2kmm, I am glad everything is well with you and baby. My baby has also been measuring bigger constantly. Last scan the edd was 9 June. To put it in context, my little girl was 2.38kg full term. My doctor also has my edd as 26 June, which incidently I am disputing with him, because when I take my lmp it should be 14 June, and my cycles have always been exactly 28 days!!

I guess this means that I am doing a little wait and see game, which is really hard for me, as I am a compulsive planner.

Afm, I am really looking forward to this weekend. We are going to the inlaws, and they usually have a nice slow pace of doing things. I want to arrange a little easter egg hunt for my daughter.

On Tuesday it is her birthday, I can't believe she is turning 5 already. I am also going for a 4D scan in the morning, taking big sis along. Hope he is kind to us on Lene's birthday

Wednesday my Sister is coming from America for a visit. Her eldest daughter's birthday is also in April and they will stay for Lene's party on Saturday before going to Sun City for the following week. I wish I could tag along, but I am really stingy with my leave right now. Saving up all extra days for the baby At least Lene can go along and she is super exited!!

@ 2kidmamma - My c-sec is also scheduled for the 4th of June. I went to Stellenbosch MC's maternity ward tour on friday and was very impressed and pleased with the maternity ward. Glad everything is ok with you and baba. I also have the occassional spotting, but I had it with my LG so the gynea checked everything and was happy that nothing was wrong. I am going for another scan next tuesday, I can't wait!

MichelleJvv, don't worry about the Ceaser. The fact that it's a planned event makes it much easier where everything is concerned. There need not be any rushing. The Catheter is inserted after the spinal so you don't feel it. When you have it in the first day they put those funny woven panties on you with the sanitary towels so you do have 'Underwear" on the whole time. It's not a degrading process as some people would have you think. Even though you have to have a ceaser, please rather try and enjoy your birth and not go into it with negative thoughts or you will not have the best possible birth experience under the circumstances.

AFM: 29 weeks 5 days today. Was at the doctor for a scan today and was glad it was today because I woke up with some spotting so was a bit concerened. Anyhow, he checked all the possibilities and is very happy with everything. He doesn't know what caused the spotting, he can't even see any blood remaining on my cervix so he doesn't know what happened. Baby still head up but weighing in at a heafty 1.75K'gs already. He keeps saying he thinks this one is planning an early entrance like the other two but the CS is still set for 4 June at 39 Weeks. My Scans have constantly measured a week ahead of my dates right through the pregnancy so I am wondering if I don't have my dates wrong because they have never evened out or changed. Any of you experiencing this?

Quick update... c-section is set for 11 April 2012... had a minor freak out when gynae's office phoned, thought I still had two weeks so quick adjustment of mindset!

Michelle - my catheter they inserted after I received my spinal, so I didn't feel a thing. And when they took is out, it felt like a plug being pulled out, it wasn't sore. My c-section was done on the wednesday morning and I could get up the thursday morning. Overall I had a very positive experience with my first c-section. I had pain afterwards but please remember that each person is different and reacts different to pain. But like Adele said the pain medication is very effective. And you can always ask for more or other pain medication.

AFM - I am 29 weeks and is everything is going good. I am starting to get really uncomfortable but otherwise I can't complain. I am seeing the gynea again on the 10th of April and my c-section is scheduled for the 4th of June. My LG's birthday is the 9th of June, so I asked the gynea to be home with her birthday!

Hi Michelle,

The catheter is not sore at all. I did not even feel a thing. Yes, you have to wait for them to take it out, but it happens quickly so it doesn't bother too much.

You should also be able to get up really fast and move around. The pain meds they give are really effective and other than a bit uncomfortable you should feel great.

Good luck, I know this is very daunting for you. Before you know it, it will be over.

I have a couple of questions about a c-section that I'm hoping my fellow moomies who've had a c-section before might be able to help me with?

Ok so the catheter... does it hurt when the put it in and take it out? Is it something I can just breath my way through?
Also, after the surgery, if you've got a catheter in, I take it you cant wear a pad or underwear until the catheter comes out? Do you just lie there on a linen saver until they take the catheter out and you can put underwear on with a pad?

Sorry... just got so much going through my head at the moment... also feeling a bit frustrated as haven't gotten a firm date out of the doctor yet and everyone keeps phoning and bbm'ing asking what the date is... aaaahhhhhhh
