heart April/May/June 2012 Moomies

Hello everyone

Firefly, the moving was hectic. We're still trying to settle in. My partner only started a permanent work today (after 5weeks of job searching) and we're still waiting for our boxes to arrive - they're 1.5months late!! So it was quite stressful but now we can start relaxing.

We don't have ANYTHING for baby yet, no clothes no toiletries! Only a cot and bath that we bought second hand this side. Hopefully baby doesn't decide to come early.

Thanks for keeping the list updated! I'm hopefully giving natural birth at 40 weeks (8 May 2012) although I won't be too upset if baba decides to come earlier...SO tired!!

Champers I'm also super tired!! My daugther Mignione (2.5years) are also super clingy! I cannot even wash dishes without her crying next to me.

Michelle that glucose test sounds horrible! Here in Aus a glucose tolerance test is standard and I went for mine 3weeks ago but didn't feel bad at all, it only took 1 hour and I felt normal. It's probably because your sugar is a bit high that you felt so bad afterwards?! Hectic!

Is anyone of you having hectic braxton hicks contractions. It feels as if my tummy is almost permanently hard. Very uncomfortable. The 2nd pregnancy is definitely worse than the 1st..at least with the 1st one I could sleep when I want and for how long! Now I have a toddler to keep busy too!

Hi all,

Hope all are well... still here and still struggling along, really tired and uncomfortable these days and emotional - cry at everything and for nothing

The glucose tolerance test was terrible!! spent 2 hours feeling  and shaky and weak and kept bursting into tears, I think the Lancet Nurses were glad to see the back of me!! Took me about 2 hours after I was finally allowed to eat and 2 cans of coke later to feel right again and two weeks later I still have a massive bruise on my arm the size of a R5 coin where they drew blood three times. It was no fun at all... the results did show that my blood sugar is slightly elevated- not quite gestational diabetes level, but it is up. but dr mahomed remembered me telling her that I have these cravings for fruit- apple juice, pineapples, plums, grapes etc etc all the 'wrong' fruits in terms of sugar so she just asked me to cut back on that and rather eat citrus fruits and banana's and if I drink soft drinks than it must be the sugar free variety so thats what I have been doing.

All of Rebecca's things are washed and packed away and everything that is needed has been bought so I guess now the count down begins... I'm so ready for her to arrive, very tired now.

Hi there

I chatted here in the beginning of my pregnancy but in the meantime we moved to Australia so things were REALLY hectic so didn't have time to chat on here :)

I'm 33weeks pregnant and due 8th May 2012. Feeling the tiredness, very uncomfortable and the 'sooibrand' has started!!

Hope all your ladies are having good pregnancies so far :)

Hi Ladies :)

Michelle, your bump is looking great! :) How was your glucose test?

Adele - 1.7kg in a week is a lot! Well done. Glad your lunch went well. My paper is progressing s-l-o-w-l-y. Can't wait until I hand it in. My exams and my term officially end on 2 May! Enjoy your scan tomorrow!

Babylove, I'm due 13 June. I have a list which I will add you to and post

2kmm - The belly painting sounds like a lot of fun :) I need to get around to friending everybody, facebook will definitely be an easier way to communicate once labours have started and babies are here.
I was chatting to some muslim moms/pregnant women on facebook about cloth nappies and recommended they check out doodlebums, so I hope it brings you some business! I am probably going to order my stash of cloth diapers from here, I'm not sure if you are familiar with any of the US brands? I'm trying to decide what to get, I'm looking at fuzzibunz, thirsties, g-diapers, fancypants... I think they may be different from the ones you get in SA. I'm planning to order a couple of each of the different makes and then I can always add to it when I get back to SA later this year.

AFM, am officially in 3rd trimester this week! I saw (literally) 2 spots of blood last week and mentioned it to my midwife at my checkup... now I wish I hadn't said anything because they're super-cautious and were worried about pre-term labour/placenta previa and I ended up getting an internal exam, getting tested for Group B Strep, having to go back for a fetal fibronectin test (an enzyme which gets released just prior to labour) AND having to do an ultrasound to check the placenta. Turns out everything is fine (thank God) with all of that. They suspect I just have a "sensitive cervix".

How is everyone's week going?
