ally - how about asking all your fam and friends to only speak afr to him? even if he struggles they shouldnt comment or switch over to eng - hearing it sparks the old knowledge quite quick - brett told me its difficult for him if he is practising and they give him easy way out of switching over to eng as only practise gives him confidence and once he got into flow of it he would ask what is that word? he was like 99% eng when we met in london we all spoke afr so for him to fit in the house he had to practise alot and by end of the time he was comfortable in it and now adresses clients etc in it quite a confident matter then people dont laugh at all

he can also read and then highlight words he want translated - like beeld for example

Thanks for all your advice. We didn't sort anything out but kind of just carried on. I think he realised that he completely over reacted and as he is VERY proud, hasnt said anything yet. I think he just felt a bit overwhelmed and felt like he was going to be completely un-involved with the Afr. But he must just make more effort. The problem is that I laughed at him speaking afr when I met him 8 years ago so he says I ruined it for him. So What can I do to encourage him to start speaking it more?

The twins were fine this morning. No tears. Teacher said Aidan cried about 30 minutes after I left but when we went to fetch them now they were playing so nicely and apparently they had a nice day.

Ally how were the twins at drop off this morning?

AFM Shrey has his first cold for the year. Just giving him some Sinumax to help clear the nose out ... really hoping he won't get a fever or any other symptoms. Otherwise he's enjoying school this week. Yesterday he was ready to go back after his evening bath When my mom asked him how his day was yesterday he had just one word for her 'GREAT' hehehe.

I keep forgetting to mention that we'll be up in Jhb (not sure where we'll be staying yet) on the easter weekend. Can't wait cos DH & I are going to watch Phantom of the Opera one the afternoons while we're there.

Helen: I swear me and you have similar kids. Nina is the exact replica of Buhle I always laugh reading what she is up too. I am so sorry about your dad I am sure you must be worried about him I know I would be out of my minds. I was listening to the news and look at Mohamedd Ali he is still going strong after so many years of his diagnosis.

Nicole: I am sure you must be so happy to hear that K is doing so well at school. How is hubby doing hope work is not as hectic

AFM: Siba still cries when we drop him off but they assure us after two minutes he settles down he seems to be doing well at school getting constant feedback from the message book we have our first parents meeting. Looking forward to that. Buhle is doing well chatting up a storm being a bully hiting siba when he cries and then she starts crying. Her new thing once she is done in the morning she starts looking for DH shoes, keys and her car seat takes her lunch bag and she starts screaming she wants to go to playschool my sister had such a good laugh. Im loving this stage when they play together and siba making an effort it melts my heart. And hubby is so hands on.

Just a quick post

Nelria nice to hear from you, yes K has been off the dummy since November, he never cried for it and only asked for it the day after and when i showed him it was broken, he never asked again.

Ally how are things?

Zee, things sound hectic. Im sure Zee will start adjusting, it took K roughly two weeks. xxxx

Things feel hectic this side and im sooo tired, worked til after 10pm last night and then i couldnt fall asleep so ended up watching a movie and only went to bed at 12:30 *sigh*

K doing well and loving his school. Teacher can see a huge improvement from last year already, says he talks more and has become more confident etc.


Lisha how is Shrey adjusting to school?

Mandy i hope you, Jenner, Cam and Dh are doing well

Simone how is everyone on your side? Hope Addy is still enjoying playschool?

Ok got to run, have a meeting in the next 15min which i just need to gather some info for.

Hope you are all doing well. Sorry I am extremely busy at work and the evenings at home are so busy I hardly have time for two words with hubby. Zander is doing quite well and although he is a bit niggly (the daymother swears he’s teething already) he is still smiling and quite content. He actually slept through last night … Ziani woke 3 times though. She is having a hard time adjusting at school, she is now a week there and man, the crying doesn’t stop. She cries in the morning and even at nights, asking me thousands of times if I will come and fetch her again from school. It’s heartbreaking. The teacher says she is quite happy in the day though, she plays with one friend, she participates, loves to dance and sing and chats animatedly with the teachers. So I guess, we just have to get through the first couple of weeks!
Will try to log in soon and chat a bit!! I really miss you all.

hello ladies

As u know I am in cape town and BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY its SHITTTTTTTT warm man am glad I am gautenger not cut out for this heat, winds and discomfort

otherwise not doing much as too hot to go out so splash pool in shade and movies for kids and chats for me and sus

kids are great - xen is getting really skinny though (where always surprised at your skinny boys - but xen the same only 12kg and not gaining since 15mnths (not a great eater) - as opposed to lea clocking in at 17kg already eating all

helen - super cool re oliver and poo - lea still on night nappy too and keeping it till when ever as she still has milk and water before bed and wakes with wet wet wet nappy so maybe around 4
