Morning Ladies,
Whew! am I tired! I think this is the worst symptom for me at the moment. I am really struggling especially at work. The nausea comes and goes and it gets worst if I don't eat or snack every two hours. I am also drinking a lot of fluids. I am however a little "bothered", because I don't need to go to the bathroom that much. That was one of my worst symptoms in my previous pregnancies, I thought carrying two will make it worse!

Also I have extreme sensitive smelling! Oh my goodness! I can sniff out toast, meat, a dirty nappy from a mile away and people stare at me like I'm from another planet when I tell them I smell something funny. And it just make the nausea worse! Hubby jokes and says I will give the police dogs a run for their money if they had to know! :-) LOL

So another thing that is really bothering me is the fact that I cannot eat a proper healthy meal! I can eat small amounts of fruit or crackers and yogurt during the day, but I cannot eat meat, any kind of meat whether its chicken, fish, red meat, pork. I cannot stand it. and also I have no appetite for veggies (which I use to looooveee before I got pregnant! I'm just a little worried that I'm not getting the right amount of healthy food for the babies. Cannot eat sweets, cannot stand coffee or tea. I only want milk and coke! I hate both but I give the body what its wants.

I am already showing - my tummy already has a nice boop so I am wearing loose fitting clothing to try and keep it quiet for another week or so at work. I have always had a flat tummy so its so obvious that I'm pregnant!

Hubby and I had a discussion about the nanny and all. And I think you're right @Chanti. It will be much better to get a nanny to look after them at home. So we will shortly start looking for a nanny that can stay in (we have a nice flat where she can stay). So at least that is something positive.
Thank you for your advice and your kind words. It really helps a lot.

@Bridgey - thank you so much. I think the excitement will probably kick in as soon as I go for the next scan next week and see that both are still healthy. And also as soon as we find out what we are having.

@CarienM - Welcome to the TIRED PREGNANT MOMMY CLUB! Seems this is the first actual symptom for all of us! So cool.
I loved Bad Moms! It's just a cool movie and so realistic! I watch that when I feel like a bad mom and it lifts my spirit! I would love to see the second one also! Will need to make a plan.

Sorry to hear about the issues with the neighbour. People can really be so selfish! Hope it gets sorted soon.
We also bought an old house 4 years ago and we are still fixing it up - small steps at a time. Probably because I keep changing my mind! :-)
But we'll get there.

I live in Kempton Park. So not too far from you Carien.
I hope you ladies have an awesome Wednesday.

Morning ladies, hope everyone is well, I am 5w1d today and the tiredness has officially set in!! Might be (I'm hoping) that I just had a busy day yesterday and didnt get to bed till after midnight, but I am a bit more of a realist and knew it was coming!! I am struggling to keep my eyes open today, and it really doesn't help that I forgot my coffee at home today. Anyway, I am really going to try to not be negative! This is just everything we get for being mommies (again) soon!

Looking forward to this evening, going to see Bad Moms Christmas with some girlfriends, loved the first one, if you ladies have not seen it, do yourself a fav and watch it, soooo funny!!

@BridgyMich - how are you hun? just the 3 of us here so far (that I know of)

How is everyone else today? @Reese - I'm happy to hear your husband has made an effort and that it all turned out well telling the family. Hoping he keeps going on that track so that you feel supported during this pregnancy. @Chanti - for some reason I thought you live in JNB but based on you saying that your DH was here, I'm guessing you dont :) where are you ladies located? I live in Greenside in Randburg. We have a pretty old house (built in 1952) that we are fixing up as we have funds to do so. We have done a lot to it but as with all old houses, there is always a lot more to do. The guy living next to us is building a 3 story (3STORY!!!) "addition" right next to our boundry wall which is really not fun. We are trying to fight it, and the fact that they are giving the law the middle finger as much as they can is counting in our favour! They got an order to stop building (2nd one) on 21/11 and still kept on building, on Friday we actually had to go get the police to get them to stop pumping cement from the 4 cement trucks plus a pump truck at 9:30 at night. Was such a traffic hazzard as well since it was raining so much and these trucks had no lights and there is a blind rise, we live next to it but apparently 17 individuals complained about it. We are hoping something comes of this, right now they are having to pay 4 times their rates bill (till the city feels it appropriate to take it down to only the normal rate) and are also being taken to court b/c they ignored the stop orders.

Anyway, this is what we get to deal with wen we leave the office, but we are trying to stay on the right side of the law regarding that and also trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Hope everyone has a great day :)

Hey ladies,

@Carien - My app is next Thurs, 7 week scan :) I'm still on the progesterone, I will most likely stay on it for most of the first trimester as a precaution. My boobs are quite full and heavy, I also have darkened veins already. I have started rubbing my tummy and boobs with bio oil daily in the hopes that it will help with any stretch marks. Congrats on the 5 week target :) We havent told very many people, only immediate family, one set of close friends that we are helping move their house and my boss. Enjoying keeping the little secret for now!

