Kids treating me well today. Riaan was at home today, his daycaremom had her mom's funeral today. And baby Kayden was sleeping trough her feedings again today untill i had to wake her for the 16:00 feeding, and now a bit awake. So Riaan and me also took a nice nap from 14:00 - 16:00.

Sorry or no personals now, Kayden needs mommy now...oh dear starting to cry...got 2 go

Meags, I hope you are getting this... just hang in there. NICU is scary. You've always been on the other side of the little bed looking after babies and its very different when its your baba there.

You are also tired and emotionally drained. You have been through so much lately! But you have done AMAZING! Try an ice pack down under and if possible, a red infrared lamp works WONDERS! I promise you, you will forget all this physical pain and emotional upheavel soon.

I guess they didnt want you to unsettle Matthieu and rather said dont hold him, but soon you will be doing kangaroo love.

The one nurse told me once that if I dont hold the feeding tube properly my baby will never get any food and blah blah blah basically starve! Needless to say, I sobbed, alone, next to Nathan's bed (I wasnt able to drive so I was stuck at the hospital) and thought I would never survive! I had after all successfully breastfed Sarah but at the time I felt stupid. I was manually expressing and battling and still couldnt hold a "flipping" tube feed right! (The nurse was pregnant herself and hormonal too, we were basically the same number of weeks pregnant, so I guess she was just human - in the end she turned out very nice, but at the time.... I could have strangled her!)

Why dont you read softly or sing/hum to Matthieu. It will keep your mind off of what is going on and relax you and him! Or tell him about anything, the house on the corner, or something you did as a child or anything just to keep going. It will really help. I sneeked our big story book into NICU (we werent allowed anything in because there was a major virus at Pta East NICU at the time Nathan was there) and I read and read and read. THe nurses stayed away from me then!

You will be holding him in no time! And this will not affect your bonding at all! You just get better yourself! You are blessed (yes blessed) to have had the natural birth, the recovery really is a lot faster.

Your hormones are racing now! And you could be getting the first baby blues, so just hang in there. Rescue drops are perfectly safe to take, send your mom to find some.

If only I could hop over and give you a huge hug!!! But know that I am thinking of you every moment of the day! Dont be afraid to share your emotions!

Before you know it, he will be off anti-biotics and coming home!

mommy - be strong girl. it is crap hard with such such small kids. toddlers are by no means easy to deal with on their own, nevermind adding a baby to that equation.

go and see you GP asap. you are not coping and i don;t see why you need to wait till april to get help. i have meds too, but not needing them now. i have put ashley into a creche now till 3pm every day, to prepare her for when i go back to work, and to teach nanny how to look after emily. creche lasted 3 days before ash got sick - so she is home today with a cold

i can honestly say that i wouldn't be able to do it on my own without Gloria. seriously. i really hope you feel better soon - it is not a nice space to be in now. hugs and kisses to you sweetness. have you considered a play morning once or twice a week for sarah to give yourself a break? she will prob love it.

to the new mommies - hi and welcome. i am almost 30, 3 kids (LB age 10; LG age 19months; LG aged 12 weeks). i live in malmesbury cape town and i am a medical rep in the CT, MRI and Nuclear Medicine field. go back to work in may! oh nooooO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks suhaila my boy Claytin is 100% HEALDED a nd no more neckmass and he is growing so nicely he weights 65.8 and is 63 cm long. I have already started him on solids because he is a hungry boy and he eats pap and veggies and then his 5 bottles of 150ml and he is very healthy
