Hi Maryke, so sorry i missed the Q where u asked me (days back) why my Pead gave Kayden's shots in the arm, i really don't know why, didn't ask - what do i know - only afterwards that i saw everyone else's babas get them in the but/leg even my sisters baby.

i Only now had some time to go read back a bit, to see what i've missed.
So many new ladies on our forum, just had to go back and do some catch-up, and get everyone's baba's names.
Must say we are getting a close big group - loving it.

AFM- Had a great day Yesterday, tired now - was awake almost the whole night/morning BF - LOL...me and Kayden falling asleep the whole time. Struggling to stay awake and putting the tv on is not even helping - why?, cause i stay in bed while BF. Lol had the same problem with LB. Now she is sleeping and i'm making time for moomie for a change.

Vix I am with you with the growing and milestones it's like Aiden is on par with a 4m old where as Llewellyn still lack's a bit, Aiden can also eat and swallow but I am too lazy to give it to him but I suppose I have too soon

I am taking the boys to creche tomorrow cause I need to sort out my uif and my pension at my previous company and I need to rica my phone take the baby monitor back the sound is not working, but I thought I will keep Frances-Jane with me for the day and then maybe take her for a movie again and just spend some alone time with her

Wow Maryke and MiksMom, MommyN, our boys are 4m next week!

I must say it goes so much faster when it's your second (and third) child, 4m seemed like so long with C but this time I've barely had time to wipe the poo from my eyes and they're big already.

Maryke- I'm so pleased yesterday went well and really glad to hear Llwellyn's feet are already much better! Wow, makes it all worthwhile hey? Well done mommy for dealing with all the procedures, those boys have the best mommy getting them all fixed up.

Welcome Mandz, You should start on rice cereal because it has no allergens, my Paed said to get the tummies used to solids before starting with potential allergens because I wanted to skip the cereal thing altogther and go straight for veg but he said rather just give rice cereal for a few weeks first. He told me to give solids at 5m because they were 1m prem. Apparently the best stage to introduce solids is from 4m something to do with when they can best accept food without reactions? I can't remember. He said the reason they say solids from 6m is because they're trying to encourage breast milk for 6m minimum but actually as long as you don't cut down milk in turn for solids then it's fine to start from 4m.

I have to make a confession, this week I started Alex on rice cereal because he's drinking 1L milk a day and that's the first marker for solids but also he suddenly started drinking just half his milk then complaining he's hungry but refusing more milk. I think too much liquid is making him uncomfortable and causing reflux issues again so the rice cereal fills him up but doesn't cause the reflux. Ironiclly since giving him cereal he's drinking more milk again. Alex was ready for it, from the first bowl he knew how to swallow nicely and gobbles up a full bowl of about 5tsp dry cereal mixed with 100ml milk! I will not even try Jono for at least another month, I can just see he's not ready, he is so far behind Alexander in develoment and especially having been a colic baby I believe his system is not ready for solids yet.

Alex although prem has never shown signs of prematurity, it's odd actually, he never went into ICU even though he was 5w prem, never needed oxygen nothing and he's hitting milestones at full term babpy stages. It's odd actually because Jonathan is what I consider to be at regular prem stages, he is exactly that 5w behind on all the milestones and he's picking up weight slowly compoared to his brother. It's like having 2 different children. I was. Bit sad yesterday because I thought maybe I should stop Alex's cereal so he doesn't overgrow Jono but you know what, I can't hold Alex back just because his brother isn't ready, it's not fair to his development, I will just have to raise them at different stages for a while. Alex is already showing signs of trying to sit more upright.

O.k all I can manage for now, I need to get these babies settled before the kitchen people turn up again.

I have my own practice Maryke. The rooms are in my cuz in laws assessment and remedial centre. She is a remedial therapist, I'm there. So are a physio, OT and speech therapist. The practice is 5 mins from my mom who will take care of aaqil while I'm in a session.

We have the 15 week vaccines tom:(

KarinM yep you can give her 1ml - 2ml if you like nothing wrong with that it was made for infants for colic and it's great stuff...yes my boys have club feet so they had there first op last saturday that was the MAJOR op and yesterday they just manipulated the feet need to go back in 3 weeks time again it's very stressfull

I have just about had it with Llewellyn he just doesn't want to go down at night so Ster I used your idea I let him cry a bit within 5 min he is gone sleeping the dummy doesn't work if I hold him and rock him he thinks it's time to play little monkey so it's been two nights now with the crying but last night after 5 min went back in patted his back a bit he settled as soon as I leave the room he acts up again so left him agian for 5 min and voila he slept, Aiden I put hin down whith his bottle he drinks and he is in lala land

I split the two boys in seperate rooms now they kept waking each other must say it's going a bit better

Last week sunday I weighed the boys after the op with there cast on just to have more or less and idea when they being weighed again, so yesterdeay I weighed Llewellyn yesterday and he lost 150g and Aiden picked up 200g I was a bit worried, and the doc just said to me we all go through phases of not eating it's the same with them I shouldn't be to worried he will eat when he is hungry

Shame girls yesterday in the isolation ward there where two twin boys there and I looked and I said to the nurse shame what's wrong whith them and she said they are batteling to feed so I asked how old are they and the nurse said 8 months I couldn't beleive it they where smaller then my boys I thought they where 3 months old shame so they also have a liver virus that's making things worse there little legs I am not lying was as thin as my thumbs I was so shocked and I felt so helpless, they are being tube fed now poor little nunu's
