question-circle What worked for you - what didn't?

Girly - this is the thingie I'm talking about. I just loved it! I didn't like the more expensive plastic one as your there's thing between your baby's legs to prevent them from 'sliding' down, but then you can't wash probably down there with a girl without moving them up. What I also like with this is that you can turn them around and they can lay down on their tummies for a while while you wash their behinds :-)

Thanks Joli
So glad I'm not alone on the D cup story, and for all I know I could grow another size before the end.
I have comfortable but unflattering bra's from ackermans but cant wear any nice cut tops to flaunt my cleavage with it.

I think I know what thingy you're talking about.
It's the one that fits around the edges of the bath so you dont have to bend low over the bath when washing her?
Our bathroom is next to baby's room, and we'll have a panel heater in the room so hopefully that will be okay. Due 3rd week August so luckily not middle of winter.

I'm waiting to see what the fedhealth baby bag looks like before I buy one. Please post a pic :)
MIL is itching to buy me one but I've told her to wait!

Girly I started wearing maternity bras from about 6 months. My boobs are also big (D cup). I found comfortable (not nice!) ones at Edgars and Woolworths.

I used that thingie you put in the bath from newborn. If you want to save water, get a normal plastic baby bath and put in into the big bath and then put that metal thingie with the cover into the baby bath. Some moms do prefer to bath baby in the room in a bath. For winter I used a heater to warm the bathroom.

Another thing that worked for me with 2nd baby is that I went to a suitcase shop and I bought a little vanity case with zip and pockets (not a suitcase, a bag with little pockets etc.) (will try to post a pic) and I used that as a baby bag. I still use now for Megan. I just added a nappy mat to it.

Baby bear sells the baby wrap that stays on the car seat :)
I am ordering mine next week :)

Keep the ideas coming, you girls are a HUGE help!

What type of baby bath do you recommend for the early months? There are so many choices out there!

Apparently the pregnancy pillow at baby city can also be used as a breastfeeding pillow? Any advice? Im starting to get uncomfortable while sleeping now, my arms get sore from lying on my side :(

Joli when did you start wearing maternity bras? Only once baby arrived or before? I'm a D now so need something with proper support!

I agree Joli and Julz on the shoots. Regret it terribly as well. Plan to go for professional shots ASAP.

What didn't work:
that horrible bath on the stand where you have to put the baby down, pick baby up, flip lid over, bath baby, take slippery baby out, flip lid back!
    big pram
gripe water - never used it
fancy baby shoes - you never use them
    bottle warmer

What worked:
that metal thingie covered in material you put in the bath to bath your baby on
    cloth nappies for burping etc
    breastfeeding pillow
    microwave bottle sterilizer
maternity bras - never used them with 1st pregnancy, but they made a huge difference with 2nd pregnancy
especially for winter babies - you get like a 'blanket' thing you put in the carseat to wrap baby in

Would definately have done a maternity shoot and newborn shoot. Not only because I'm a photographer now, but I really really regret it. My heart is really sore that I don't have those photos :(
