Hello!!!

Just got back from my appt. Everything is still perfect. One odd thing though. Baby has gained over 500grams in the last week! From 2489 to 3042 in one week! Is that really possible? I know it's estimates but geez! So i bought myself a doughnut on my way to work to celebrate reaching the 3kg mark and say good bye to my over-eating days! From now it's back to my healthy lifestyle, hope it will be easy going back!

I realised as i was laying there that soon i will have my LO in my arms and as much as i can't wait. I can't imagine not feeling him move in my tummy anymore:(

Ertjie, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hope you are really enjoying your little one. Sorry you didn't get to have the birth you wanted.

Solo, my baby does exactly what you describe! I just always thought he is just ticklish & shy like his dad. Good for you standing up to your BF and his mom! I guess this is why i'm a "ghost Facebooker" as my friends call me. I find it odd that some people seem to not understand that that is a public forum!

Kariehn, I still haven't done my hospital tour and the next one is 3 days before my EDD. I am such a procrastinator Glad you enjoyed yours. Did you ever get the Hypnobirthing book? Please let me know cause they had to refund me as well, but i still want it.

Nice and cool day in Cape Town!

Regarding the C-section, it wasn't so bad at all - for the first 4-5 days it is quit uncomfortable, but I am feeling so good at the moment! Just drink my pain meds as prescrbed and I don't have any pain at all!
I was hoping to go natural but it didn't worked out that way!
The pain was bad, but dr gave me an epidural at 13;00 and then waited to see if anything will happen, but at 18:00 still nothing, so we decided on c-sec.

I finally managed to get to the shops to get some MagPhos tissue salts today - my one calf is in constant pain - you can actually feel the huge big knot - so hoping the tissue salts work asap! I am almost too scared to walk for fear it cramps!

We haven't actually been to the hospital yet for our tour - its apparently done on the day we do our ante natal class which is only the 4 June!

Mandy - sorry about the scan And they do really prod and shake and poke hey - I was actually sore afterwards. LOL our baba frowned constantly through it - dont think he was loving being poked either!

Solo - sorry about your mom-in-law - so very sucky!! I have major issues with my weight and am very sensitive about it all right now so I understand. Doesnt help my daughter keeps going "I dont want to be ugly BUT your bum is big" Yeah I know she is only 7 and well my bum is big but still

BettyF, your nursery looks lovely - it really left me teary eyed coz it just reminded me again of how precious babies really are!You did an awesome job...

Well, I went for my 4D scan yesterday and after 45minutes of pocking and prodding we were unfortunately not able to see anything Baby manouvered herself into every possible angle away from the screen and just as we almost got a clear view she put her hands up infront of her face! DH and I begged and pleaded with her but alas no luck...So madam prefers to leave us guessing till the big day...

Esmari thanks for the tip re music. BF promised me two months ago to burn a CD for me... then last week after the umpteenth reminder he actually sat down at the PC and then muttered something about iTunes being stuffed up and he can't find his files. Sooo I reckon I shall just go and buy a couple of CD's . I've heard that the Majors for Minors are quite good.

Karienh I don't feel so bad now! I am really worrying about how my whole pregnancy stress thing has affected my baby and that he doesn't feel loved. But I do love him, and when I try to show him he moves away.
Your maternity ward tour sounds amazing! Aww on seeing new daddy! I hope my hospital care isn't on a par with the two second tour that I got.

I have to vent....
Maybe it's because I'm feeling a bit down about everything, but BF's mother insists on commenting about my weight on FB. Not saying that I've put on weight - just that she hopes I'm not putting on fat and that the fat is going to the baby. She knows darn well how I feel about my burgeoning size and how much her son's comments about my weight hurt me. And now I see where he gets it from! Not as if she isn't overweight either. The first time she commented I let it slide, but today I had to do something. So I posted things NOT to say to a pregnant woman...hoping that both BF and his mother will get the idea. I'm at such a low right now, that I don't need any snide comments about me or the baby. Those of you that are on FB, feel free to add any comments! hehe

Esmari - that's great news on the money coming in. It must take so mcuh stress of you.

Solo, my baby also moves away when I push on him, but then he'll kick somewhere else again. I tell myself we're playing a game. I'm so wondering about the bonding. Ertjie, you sound so happy with your girl and I'm scared that I'll be overwhelmed and not enjoy the first few weeks. Yesterday on the ward tour we saw a new mommy in bed just sitting with her girl, holding her and looking at her. She looked so relaxed and it was such a sweet picture - I hope I can enjoy it.

The maternity ward tour was good. You're right BettyF, a hospital is a hospital, but I'm glad I now have an idea of where to go and where I'll be when. The tour took about an hour - they really took their time with us. And everybody was very friendly, which is a good sign. The highlight of the tour was when they took us to the nursery and a nurse and a new daddy came in with a brand new baby and bathed her. She was sooo small! I can just imagine DH looking slightly stunned while they're giving his boy his first bath.

Solo, my lb is a mommies boy. He loves kicking me. When I rub my tummy he moves toward it. But as soon as someone else wants to feel, he moves away. Very shy. You must try to play some nice music for him. I am doing it with G. I play kiddies music on mp3 player, and put the earphones on my pubic bone area. He loves it!