@Reese - I'm really glad that your hubby is embracing this a bit more and that people are being excited for you guys. It really is such an amazing blessing :cheer: I think you and hubby need to just give each other a little time to settle into this new news and how your lives will be affected. there is no need to be making huge decisions now. For me I would much rather have my child at home with a decent, trusted care taker than at a school. You can install nanny cams and keep an eye on her from your phone. I just get frustrated with the rules and regulations at schools and also exposing a little one to so many germs, you should consider that there is a slight possibility your babies could be prem and might need a little longer at home. I would def get a lady in so long so that you can see how she works and what she is like before the babies are actually here. That's what I have done and I have been able to find the most amazing lady that I absolutely love!

I think its safe to say we all have so much going through our minds right now with various decisions needing to be made, it can seem overwhelming at times!!

AFM, not much new, just that I am so tired  I am struggling to keep my eyes open right now... Hubby has been in JHB the last few days and he gets home today, it will be so good to have him back and also have a full nights peaceful sleep.

Hi CarienM,

Hubby has decided to tell the family on Saturday and I think he expected people to make fun of him and be all negative about the pregnancy, but family and friends have been so excited and supportive so I think that made it better for him. My eldest is ecstatic! She is so excited and just wants a baby brother. I really pray that the Lord will bless us with at least one boy. I keep saying that, but I really just hope it works out.

I am feeling a little down... hubby also says I'm withdrawn. I just think I'm feeling overwhelmed still. And I have so many things going on at the moment. I struggle to sleep. Hubby is just making finance plans so he doesn't have to sell his cars!! (That's his babies! He wont be able to survive without his cars!)
He is pushing me into making decisions and I just don't want to discuss it all at once!!! I'm not ready for it!
I'm unhappy at work and I was going to start looking for a new job in January. Now that plan is down the drain. So I thought maybe I can stick it out a bit until my maternity...try and find a new job and then resign when I found something. Now hubby is accusing me of not wanting him to keep his cars and me wanting to not work so he has to take all the financial strain! Arghhhh its so draining these arguments!

He is also suggesting a full time maid to take care of the kids and I just don't know if I would be able to trust a stranger to look after 2 babies??? Am I being silly? I would rather put them in a crèche. I don't know!!!

I'm so happy to hear that your cousin had an easier experience with her twins. Gives me a little hope.

Going through the emotions that you are and the asking the questions, is completely normal Carien! I keep asking myself the same thing. But we will get through it! We just have to.

Hey ladies, for some reason I am not getting email notifications of updates, checked in now and saw there were a couple.

@ Chanti - happy-dancing with you!! 5 weeks and counting! When do you need to see the doc again? Are you still on your progesterone?

@Reese - has your husband come around? My cousin who had a singleton and then identical twins said her twin pregnancy was much easier than the singleton one, so hoping you experience the same. I have other friends who are expecting twins also but via IVF, and for her besides the sore boobs, she says she is feeling well as well, so hopefully you will also have a bit of an easier one, maybe you paid your dues with your first two :)

AFM - I am feeling good. My husband says I'm withdrawn, but I dont think so. My boobs are sore, the right one has now started as well, but also not really SORE, more like I'm aware that they feel different, and I think they have already gotten bigger, and the bright blue vein is already starting to show on the left. With my boys I was up 2 cup sizes by 9 weeks, but at least it leveled out at that, so expecting about the same for this one. I will be 5 weeks tomorrow. My other cousin has also found out she is pregnant and is about 11 days ahead of me, its their first so very exciting for them.

I guess its kind of "normal" but I am freaking out a little, I wanted this 3rd baby so much, but now I am doubting myself and wondering what have we gotten ourselves into, can we really do this, can we afford this, how are we going to manage, we are not going to have a life, are we going to lose ourselves as a couple and and and...hoping its normal to feel this way at least. I know when you are there you just do it and dont give it a second thought, I guess I am just stressing about this now...At least its not like I need to have this figured out by tomorrow...

Have my first doc apt on the 20th, so little bit more to go. Have you guys told many ppl? I have told a few, mostly the ppl who knew we were trying. I have a friend who has been struggling for more than 4 years who I thought I needed to tell pretty much right after I told my husband just b/c I didnt want her to think we were hiding it from her and b/c we were pretty much tracking at the same time.

Anyway, trying to get some work done, hope you ladies had a nice weekend :)

Hi Chanti! OOh yay congrats on the 5 week mark! So exciting.
Today is 7 weeks for me! :)

I didn't have ANY symptoms until exactly 6 weeks so hang in there - it might still happen.
I have to say that the symptoms isn't nearly as bad as what I had it with my previous 2 pregnancies and they say that with twins it should be double. But it's not as bad.
I do feel the nausea but I have found that if I snack every now and again on fruit or something small, it prevents the nausea. I also cannot eat a plate full of food. The tiredness is also a bit hectic, all I want to do is sleep! But then at night I struggle to sleep.
The constipation is a real pain! Oh my word, it is painful!

Other than that, I feel okay. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Cant wait for the next scan in 2 weeks!

Hope you are all doing well!
