Jan/Feb 2011 Mommies (Nov & Dec 2010 early babes)

Hope you are all well!

Cant remember all the posts, gotta say DIDO to MOMMYN's post Wow, you always seem to get most of your stuff in (well, at least it seems to be)

So my little boy is sick he is on antibiotics and if not better by tomorrow I have to take him to paed who might admit him ad its crappy cos we have to keep watching the other 2 and try separate them as much as possible. Poor baby, his nose runs, he is coughing you cn hear its a chesty cough, he has the runs. The paed said there is a virus going around attacking children and babies, antibiotics dont help, they cough all the time and sort of what alessandro has, so I must just monitor him over night and see tomorrow.

Other than that, they have been doing well, there last feed is betwwen 7 & 9 and then they sleep til about 4h30/5h00 although Athena still wakes for her feed at about 1, but she is smaller then the other 2 and also eats less. Athena is on th eLosec (cant remember if I posted about it), but from afternoon she complains about that feed, so I dunno if it is helping, it is and it isn't if that makes sense?

I went into office yesteday to get some work to do at home, last week I emailed my boss to say I was going to be in to sit with him and discuss what I must do, when I got there and he was asking how I am , how babies are etc then he asks what was I doing there, what do I need from him, idiot, it wasn't said in a noice way that he possibly meant why was I back at work? LOL, if only, I dropped babies of at MIL with the nanny and when I left I just said to her that I wish my boss would fire me. How I wish I could stay at home with them all the time!

Ok, gotta go give meds to my baby boy before his feed shortly.

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well?

We are finally back at home. Kulula decided to change our 18:30 yesterday to 23:30 and DH decided there is no way that we are arriving back in J'burg at 01:30 (if we are lucky). We were then told we can have a 10:00 flight (for 2) and a 12:00 (for 1). We eventually managed to get a 14:30 flight which only left CT at 15:10. So thanks to Kulula we had an extra night with ouma and oupa.

Inge was a little angel on the plane. Friday night she slept all the way from 19:00 (our flight was 21:00) and only woke up as we were getting the rental car (I must say she did had 1ml of Stilpain just for incase). This afternoon she had nothing and slept until we were about 15 min in the air. Was awake for about 30min and fell asleep again - waking up as we stopped in front of the airport. I will fly with her any day. I am proud to say she was a very well behaved little princess!!!!!!!

The time by Ouma did us all good. Inge got so much fresh CT air that she slept very well. My folks have a semi sun room and we spent most of the time during the day there with the doors opened. When going to sleep now I simply have to put her down on the bed (by my mom - will be in her cot at home) and within a couple of minutes she is fast asleep. The best part of it all is on Saturday night Ouma and Oupa babysat. Inge drank her bottle and played and drank more and eventually my mom saw that she was tired and put her in her bed (normal single bed with 10 000 pillow (ouma was so scared she would fall off LOL). Within 5 minutes Inge was asleep. I couldn't believe it so my mom showed me Sunday night. It took a bit longer because Inge could hear our voices. 10 minutes later she was asleep. Same story last night. Now tonight we are back at home and quess what SHE FELL ASLEEP IN HER OWN BED WITHOUT ME HAVING TO ROCK / SING / BOUNCE ETC Just like during day time - I am so glad.

We took her to Blouberg on Sunday and wet her feet in the sea - now we can take her to the Vaal. I teased DH and told him she is now christened and now we can wet her feet in the dirty Vaal river LOL

Vix - glad your kitchen is finished

Maryke - congrats on 4 months!!!!! Hope all is well with you being back at work

Chris - hope you and the A-team are doing well

MommyN - sorry to hear about Sarah - hope it is only a fase that she will out grow

Chan - glad K is sleeping better

It is now a week already that Inge gets 2 teaspoons of porridge in her (18:00) bottle and it is definately doing her good. Cannot wait to start her with porridge but she is not ready for that yet - I am also not going to push her.

Work is very busy all my stuff is really 4m behind urgh what a bummer, but enjoying it again!

The catering went well there were satisfied tummies all round thanks for asking MommyN. Was going to use the nestum as Vix suggested but hubby brought home the cerelac by mistake. You right MommyN its easy to just add water.

Just tried the cereal. Made a dessert sppon of powder mixed with water. He ate it all up - no spitting it out at all. Midway through he grabbed the sppon and put some into his mouth - maybe we were too slow for him:) sniff my little boy is growing up:) bathing time gotta run. Hope every one is good, mwah

Hi Mommies

ok, hopefully I have a chance to post here! Missy is napping (I hope) and Nathan is napping on my lap - I know its a bad habit but if he doesn't sleep he is just miserable later on! I am now trying out Rescue drops and tissues salts for him - it started working and he is at least napping most days during the day but for no more than 20 mins! It means I just get him down and then Sarah and then he wakes up! Both kids seem so ma-vas at the moment!

