@ Sonsbaby, I have also been freaking out about my weight gain (especially on my butt!!)
During my last pregnancy I gained quite a bit during the last trimester :S The baby is supposed to gain weight, not me! I have also seen my sister, SIL and a cousin balloon during their 2nd and 3rd trimesters after loosing weight in their first months!
I had such good intentions to exercise and keep fit, but life has just happened. Keep trying to do some yoga in the morn, but i cant wake up early enough, and then i intend to go for a walk during my lunch, but its scorching outside!
I have gained about 8-9kgs at 23 weeks, and i didnt have the best of starts, though I think I had better fitness levels than with the 1st pregnancy.
I was doing really well initially and then we went on holiday.... and the carb cravings are sooo bad!

@Sonsbaby - I am so happy you asked this question. I am having such a hard time accepting my weight gain.
I am 27 weeks and I have put on 10kg! I was hoping to only put on 11kg throughout the entire pregnancy.

I did chat to my gynie about it who was not worried at all - I also look HUGE and have lots of people ask when baby is due.(doesn't help that I am carrying to low so it could look like I am about to pop any day!)

But according to my small build and height it is perfectly ok.

Cant want to start some serious exercising after my LG has arrived - hubby has strict instructions that I will be going to boot camp classes twice a day and he needs to make sure he is at home! LOL :woohoo:

Hallo Ladies!!

Hope everyone is well! I have not been on for a few days with the in-laws that was still visiting from Ireland and then starting work again everything is so hectic at work crazy really!! Thankfully the in-laws returned to Ireland on Saturday! I learned in the last two weeks that my mother in law is quite a handful wow! So glad she is staying so far as she seems to be one of those mom's that loves to interfere!

It took me a while to catch up on al the chat lol...so here goes! (apologies ahead for the very long post lol) :woohoo:

@ licious - congrats on the little girl! Don't feel bad about being a bit disappointed with the gender! I was also a bit disappointed when I found out we are having a little boy even though I told myself beforehand it does not matter...must have secretly wanted a little girl it seems! I have done some reading up and it seems that "gender disappointment" is a real recognised issue and allot of pregnant mommies experience it! In the end the disappointment goes away and is replaced with unconditional love!

@MomtoChloe - Glad everything went well with the scan! Sorry to hear about your job hope you did not have problems with UIF! My hubby got retrenched in November last year and is still struggling with the UIF thing...they keep on sending him back with forms that is incorrect according to them so frustrating!! :headbang:

@LisaMcK - Oh goodness hope you are coping with all the baby shower arrangements!! My mom and sister in laws is arranging mine lol I am not allowed any details so that is kept top secret lol! Glad your scan went well as well!! Thanks for that nappie guideline did not know they had one!

@Jay-bee - Cute belly bump!! Glad your scan went well too!! Holding thumbs for you for a natural birth and that all goes well!! How was the cruise? Hope there was no seasickness??

@Maj - Glad your nanny is ok!! That must have been so stressful!!

@CDLK - that is a very lovely name!! We are not even close to deciding on a name!! Why does it seem so much more difficult to decide a name for a little boy??

@ninnies - I have a bottle warmer for when the baby needs to drink the expressed milk and it needs to be warmed up. But mine is second hand that I got from my sister-in-law somehow I doubt I would have gone out to buy one just for this purpose.

We have a few things for the baby like the pram plus car seat chose the Chelino Cayote one, a bath and feeding chair! Other than that we have a few blankets, quite a bit of clothes from a friend who had her baby boy last year!

I am not sure what bottle brand to use or nappy brand! I think I will wait as well for the baby shower to see what I get! I do have a second hand electronic breast pump that I got from my sister-in-law and hopefully it will work well for me otherwise Ill have to go buy a new one!

I need to ask a delicate question :P how much weight have everyone put on since the beginning of the pregnancy?? I am a bit worried about my weight gain till now!!  I have put on a whopping 9 kg since the beginning and I am now at 25 weeks and 4 days I feel huge!!

@ Gib, thanks for the advice on the pumps.
@Jaybee, how was the cruise?

@LisaMcK and Fairychild, I found I used alot of size 3 & 4 nappies with my daughter. But she poo'ed very seldomly whilst i breastfed so we did not go through alot of size 1s. I know some kids who make a poo before /after every feed and go through alot of 1s and 2s.
Personally I wouldnt stockpile nappies. I changed brands multiple times during her nappy days. Started with huggies, size 1 and 2 was pampers premium care, size 3 was pampers active, then switched to huggies, then went back to pampers for a bit, and 4 plus was back to huggies!
Wetwipes - i found diff brands effected my daughter as well, eventually stuck with the johnsons and johnsons unscented. And the free huggies/pampers from baby city nappies were used for dirty hands.

Anyone considering non-disposable nappies?

Hi Fairy Child

At this stage, I don't have much size 1 and 2 as I believe at lot of people will buy in these sizes for the baby shower and from general feedback you wont be in those sizes for too long. (I have 2 x 43 Size One, and 2 x 94 Size 2)

I believe it is more worthwhile stock piling on size 3 and size 4 (even a 4 plus)

This is my first pregnancy and going in feeling a little bit blind - so perhaps some mommies can give their feedback?

I saw this guideline on Babies R Us and I have been working off of it so long...

I also feel you can never have too many wet wipes, I have 30 packs so far. Once again I want to see what I get from my baby shower first and then purchase. I am really aiming to not have to buy any toiletries / nappies / wet wipes for the first 6 months.
