I have to say, I would pick heartburn over ms ANYDAY! Also had it badly with my first LO, but would still choose that over ms.

Wow-@firefly that's a lot of weight to loose so quickly! I've also lost, but only 0,5kg in about 3 weeks. I'm just trying to eat anything I can stomach, coz I find eating helps with the ms, but for such a short while.

Really struggling to drink ANYTHING, hot or cold. I used to drink 2l water\tea a day, now I'm strugglingto drink 2 glasses. Gone completely off tea , used to drink 4 cps a day!

2km ur baba looks great!!!!!

Oooh, Steers burgers - that is another thing that I can actually stomach the thought of eating but can't get! I was whining to hubby the other day about missing stuff from home and at the end of it we were both lis for Nandos, Steers, Wimpy...also Akhalwayas (it's a place in Fordsburg that makes the most unhealthy but delicious sandwiches). At least 8 months before I can get any of those things!

I also feel uncomfortable when I eat - really bloated. End up taking tums to help with that.

The shakes are a good idea, I also recently bought the Ensure shakes and thankfully I am keeping them down, so I have a shake twice a day. It helps me psychologically at least because I have peace of mind that I am getting some nutrition even though I'm barely eating. I've actually lost 4kg in the last 3 weeks.

Hehe thanks Ladies, the Doctor was even chuffed with his Ultrasound Pic. The external one is very blurred and you can't see much at all so I am so glad he got this one.

At Adele, I know the feeling, I have very bad heart burn with my two previous pregnancies, I couldn't even have a sip of water and i would go through the roof but I still would pick that over MS anyday. Just the last few weeks when you can't sleep because you have to sit up because of the heart burn thats not cool because then not even any remedies work to fix it.

Firefly, I have some food aversions like Coffee, Tea, Chicken*The idea of chicken makes me want to hurl* But that's about it, I don't feel like I am off anything really but not really in the mood for anything either, I don't really feel like eating but have to force myself. I also bought the Nativa Mom2Be shake and I cant really bring myself to drink it but try because then atleast I know I am getting some nutrients in.

I had a massive King Steers burger with Pineapple & Cheese, Red onion & mayo and chips for lunch and finished the whole thing. When I bought it I didn't realise it had 2 beef patties on it and when I got back to the office I felt like a real pig eating this thing. It was quite nice though but made me so full that I felt uncomfortable afterwards.

2kmm, what a gorgeous ultrasound pic! You can see everything so clearly. I was disappointed with my 8 week ultrasound because the nurse did only the external ultrasound and you could barely see anything. When I went at 6 weeks the ultrasound technician did the internal ultrasound and the detail you can see is just awesome!

Adele - so glad that everything is okay with your baba :)

At the moment I would prob say heartburn only because the ms was so bad and at least I'd be able to chew something for the heartburn. But I haven't really experienced much heartburn and the one or two times I have had it, it was TERRIBLE. Adele - I feel for you, my hubby takes altosec too and I know he suffers if he misses a day!

I don't really have cravings thanks to the ms. Twice I wanted salty/sour stuff ( lemon slices sprinkled with salt) but really, at this point I WISH I had cravings because at least that would mean I feel like eating something. Instead, I have food aversions - meat, cheese (ugh!), bread (the smell of toast makes me want to throw up), yogurt, eggs, hot drinks, most juices, most sweet things - basically everything except maybe some fruit. I'm hungry but getting food down is such hard work. And the only things I can sort of think about eating without throwing up are things like Nandos - which I can't get here :( But THANK GOD it is slowly getting better.

2kidmamma, love your sonar pic.
On the MS vs Heartburn, at the moment I will take MS, but only because I have heartburn so bad that I cannot eat or drink anything! And Gaviscon does not help  I have had cravings, quite diverse though. Currently I crave fruit juice and granidilla yoghurt. Fruit Ice cream, fruit bars. Dried fruit. Fruit milkshakes. Anything fruity for my loopy brain  I think even fruity chappies will do it for me now.

Champers, your baby looks too cute. Amazing how fast they grow.

Update on my doctors visit. Baby looks good and I even got to hear the heart beat. It was amazing. I got some hormones to drink and am due for a follow up on the 15th to see whether the doc should extend the hormones or not.
He told me not to drink the Altosec in the first trimester, :( so heartburn is reaalllyyy bad, I don't even feel like anything.

Also, I should continue drinking glucophage as my insulin is too high. Anybody else drinking it? Quick question on thyroid meds. Anybody on that? My gynae said I could continue with it, but when I went to the pharmacy the assistant told me her friend was told to stop drinking it immediately. Does anyone know whether it is save or not?

Anyway, today and tomorrow is kinda hectic at work. Have a lot of meetings as well as a CSI project to attend to tomorrow. And in between still have to finalise projections. So little time, so much to do....

Hi ladies, I just posted this but seems my post went AWOL.

So I went for my 8 week scan at lunch and everything looks good with Bean. 1.75cm long. Hearbeat at 171bpm which is good and growing on par. 8 Weeks 1 Day. He tried to do it first with the normal sonar but didn't get a good pic or measurement. He finally did the internal and it was much better.
