Thanks Nicole! Unfortunately we are leaving for Kzn tomorrow already. We will have to let her stay with my mom but thankfully it sounds like he will be working away for most of the time.
I tried talking to my mom, but she just says I'm being unreasonable and that she trusts him (she only knows him for maybe a month, so WTF?!?!).

Well I better start organising and sorting out our stuff as we are leaving early tomorrow morning.

Just a quick post

Christi yip i was in the same exact situation. My mom BF eventually understood why we did not want him sleeping with K and only mom stayed/slept with him at that point. I after the wedding made an effort to get to know this guy a little better and now (over a year later) both him and my mom watch K.

I think you have to go with your gut feeling personally I would not want K to share a bed with a person that neither I or him know that well. Have your tried asking your mom and maybe explaining to her how you feel? Another thing is when are you leaving to go to KZN....is there enough time to get to know this guy or not really?

It really is a difficult decision and like you said its not only for one day but for a week. Another option is to speak to your FIL (who i am assuming you feel more comfortable with) and chat to him about your concerns regarding smoking around Iris - im sure being her grandfather he will understand your concerns?

Hi Ladies!

Zee, Kota is a real angel. Iris seems to love him, but she keeps on picking him up and then try to carry him around...she usually holds him around his body under his arms, but twice today she had the poor little guy around the neck.... She always seems to know just when to take her chance cause she usually does it when I am busy with something like dinner or the dishes etc...

I had him weighed yesterday and he is at 5.3kgs @ 12weeks.

Ladies, I need a bit of input... (Nicole I think you had a similar situation at your wedding..?)
We won a couples week in KZN (they agreed that I could take Kota as he is only 3mnths & still BF) and Iris would've gone to stay with my mom for the week.
Now the thing is that she has got this new boyfriend that we've only met once for about 2hours, the guy seems to be there permanently and when I asked if he was moving in she said YES The thing is that Iris will be sleeping in the cot in the same room, and M & I are not really comfortable with the idea! My mom cant seem to understand that its a problem for us and says that she is there the whole time!?!?? And that SHE trusts him... (well at the moment I am not trusting my moms judgement, long story....) When I asked what she's gonna do when Iris wants to get in the bed with her (read: them) (which she usually does..) she said then she'd let her.. WTF???
Am I just being paranoid ?????? PLEASE let me have your opinions on this..???

We could let her stay with my FIL but then she'd have to sleep in his room..? Not that I don't trust him, but they all smoke in the house... Although I guess knowing she's gonna smoke 2nd hand for a week but be with people we (and she) know, is a better option..? Aaaaagggg flip, I don't know what to do!!!

Well, since Zander woke up at 3 am and I then realised that his bottles aren't sterilized I have been up for a while. Ag, man he is so cute now although I do not appreciate the cooing and giggles in the wee hours of the morning ...

Mandy, glad you've got someone to help you. I know why they use lack of sleep as a torture method, it can most certainly drive you crazy! Yes, my back kills me when I have to pick up Ziani all the time as well She is really now in a tantrumy difficult phase. Hope it passes soon, I try to be patient but I am getting frustrated with her moaning and crying, etc.

Lisha, glad that shrey is feeling better and that it went well going to school. Hope all the work wasn't that bad!

Ange, so nice that your mom is visiting and it sounds as if Cole is enjoying her! How long is she staying? My mom hasn't been here in ages, I think she's a bit frightened of the kids at this stage!

Ziani moaned and was in hysterics yesterday morning when she had to school but when I got there in the afternoon she was playing quite contendly with the building blocks at school. I guess we just need to stick it out, she needs the stimulation there and socially she is much better with other kids. I have often find that she chats a lot with adults but with other kids she is hesitant to play and a bit akward really so now she talks with them and plays along, which is great.

Okay, I'm off need to get ready for work. Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Nicole yip Shrey is also going through a VERY rough phase and for some reason I get the most punches in the leg or rough play. He's been going to the naughty corner a little more often these days. DH keeps telling him that he can only play fight with him but nope I am a punching bag at times too and gosh those bony hands can hurt a person.

Shrey's feeling mostly better. His nose is still a bit congested and the Rinex isn't helping so I got some Sinumax yesterday and hope that's going to help a little more. He was surprisingly fine going back to school this morning, no tears etc. Once he got there he asked dh for his rice krispies and he was happily having his breakfast when dh left.

Working half day today, need to attend a prayer around 2pm so leaving at 1 then rushing home to shower and have some lunch before we leave. Expected to be a late night but we'll work around Shrey and go back home early if need be.

That's all I can remember for now. All is well on my side and my mom suprised us with a visit this week. Cole is getting spoilt like crazy so I know there is going to be drama when my mom leaves. He even pulled a tantrum and said he did not want to go to "school" today and would rather stay with his Grandma.

Anyway I will pop in again a bit later!!

Helllooooo !

Gals.. Even though we are not here chatting as often, I know I still have my moomie clan in the background should I need ya !! Miss you all though ! Well, life is flipped hectic with 2. Jenna is 6 weeks now and is really such a blessing and just so perfect but not yet a sleeper! Luckily with my second, I really know that as bad as it gets, it passes and all will be alright ! She sleeps 3 - 5 hrs in the late evening and then wakes up hourly to 2 hourly.. Luckily I now have the most awesome live in maid who is amazing with Jenna and cam, so I do have a sleep for about 2 hrs during the day.. But week ends, I don't really get a chance so they are harder... My breast feeding mostly with formula every 2nd or 3rd night just when I feel that I've run out and she is still hungry.. Doing my best ! It's going better than with Cam.

Zee ,I can so relate about the older one wanting to be in your arms when you are busy with the baby!!! Sorry about the ups and downs for Ziani with school.. I let Cameron take his teddy on the days he is needy... Cam is loving school at the mo luckily !

Nicole apparently the boys have a lot more testostone as toddlers than they did as babies so that could be why as they are definitely very rough.. I have I tought Cameron that he can be rough with dad but not with me but I do have to constantly ask him to do. Things softly or gently !
