to stay away from. As for the nanny vs school - my kids were both home with a nanny. Love my nanny. She is the 3rd lady we got, first two did not work out. If I can give you some advice, look for someone who has been with a family for a long time and maybe the parents are not employing her anymore b/c the kids are going to school or something, or immigrating, there are generally a few of those types of people around. My oldest only started school this year (his birthday is only in Dec so technically just after he turned 3) here. He did attend a "school" when we lived in Singapore, but it was only for 3 hours in the morning. I would not however call that a playschool b/c they really didn't do much playing at all. They started teaching them alphabet and numbers and things like that straight away. My youngest will be 2 in Feb and we are thinking of putting him in school either 2nd or 3rd term next year. With this baby coming end of July, I don't want him to think that we are "moving him out" to make room for the new baby, so maybe 2nd term would be better, but we are still deciding. If we do put him in 2nd term, it would be a logistical nightmare b/c he would need to be collected at 12 and my older son at 3 b/c he goes to after care. They don't allow the littlelies to go to after-care bc they don't have enough ppl there to change nappies and things, so they have to be potty trained when they go to after-care. If he is trained then that would be fine, but I am also not going to push him to train before he is ready. Anyway, so much to decide in this time...

I am feeling a bit less tired today, still kinda feeling blah but not as tired at least. I am really hoping I can keep it quiet for a while more at least at the office, was hoping to get to the 12 week scan before having to tell anybody, but who knows. Yesterday I saw someone at the park my kids go play at and she asked me how far along I am...didnt want to lie but said not far and that I am just fat, ppl seem to back off when I say that :)

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend :)

Morning ladies,

@Reese - We juice some fruit and veg every morning, perhaps try a small glass of that if you are worried about getting enough nutrients in. I'm sure you are going to be fine though, its natural for our bodies to want to shut down like that. My friend barely ate anything in her first trimester with twins as she was so ill. Just be kind to yourself and eat what you can when you can, it will get better. I'm glad you and hubby have managed to come to a decision RE a nanny. It will really help you, even throughout pregnancy when you get too tired to keep the house in check and clothes cleaned.

@Carien - Oh nice that you get to go out and watch a movie!Enjoy it  I'm sorry about your neighbors, its crazy how some people just completely disregard the law hey! And here the rest of us do everything to the book....

AFM, I live in KZN in the Southern Berg. I had over 9 hours of sleep last night and feel so much better today!

Vraag: Weet julle of dit veilig is om Woolworths se pasta slaai te eet? Ek is so lus daarvoor en dag dit sal dalk beter wees as om net vrugte en yogurt te eet?
