Hello mammas!

(sorry half my post keeps dissappearing!)

Wishing you all a happy new yr! Hope u all had a good rest!
Firefly, congrats on the blue team

How is everyone else doing? We never went away. Dh starts work Tom I only start on the 9th. So we r in the process on selling our home and buying a house, just been a pain with the holidays coz everywhere is closed or in slow motion. Exciting times, and just have to hope everything works out! The one scary thing is that IF all goes thru quickly I'll be 7 months preggie and moving home  eek. My hubby is amazing so all will be fine! I have started packing some boxes to get a bit ahead.

So I'll be 20 weeks on wed! Can't believe how fast time flies! My due date has changed again to the 23 may. That's what it should be according to my cycle (if that makes sense) baba has been moving a lot, Dh has also felt baba.

So has anyone else started thinking of names?

Have a fab evening!

Hi Ladies :)

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year!

I just got back from a little holiday with my family, visited Mexico and New York. Surprisingly we still don't have snow, it's apparently quite late this year and the temperatures are still relatively warm (like 6 degrees).

We found out that we are having a boy! :) My two younger brothers (23 and 18) came with for the scan and when the ultrasound technician said it was a boy the two of them started fist punching the air and shouting "Yes!".

We did some shopping at the outlet mall near New York - it was the after Christmas sale and they had crazy prices! We got more clothes for this little baby than for dh and I combined, lol. I wanted to cry because there was so much stuff and I wanted to buy it all. The girls stuff is even cuter and more varied...Its just as well I'm not having a girl, I might just have had a little shopping break down :)

Oh! And he's starting to kick me..at least I think he is. I'm not getting a "fluttery" or "butterflies" feeling, instead it feels like little involuntary twitches in my tummy - is that the baby moving?

Welcome Anni! As you can tell, I'm also overseas keeping in touch with home via moomie :) though I will be back soon after the baby is born. I've visited Genesis and it is lovely (the pics on the website don't do it justice), if I were at home I would totally be going there. Sorry to hear about the morning sickness, hope it passes soon! I had horrible all-day sickness but it started getting better around 13/14 weeks. I still have a little nausea now (17 weeks) but I haven't thrown up in about 2 weeks (yay!) and I pray it stays away. How exciting that you might be getting a little pigeon pair!

How is everyone doing? Are people getting back to work soon?

Hello All,

I'm so glad I found an online community based in SA. I just happened to come across this one while doing my endless research on VBAC options in SA. I am 13 weeks along so due at the end of June or beginning of July... depends on when this little acrobat is planning to make his appearance. (at my 12 week NT scan sonographer said there is a 70% chance of being team blue!)

I am 36 years old and have one adorable and very spirited 2 year old daughter. Wasn't planning on having baby 2 due to age (and the fact that one just tires me out completely!) but here I am now almost 14 weeks, looking already like I'm 6 months preggies and still enjoying bouts of all day sickness.

I've been living in Dubai for almost 7 years now and after my first very negative birth experience, I have decided I'm going to have a VBAC with bubs 2 in SA. Don't know how we going to pull this one off but I have already contact Genesis Clinic who have given me contacts of Midwives and have contacted the resident OB/Gynae Dr Mia. Just hoping that everything falls into place in time.

So thats me... hello to everyone and hope you all having a lovely festive season!

Hi everyone!

15 weeks for a bunch of us this week B)

2kmm, sounds like you are really organised! Sometimes being at home on holiday can be just what you need to relax. Sorry to hear about your root canal, ouch! I had one done last year and although I was dreading it, the procedure was actually completely painless (it hurt more to have the toothache), I was so impressed with my dentist.

I've got my gender ultrasound this afternoon so I am praying that baby cooperates and that it actually is accurate (don't want to buy a whole lot and then get told in January that they were wrong!).

Tomorrow we're going south of the border (Mexico) for a few days to get some warmth :) Looking forward to it but I still have a paper due for one of my classes so I'll be working on holiday too :(

Hi ladies

Just a quick pop in while I am online for business. All well on this side. Already made one set of bedding and got my Tummy Tub on Saturday. I am very excited about it.

How are all the holidays going? Seems like most of the ladies have gone off somewhere. Well I am at home this year, no holiday away but I do enjoy being home. I had to go an have the rest of my root canal done today and it was pure torture. Just after dinner, as I finished my last bite of food the whole things fell apart and the entire filling came out. Now I have to go back in the morning. I am so not looking forward to it!!

Anyhow, chat soon

Hi ladies :)

Michelle, cool picture! Sounds like a really fun appointment

2kmm, the link you posted just took me to facebook but I googled the tummytub and it looks pretty cool. I showed it to my dh though and he is convinced we could achieve the same effect with a bucket (even though I showed him the tummytub/bucket comparison on the website). I would love to know how it works when you do use it.

How exciting to go fabric shopping, enjoy yourself :)

I think I am going to see if I can book the gender scan next week...my logic to dh is that even though it will cost us extra to book the scan next week (because it's not covered by our health insurance), it will mean I can shop at the Christmas sales and therefore I will actually SAVE money! Lol.

My ms is also dying down (Thank God!), I just feel a little nauseous when I wake up. I still have some food aversions - although I think it has more to do with the memory of how awful it was to throw those foods up than actual ms.

I've also just started getting cramps in my thighs, mostly just above my knees, and usually in the morning and evenings - is anybody else experiencing this? I think I may need to go get myself a magnesium supplement.
