April/May/June 2012 Moomies

Hi all, sorry for being mia... was battling to kick my cold and month end at work!! 16 weeks this week, so excited and hoping to start feeling some kind of definite movement any day now... have been having the 'butterfly wings' sensations for the past couple of days but that first definite movement is the best, I can still remember the first time I felt my dd move 12 years ago!! I have definitely popped this week, lots of stretching & pulling sensations going on... going to have to hit up the maternity clothes at the end of the month!! My next gynae appointment is only 1 December and hoping to find out the gender then... we've settled on names already though- Aidan for a boy and Rebecca for a girl. Has anybody else thought about names yet?

I think when it comes to gender guessing, follow your gut. Nothing like mothers intuition. Everyone told me they thought I was carrying a girl but I knew from the start that it was a boy. Strangely enough, everyone is keeping quiet now. Hehe! I think its a girl and we HOPE to find out at our next scan in 3 weeks time.

Don't worry Champers, I don't think anyone has taken offense. We are a rather big group. I think the reason ppl started grouping months together is because sometimes there are only one or two ppl due in a certain month and the groups end up really small or non-existent. And there really is no way to tell how big or small a group is going to be until you actually establish it!

Sweett86 - I'm with you, cannot WAIT to get to 12 weeks. I'm not sure, but I think that they can't really tell gender until about 18 weeks? I also just have an instinct that I'm carrying a boy but I'm excited to find out

Sorry I've been so quiet. I haven't had much of a chance to get on the computer, but I do read all your posts on my phone.

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Does anybody know yet if they're having girls/boys? I think it is a boy but hoping to find out for sure when I go for my downs scan on the 23rd.

I have been sooooooo exhausted. Nobody but my mom can understand it. I get into bed at 8.30 every night. On weekends I like to have two naps during the day. At least most of my nausea has subsided. I do still have bad gagging attack tho, sometimes even if I walk into a stuffy room.

What kind of food aversions have you guys had? I am even off pepper... Yuck! Anything that I don't normally like is definitely out of the question.

I can't wait to get to 12/13 weeks. Not long to go. Going to see my dr again next week. Dh wasn't going to be able to come but now says he will make a plan because he can't wait to see the little arms. Lol! He has been wonderful. Sounds like we are all very lucky.

Oh first difference between this pregnancy and the previous one, previous time I could not get enough chocolate and huge aversion to meat. This time, I can't get enough spicy food and fruit.

MariBiscuit, we are due on the same day!

There are sooo many expecting moms now I can't keep up. Maybe we should have kept the due date months separate??

Welcome MariBiscuit I think 2kmm is right, you are probably further than most of us - you'll be able to see when you get to the list of estimated due dates.

I'm sure your move will be difficult but it will help that you know someone from there. There's a huge expat community in Perth and I'm sure you'll make friends. With my sister-in-law and her family (they moved to Adelaide), I think the first few months weren't too bad because everything was still new and novel, it was after a few months that they really started feeling homesick.

There's this book by Joanne Fedler called "When Hungry, Eat" which is about her experiences moving from SA to Aus. I gave it to a friend of mine when they moved and she said it really helped her feel that she wasn't alone. If you get a chance, you should take a look at it, it's an easy read.
