Thanks ladies for all the love!

Maj I have suspected cervical incompetence when the cervix opens and causes pre term labour so as a precaution we placed a cerclage which in essence is a suture tied around the cervix to ensure that the cervix doesn't open.

If everything is a craving then I have it. I eat whatever I can get my hands on. Not a good idea when you around cakes and sweets all day. Too scared to get on a scale to see how much I've picked up but I look much further along than I actually am and my boep is growing by the day. I still get nauseous at times even at 16 weeks so whoever said nausea goes away at 12 weeks was lying!

I'm still nervous about the pregnancy and even though the doc said it's ok to announce the pregnancy on FB I still haven't. Half of me is too scared I jinx it.

Afternoon Ladies,

Sorry I have been a bit busy. Was in Robertson for a week with the funeral, and when I got home and back to work, chaos ensued.

I have just sorted over 100 emails today...so now taking a breather.

I am craving everything spicy!

As for Boep, I am huge, my mom says I look 6 months pregnant instead of 10 weeks! I need to go buy bigger clothing already. The joys of number 3 I suppose!

Have any of you started buying stuff... I bought 4 Tommee Tippe bottles as they were R200.00, and a pack of nappies. We are finishing the floors in the new baby room tomorrow, so then I can start organizing and decorating.

My friend had her twins this morning, both girls, 2.8kg and 3.2kg both 51cm. So very big at 37 weeks.

@Dessie, I am so sorry about your loss, and about the stress with your FIL.
What is a shirodkar cerclage/cervical stitch?

@Jay-Bee and MomToChloe, if I could get 9 hours of sleep, that would be great! I need more hours in the day!
No cravings from me either (except for choc chip flapjacks on Monday), just eat everything! I am eating waaay too many carbs!
Avo's always make me feel a bit queasy especially if they too soft!

My boep is really growing too, In the morning, i can feel the flab, and pull it in, but by evening its more solid, and I def cant suck it in!

I have taken the afternoon off today, have 50 things to sort out.... im hoping to find some time in there to just chill before I need to be home!

Hello Girls....

Dessie, Im so incredibly sorry for your loss, I lost my son at 21 weeks pregnant, 6 yrs ago.... Still miss him to this day, will we ever get over it? Im so super grateful for this baby on the way...

Jay-Bee, I'm right there with you on the 9 hrs sleep but still feeling exhausted!

How's the cravings? Not craving much, eat pretty much anything that I can get my hands on, except for avo's, had one yesterday and I was so nauseous the rest of the day, just thinking about it makes me want to puke!!!! Yucky!!! Hahahahahahaha...

I swear my boep is growing everyday, I'm feeling rather huge today.... A whole 9 weeks tomorrow

@ Maj, I love Melkbos and was there on the beach the other day. Its a bonus that your office is casual as I am sure it will be much easier in mid Summer for us.

@ Dessie, so sorry to hear about your sadness and loss  My hubby already has a tattoo and says when baby is born he wants something to celebrate the birth and with my initial or something to that effect but I don't have one and don't think that I would ever get one.

How are all the ladies?

AFM, besides having a big boep and so tired even after 9 hours sleep all is good.

I posted my first post a while ago but so much has been going on I haven't been able to follow posts. My father in law is in hospital with end stage cancer so it's been pretty stressful. Luckily we own our own little bakery so we've been able to be at his side as much as possible.

I'm 16 weeks now and went for my shirodkar cerclage/cervical stitch at 14 weeks and my follow up appointment yesterday showed my cervix is long and the stitch has healed well. So far so good for a healthy full term pregnancy (please god). I've got another check up at 18 weeks which is more for my mental wellbeing as this is when we lost the twins, their first birthday will be in November too. I'm thinking of ways to remember them and honour them on the day, hubby wants to get a tattoo but this option is out for me.

I can't wait to start feeling baby girl now! I know it's early but I'm waiting patiently!!

@licious, so long as the dr says its normal! did he give you a reason as to why tho?!

@Jay-Bee01, im loving the heat today (but im sitting in an airconditioned office!) and my office is in melkbosstrand so we get a cooling breeze off the ocean! Summer took waaaay too long to get to CT! My skin has been very dry though!

The maxi dresses are great as most of them have strings or elastic just under the bust, and it aint even maternity!! i saw some nice ones on SPREE, i did not look at prices, etc as Im hesitant to order clothes online.
I was pregnant around the same time of year the last time, and I lived in 3/4 dresses. But our office is very casual, you can turn up in sneakers and no one bats an eyelid!
I have more of a prob with clothes when you are 9 months pregnant and its winter.

Smoothies are great, I love having them for breakfast, am often drinking it on my way to work anyway.
