Scan pic!

Went for the 4D scan yesterday. Baby was lying next to the uterine wall, so only got to get some blurry pics. The hospital scanner, measures smaller than the doctors one, but the radiographer said it is with all of my doctor's patients.

He weighs about 1.4kgs and have already turned head down!

Easter weekend was nice, went to the inlaws. It was my DD's birthday yesterday, so at least she could see her little brother pulling faces at us!

My help hasn't pitched for two weeks now, she can considered herself fired! Unfortunately this also means my house is in a mess, my washing is piling up and I have a kiddies party to organise for Saturday. Add the fact that both my financial officer and accountant is not in the office for the rest of the week.(one off sick and one off to a funeral ) and it is financial year end.

I am totally in over my head this week.

Its been a while since I posted on this forum. Been really crazy on my side. Went to US for 16 days and it was amazing! Activated our green cards, got our social security numbers, opened up bank accounts, did some apartment hunting in Manhattan and did a bit of job networking. Overall a good trip although the cold weather seemed to follow us from NY to Orlando

So now we have decided to not have bubs in SA anymore. I was really looking forward to the experience at Genesis as it seems an ideal setting especially since I am planning a VBAC Will continue with my current OB and hospital. Timing is really off and we still in the process of selling off all our goods here. Proving to be quite a time consuming task and my energy levels are quickly depleting.

Purchased the Hypnobabies course while in US (thanks for the tip Firefly) and am starting with it this week - still in jetlag mode with our days turned into nights and I understand that you need to be awake while doing it or you will fall off to sleep. Also bought the Ina May Guide to Childbirth on Kindle and am busy reading it now. Cannot believe how many interventions and useless tests we are made to go through being pregnant! Its really an eye opener. TBH I have only seen my OB twice in my pregnancy this time around. Still need to bother with the GD test which IMO right now won't affect any decisions I make with my birth and my body.

Right now I am preparing myself mentally for a hospital birth and working on my birth plan.

Fireflly sounds like you're going for loads of tests It's actually really good that they're being extra careful so you don't have to worry.

My little boy is also measuring bigger (1/2weeks) than usual. My first baby was 3.75kg so hopefully this one won't be alot bigger!!! Really do not want another episiotomy again..really won't be able to cope with a toddler, newborn and not being able to sit and NO help.

Thinking of you Michelle. I am sure you must be very eager to hold little Rebecca in your arms. Feel free to sms one of us perhaps so we can share the news on your behalf. I will PM you my Cellnumber, you can even mms a photo and I can load it up if you'd like?

2kmm and ronel - your babies will share a birthday I've also had a tiny bit of spotting but since I'm in the land of medical drama and overcautiousness it led to me having to have an internal exam, an extra scan to check the placenta, a fetal fibronectin swab test (to check if there's a certain enzyme present which would indicate pre-term labour) and a Strep B swab test (which they do 2 weeks before labour), all in case I was in pre-term labour! False alarm, obviously. For about 2 spots of blood.

And although the scan was to check the placenta (which is fine), they did baby's brain measurements too and now want to do a follow up scan with a maternal fetal medical specialist to double check one of the measurements *just to be cautious* So that's happening next week.
