Hi moms, sorry been so busy. But had an awesome weekend and the picnic at Delta was lovely, those jungle gyms are super. Johnny went down his first slide, just the little one. He was a bit freaked out but each time Dad caught him at the bottom he was happy

J has a pigeon magmag juice cup that started off with a normal teat, now he is on the sippy teat. I tried the straw 'teat' the other day but he didn't really get it. But about 2 weeks ago I had a small fruit juice carton and he managed to sip out that straw, not a lot but he got the sip action then.

Shame Sher, hope your work starts easing up soon. What kind of business would you like to own one day?

Oh by the way, John now has 6 teeth! The other top one (2nd on the right) has cut through. He cried so badly the other night, it must have come through then. I gave him panado and prodol and he was still unhappy so I gave him neurofen too. I wasn't sure if it was teething but yesterday he was absolutely fine and I managed to get a look in his mouth and there it was

PM, how is Abby's foot? Hope she can dance today.

Fathers day was great, I made a card with John's hand and footprints for Simon, he was very chuffed. I made him breakfast that was supposed to be in bed but J fell asleep in our bed so we ate outside. Then we had my folks and Si's dad and our stepmom for lunch. We got curry from the new Spar at Hobart, its like the Pineslopes Spar and we had rice and veg and jelly and custard. Very nice and relaxing.

Cols, are you still going away this weekend? That special sounds awesome and I love Clarens, that whole area is so beautiful but especially this time of year I think. How is Evan, is he better after the antibiotics and cortizone? Poor little guy.

John is standing more now and getting steadier and I even leave him hanging onto the couch or the ottoman or something and he stands for a while and sometimes takes one hand off and moves a little. But still not crawling forwards, I guess he is just a little slow in that department
But he can put his dummy in his mouth himself and has been doing so for months! So I have not done a dummy run for ages. We always attach his dummy to a dummy chain so he can run his fingers down it and find his dummy

Happy Hump Day! I can't remember the origin but I think in the States they call Wednesday Hump Day - something to do with the middle of the week I think and then being over the hump and closer to the weekend!
And yes Kerry, happy winter solstice to everyone for yesterday and now the days should get longer! I don't have to leave the house at 5h30 but Simon does and J usually wakes up so I am normally freezing my butt off in the kitchen making his bottle when it is still dark.

My friends had a baby yesterday, another boy (we know so many boys)! Imagine having a baby now and breastfeeding all hours of the night? Brrrrrr

Kerry - Emily now happily drinks from the Nuby cup as well as the TT which she initially refused to drink from

Ladies, my LG is getting sooooooo funny. she makes us laugh so much!! What tricks are you LO's up to already. Emily seems to have her dad's clever genes as she jsut amazes us everyday, here is her "tricks" so far:

She can do the whole nose sniffing, funny face thing when we ask her to make "nosey"

She has a star on her bedroom door and when we ask her where the star is she points to the door and says: "Tar"

She knows Pappa and Mamma - my mom and I are both Mamma at the moment and DH is Pappa.

She calls the dog: "Baa" for some reason and also makes that sound one does with your lips when you call a dog.

when I put on make-up, she crawls to me and opens her mouth for lipstick!! When I put some lipstick on for her, she presses her lips together like I do

she also gives kisses when asked - YAY!!!

She can make the "waa-waa-waa" sound by hitting her hand against her mouth when asked or whenever she feels like actually.

She claps hands when asked

She waves bye-bye and blows kisses and imitates coughing when she hears someone else cough - she thinks smeezing is the funnies thing on earth right now (hers or someone elses)

And my favourite: if she hears someone laughing she breaks into complete fake laughter herself - it is soooo cute.

so, that's her list of tricks for now that is keeping her mommy and daddy very entertained

Oh charnenay, did you ever try out the Nuby sippy cup? did you manage to get Emily to drink out of a cup?

Sorry i know its been a while since that post but over the weekend K was playing with Dh's straw in his milkshake... just chewing on the end and she sorta figured out she could suck.... so she got a lovely taste of DH's chocolate Milkshake before we noticed...

anyways it made me think of you and the sippy cup.

Sher - I hear you on the little one keeping you on your toes... sheesh Kaelyn is always busy, she won't just sit and play with her toys, she is starting to follow me around now at least, but if i go too fast she shouts. And seeing as she cant go down the stairs too safely she can only follow me one way and not back.

As for weekends... sheesh i don't even know what happens... i think in my week monday follows friday... they are just so so so busy... and now FIL wants us to put up pool fence this weekend, so thats saturday done... and sunday well Kaelyn's god father is emmigrataing to Oz so he is coming by to make the most of his time left...

and MIL (her and FIL are diveorced) is nagging she wants to come around sometime and my paremts take us out to eat on fridays....

Argh! not enough time in the days i tell you!

anyway on a hight note, we are half way through winter.. the days will start getting longer and warmer now! YAAAAAYYY for solstice!!!

(sorry this is of exceptional importance for those of us leaving home at 5:30 / before sunrise at the moment)

Hi ladies

sorry had not time to read all the posts.... i dont have time to even breathe

since being put in this new building, I inherited like 6 projects. so i am so deep in with work. Busy is a understatement, its so so hectic

this wants me to plan owning my own business even sooner. i know its hard work but hey, def more money and your, your own boss

ah well, otherwise all is well, I see we have another preggie lady, congrats

Cols you also gonna try, i dont know if i can do that just yet

K keeps us on our toes, that little tiny one, is so super active.

just does not stop. between work and home life at the moment, i just dont think i have the energy to have another baby and also the finance

still looking for houses, though we have not gone out to look physically in last two weeks, we have been super hectic on weekends too

there is just not enough time, weekends fly by far too quickly

oh cols, i went to Jelena the other week, what a lovely lady, so so friendly...

we need more people like that in this world

anyway, I dont know how much i can pop in here but will try ...

Sounds like you all had lotsa fun this weekend.


PM, hope your little girl's foot is fine for the exam.

Our entire family is/was sick. Spent the entire longweekend in bed, had to cancel all our appointments. I was fine, took our son to the movies on Sat, but could not wait for it to finish to just craw into bed. My poor DH got his pressie and breakfast for FD. That was it, the rest of the day I was in bed. He went to get us a chicken and rolls at Spar for supper. I feel so bad. But, such is life.

Cols, Shani is super MA-VAS, espescially at night. She would cry as if she got hurt if I just move out of her sight. DH is getting very frustrated about it. During the day she wants to be with her dad mostly.

She is also standing for longer periods. Her brother find this amuzing and would time her everytime.

Blessed to be, congrats on the pregnancy. As for the rest of you starting to TTC soon, all the best. Sending lots of babydust your way.
