Hi Ladies
Stacey - It was an exam for a course I'm doing online (I'm slightly crazy since I signed up for an online course in addition to my other studies) so thankfully I could do it at home, on the couch! I'm not sure if I would be able to actually sit an exam, but mine are all in December and I think they are take home exams.
Ronel and Adele - I envy you that you get MS for only a little bit! That's what they show ms to be like in the movies.. Adele, our pregnancies are pretty close together, I'm exactly 8 weeks today - I had some bleeding about 2 weeks ago and the nurse got me in for an ultrasound and said everything was fine. According to my SIL, who is a doctor, if they don't pick up pre-eclampsia or issues with the placenta, then the bleeding shouldn't be an issue. I'm still spotting slightly.
Champers - that ultrasound is great, you can see the baby so clearly!
2kmm, I'm so jealous that you can eat so many things!

I really wish my food aversions would disappear, even more so than the ms. I'm pretty keen on trying hypnobirthing, I just need to find a practitioner here - is anyone else interested in doing hypnobirthing?
I went for my 8 week appointment yesterday - it was a big disappointment. I'm on the university medical aid so I had to make an appointment with their gynecology department. Turns out it is a group practice of about 6 or 7 doctors. For your first appointment you only meet a nurse who takes your history and does an ultrasound, blood tests and urine tests. You then get assigned a doctor but because its a group practice, it's not necessarily your doctor who will deliver your baby - it will be whichever doctor is on call. I'm seriously thinking about looking into midwives and birthing centres here instead, though I'll have to see what the health insurance covers.