I dont thin he really needs the Bennett's Colic mix anymore, he goes to sleep well at 6 or 7pm, and wakes once or sometimes twice and then sleeps till 6am. Thank goodness. But the days are hectic! Unless we are out walking!

I am battling terribly with Sarah who is getting more jealous by the day. I thought we had skipped the jealousy phase as she was so happy when we brought him home and until she got sick 2 weeks ago, she just kissed him all day! Now she hits, grabs, pulls, tugs, and screams in his face. He sees her coming and he starts screaming! I have tried ignoring, disciplining and now I am just losing patience. Lets hope this passes soon!

A few notes, but I know I am going to forget some people!

Chris - have you ventured out yet (besides family)? How are things on the work front?

Maryke - how are the boys after the manipulating last week? How is FJ and how is your Dad doing? (Strongs to you on that front). Aren't the boys 4 months old today? Good luck with back to work! How are the boys coping without you all day?

I cant believe its 4 months ago that some of us were having baba's - Maryke, Vix and myself! Seems like just the other day!

Vix - hope Alex and Jono are now over the fever spells and that C is getting better. The kitchen is almost done yay yay yay! You will be so happy to have a kitchen and not reply on take aways and microwave food - but all worth it! Hows it going with your mom closer?

Ster - I think you are still away, hope you are having a fab time with Granny and Grandpa and am sure you are all getting spilt.

Chan - hope you are very happy in your new home! Congrats on Kade sleeping better.

MiksMom - shjoe, Wian is doing super on food! And he looks so big and happy!

Guess I shouldnt compare, but Nathan seems to be staying small forever! He still had a prem baby grow on on Sunday! Ok, the sleeves didnt need to be double rolled etc and its probably the last prem outfit he fits into, but still! And I keep thinking that Missy is also so behind compared to other kids, I guess they just suddenly catch up - I have never really compared because all our friends kids are a little (6 months at least) old than her, so just never checked anything. Now I am feeling paranoid that both my kids are way behind! Urgh, mommy stress again!

Lizelle, truth be told, I often do things to feel guilty about - little fingers in drawers/doors, Missy slipping off bed while away when she was 6 months old, sky diving from high chair, etc etc. It all happens! Nothing serious and nothing done intentionally! You are a great mommy and it shows because you feel so guilty when you do something small! No use crying over spilled colic mix (except that it costs a small fortune)!

Suhaila - I also used the Purity Rice cereal in the beginning with my LG. I think you just add water. How was your supper for the men last night? Oh, and welcome to an awesome thread! We are all busy busy busy! I think you are still breastfeeding, right? If so, and if you are not expressing, then try to look for cereal that just needs water, or else you need to add breast milk or formula - am I right girls? I didnt realise this and bought some with my LG and then read you need milk!

Meags, Kimika, Jessica and other March mommies - enjoy your precious newborns! Meags hope all going well your side and that your Mom is being a huge help! Get some rest, ok! Thanks for all the updates! And well done on the pumping! Kimika - good luck for the wedding preparations and cupcakes, am sure you will be glowing in your new dress!

Ok, I better get going. Nathan still asleep but when he wakes up I guess its time to get out of my pj's LOL and do some housework before the ants carry our house away! LOL. Oh, Nathan is still using me as a dummy (right now) - he just refuses a rel dummy! Urgh!

And I promise I will finish the list with everyone's details - have started, but last few weeks have been whirlwind! Ok Nathan awake... gotta run!

So Hi everyone

Had a fairly good week, Jordyn for the last 2 weeks has done bath bottle bed at 6pm and though he sometimes puts up a little fuss(which I think is him not wanting to miss out) he has been good the last few nights. He then only wakes for one feed at 2.30am and then sleeps again until 5/6am. So I feel good, as I am getting sleep. He seems to be having cat naps during the day, maybe 3. but at least today he has had like a 2.5 hour afternoon nap-though im not sure this is a good idea with bed time fast approaching. Other than that, no sign of teeth, I guess the itchy gums and everything to the mouth thing is more a learning thing.

I am looking forward to starting the Rice Cereal halfway through April,and I will be on leave so it will be nice to adjust for two weeks. The pead said we must do cereal once a day for 2 weeks and then for the following two weeks twice a day and then replace one cereal with veg/fruit. What do you think? Its so exciting, really have had to stop myself from starting earlier
