Hi girls, sorry for being MIA.

Been back at work, trying to cope in this CT Heat. a little bit swollen from the heat, but not to much.
Swimming after work and being a busy mommy, can't imagine how my already busy life is going to be with new baba. But as MommyN told me i must or should be happy my LO is the age he is and i am. He really understands whats going on. Turning 3 in May so he's getting a big boy now.

Shjoe can't believe i only have about 3weeks left - really getting excited.

Been so busy can't remember if i posted an update of my gynae app that was the 4th. Well LG weighs 2.6kg and the first thing i saw was some really chubby cheeks - gonna take after daddy i think. Nothing else, just that my next app will be the 18th to measure the heartrate and book my hospital bed and so on.

Only have 9½ work days left, Yipee!! Then one week at home before LG.

Chris thinking of you!!!

Mina, shjoe girl hope baby comes real soon.

Got to go quick, chat again later.
LO wants ice cream now, so we gonna walk this few meters to the shop now....lol real slow. These feet are not made for walking anymore. I feel like a balloon.
Before it really gets hot again.

Take care girls*

Aaah, Chris our Friend, we are all thinking of you! I really hope that the anti-biotics kick in and you are on a road to recovery real fast! I cant imagine what you are going through! Shame man! Lots and lots of hugs! xxxxxxx

Vix, good on the Tweenies! THey may not be picking up weight so fast, and Jono might be colicy, but they and you are doing great! Your paed makes a lot of sense. My paed is also very pro the iron supplement, just silly me didnt ask him about a supplement for me, but I am going to get myself some your tabs, as soon as I can get to the pharmacy. Went to a friend today, first outing really, besides Drs etc, but Mom was with so I guess it doesnt count!

Guys you wont believe what Nathan did to me! He had a dirty nappy, and I thought I should leave him a little longer... well, as I was changing him, after my friend very thughtfully changed the cover on her newborn (6 days old)'s changing mat, and Nathan had a whopper nappy, and then he squirted me....!!! Not with wee wee, with the other.... and I had a white t-shirt on! It had mustard coloured splatter all over! He did it to one of the burses in NICu, and now me! I am going to put a spare t-shirt in the car! Girls are much easier in my opinion!

AFM, I am really eina again. Can hardly get up without holding my tummy and getting up in bed is really sore! I see the gynae on tuesday but everyone says it can be normal. They really had to battle to get Nathan out at the birth, so maybe its just all part of the healing! My LG has been so bus and I am forgetting about picking her up, moving the pram in and out of the car, doing washing etc etc! Ladies, take it easy after the c-sec even when you think you are ok, please!

Maryke, how did the night nurse go? I am soooo jealous too! Nathan was up from 10pm (5 mins afer I got into bed last night) until about 1 or 2 am this morning! Just wouldnt settle. I think he has day and night mixed up, or he was used to more light and noise int he hospital compared to at home! So after 3 hours sleep last night I am not in the best of moods today. No peace for me!

Mina, good luck! Try not to stress too much. Hope the little baba comes soon!

Everyone else, take care of yourselves and the precious cargo!

Have a great weekend!

update from Chris
She is being moved into isolation where healthy adults may visit.
She is not allowed to see her babies :(
Unfortunately they have advised me not to visit due to pregnancy :(
She is hoping 72 hours on the new antibiotics will help.
She was on previous antibiotics which the bacteria was resistant to so now that they know that, they will start the new treatment.

Hang in there Chris - you have had such a difficult journey xxx

Morning ladies,

sorry i was reading but i read on BB whilst feeding or expressing so can't really reply at the time.

Haircut was nice, really enjoyed the peace and quiet but as always it didn't last long, i got home just in time for Colic madness.

Paed said i should try the bennets colic drops, he said of all the OTC meds that's probably the best, he won't go into prescribed meds unless nothing else is working, not for their little systems. But interestingly he said Gripe water with Alcohol might work, he said forget anything that claims to be a Alcohol free colic remedy because 9/10 it's the alcohol that does the calming. He said in the old days they used to recommend dipping ones finger in brandy for baby to suck off and that would calm the digestive system down enough for the colic symptoms to stop.

I love this guy, he's so straight forward and honest. He even explained thoroughly why i need to give the boys an iron supplement, all about their red blood cells in Utero and the maternal blood cells blah blah blah, very interesting, i love that i get a good knowledge of why i need to give my baby meds or supplements.

He's very happy with the boys development and health but a bit concerned about their weight, they've each only picked up 400g in 4 weeks, i did explain to him that i am starting to give formula top ups anyway because they're feeds are going up and i refuse to express during the night when i should be sleeping and he was happy with that. He says that BM is great stuff, for the antibodies, but useless at making babies pick up weight fast. He said in cases like with the twins what i am doing is exactly what he would suggest, they need the BM to keep their immune systems strong but the formula will make them big and strong so that IF they do get sick they will have better chances of fighting it off.

Speaking to Elwyn today i think we have decided to take the expressing 1 month at a time and not to stress over how much milk I'm getting, if i can't make 50/50 then we'll give 30/70 as long as they are still getting some BM it';s better than none.

I must take them for their vaccinations next week, he gave me the address of a pharmacy that always has gov stock of the rotovirus and prevenar so the only cost to me will be R80 for the consultation fee. He's such a thoughtful guy, really he is.

anyways enough about me................

Mina I hope you're surviving today! Where do you stay? If ever you come to the east rand mall again will you please let me know because i don't live far and we can have coffee.

Meags- thanks for the update on Chris, i hope you can go see her and giver all our love!

Yvette- wow your girls look alike! I will do that with Jono and C once Jono gets to 3.3kg which was C's birth weight.

Carmen- thanks for the CTS info, sounds horrible!

hi ladies

ya I am struggling without DH. particularly today. I think weekends are the worst especially cos he can go out drinking/partying if he wants and I am sitting her depressed and alone! I really miss him a lot today though but I guess I will survive!

Mina please keep us updated! My cell number is 082 667 0108.
Cant believe you are still going!!!!! How long are they giving you until you need induction??? Your ticker says you are 13 days overdue which is quite a lot!

Chris is very emotional :( Shame what a rollercoaster for her. I am hoping to go visit her. She is trying to find out if it's safe for me to be there as she is being moved to isolation. Poor thing.

Yvette your girls are pulling the exact same pout!!! how cute!!!!

Chris, so sorry you've had such a rough time. Really hope that everything gets sorted asap and you can go home with your bubs. Having done it the other way around I know there is nothing worse than being seperated from them when they're so little.

Mina, hope you 're feeling better. If it makes you feel any better I feel the same way about the c-section as you do about natural birth. As much as none of mine where particularly bad or uncomfortable, it's the c-section shuffle that I remember most and trying ever so hard not to laugh for ages after.

Thanks to all for the welcome. :)
