Let me try again!!! Arghhh, I posted this long post and now it's dissapeared. I get so irritated with Moomie sometimes. I must remember to copy my post before submitting.

Hi all you lovely ladies. Yes, it's been very quiet here but I suspect most people are on holiday. My holiday starts tomorrow. I will log in on my phone every now and then.

@ Firefly, nice that you can go for another scan inbetween and maybe see the gender, then you can get some nice bargains at the xmas sales. I also went shopping abit today but there wasn't much to buy in the line of what I was looking for. I need winter goodies anyway. I bought about 4 outfits, mostly babygrows and two cute layette sets.

@ Michelle, the scan is so cute and so clear, you must have loved seeing your little one.

I bought a Tummy tub for the baby, I am quite excited about this product. I first thought it was a gimmick but the more i have been researching it the more I am convinced it will be an investment. if you don't know what it is go look at their FB page
www.facebook.com/#!/TummyTub

My MS is basically gone. I have moments here and there but it's basically a thing of the past now. get heartburn here and there but am armed with sachets of gaviscon incase.

I am off to go look at fabric this weekend to make Babies bedding with. I will be doing a very neutral theme, probably either Stones or greys or Tans/browns. I want to do two sets, a winter set and a summer set. I also want to sew a few receiving blankets and a swaddle wrap.

Hi all, glad to see all are doing well.... 2km I had my foetal assessment scan this morning and the sonographer told me that scan results for downs, cleft palate are 95% accurate, so I would say if everything is normal on the scan then you don't have anything to worry about??

My scan was so much fun this morning- I had the sonographer in hysterics because I made her double check it was a girl before she started anything else!! But it was so cool, she zoomed in on the face and you could clearly see the little bow lips and the nose and the eyes and everything looked fine and measured fine. She checked for ten fingers and ten toes, measured all the bones and the skull & the waist and she even checked the brain segments (I think thats what she called it).

I must admit my stomach is slightly sore this afternoon from all the pushing and moving etc, but its worth it- see Rebecca wriggle and dance and push back- that was a weird sensation, the sonograher pushing down and Rebecca pushing back!

Hi Ladies!

Looks like it's gotten really quiet in here, I'm guessing everyone is probably out of the office on holiday now and the thread will probably pick up again in January when everyone is back.

I'm trying to finish my exams this week, feeling really demotivated and lazy but I actually just need to get around to doing them (they're take home exams which I have to submit by next week).

I'm technically only due for my next scan in mid-Jan but there are private places here which offer to do scans - they do a scan to tell sex at 15 weeks so I'm considering just paying and going for it next week so that I can at least do some baby shopping when the Christmas sales are on...

How is everyone doing?

Hi ladies!

2km sorry abour ur bloods! I had the same problem with my first. (and I was 27) my scan was fine, but the bloods were high. My gyne also gave me the stats but none of it made sense to me. I also asked him about an amnio-he said to me the chances of something going wrong in the amnio was higher than there probably being something wrong witht baba. (obviously nothing is definate). But he said he would wait till the 16 week scan and do a very detailed scan which should show if there was something wrong. So I decided to wait till the 16week scan and tg everything was 100% and my gorgeous lb is now 19 months. It is really upsetting and a stress but you must do what you feel! Pls let us know how it goes!!!!

2kmm, I'm sorry to hear about your results. I have read cases online where people were told they were high risk and everything was actually fine (wish I could remember which blogs, I just went searching and couldn't find the posts I'm talking about).

From my limited knowledge, I would say that if you would continue with the pregnancy, it is probably better not to do the amnio because amnios do carry small risks. Though I would understand that you might want to know in order to be prepared.

I hope that someone else here can give you advice from experience.

Chantel - sorry to hear about your ms! At least you're on holiday after today!

AFM - have finished classes and now need to write exams and essays. Need to start disciplining myself to get them all done quickly!

Morning ladies, it's Friday and I am so glad. Just a few more days then I am on leave.

Who got their test results back from the down screening? As you know I had my testing done on Monday and the NT scan was negative but the doctor phoned me this moring to tell me that the bloodwork was very high risk at 1:90. He then proceeded to say that the combined risk was only 1:1000 which is again negative so he didn't know how to interepret it really. I asked him if I needed an amnio and so he asked me what I would want to do if I got a positive Amnio result and I said without question i would just carry on with the pregnancy. he then said to rather just leave the amnio and continue to monitor it with scans. I spoke to a friend of mine who was also 36/37 when she fell pregnant the third time and she told me that the exact thing happened to her. He NT scan was fine but her bloods were 1:50 and the combined was 1:2700 so that is a bit higher than mine but the bloods were way riskier. her Doctors told her that the scan cancelled out everything and she shouldn't worry and just carry on like normal. Her Son was born perfectly healthy. So I do feel a bit better after speaking to her but wondered what your guys results were like, particularly those who are already passed the age of 35 if there are any of you?
